Chapter 189: Chapter 189: Illness II

Song Recommendation: Wife By Gidle!

The situation with Li Qiang worsened as his temperature increased, but thankfully, Gao Yang went against his wishes, and had already informed Xin Yan who was scared once she got the news.

While Li Qiang was working, he heard a knock on the door. He frowned because the knock was frantic, before muttering a ’come in.’

"Li Qiang, didn’t I ask you to take good care of yourself?" Lo and behold, it was Xin Yan, and she had a very annoyed face.

Li Qiang dropped the files as he stared at her with wide eyes. He was not expecting her, and he wondered how she knew his situation worsened.

His question was answered when Gao Yang walked in.

"So it is you," Li Qiang facepalmed.

"I am sorry, President for going against your orders, but your health is paramount," Gao Yang apologized immediately.

"You do not need to apologize to him, he is not concerned about his health, nor is he worried about the people who care about him," Xin Yan scoffed loudly.

"Xin Yan, listen to me," Li Qiang pleaded.

"I am not listening to you, I listened to you today, which is why your face is very pale, we are going home, and I am calling the doctor to check up on you," Xin Yan walked to him as she placed her hands on his forehead.

A frown morphed on her face when she realized how burning it was to touch.

"No excuses, we are heading home, Gao Yang, please supervise everything in the company, and report back to me," Xin Yan was swift in her decision, giving no room for rejection.

Li Qiang could only sigh as he stood up, following her every order. He did not forget to glare at Gao Yang who lowered his head immediately.

Xin Yan noticed, and she turned to give him a glare of hers.

"Sorry," he whispered to her, he could sense that she was annoyed by his lack of care for his health.

"You had better be," Xin Yan lashed out.

"How did you come here?" Li Qiang asked once they were in the elevator.

"I took a taxi, your health is important, take a look at you, frail, and you cannot even stand on your own," Xin Yan replied to him, and he nodded weakly.

He felt weak all over his body, and all he wished was to take a good rest on the bed.

"Where’s your car key?" Xin Yan asked as they approached the parking lot.

They did not take the normal entrance as it could be damaging for Li Qiang’s reputation. They did not want people seeing he was ill. Rumors could fly around, and they could be severely damaging.

"My pocket," he answered. By the second, his voice became weaker, causing Xin Yan’s worry to increase.

Xin Yan searched his pocket, and she found it immediately.

Xin Yan opened the door for Li Qiang, and he entered the car listlessly. She immediately went to the other side of the car as she ignited the car, and drove off immediately.

While driving, Xin Yan placed a call to the doctor.

When they finally reached home, the doctor was already waiting for them.

Li Qiang was already asleep; hence, the doctor assisted Xin Yan in bringing him into the bedroom.

"How is he?" Xin Yan asked after the doctor completed the checkup on him.

"It is the common cold, but it could result in something else if he doesn’t take care of his health, here are the medications he needs to take, for now, he needs to have light food," the doctor informed as he handed a piece of paper to Xin Yan.

"Would he be okay?" Xin Yan asked as her eyes darted to Li Qiang who was sleeping peacefully on the bed.

"If he doesn’t overwork himself, and focuses on recovering, then there is no reason for him not to get well," the doctor replied to her, and she nodded.

"I will be taking my leave now," he stated.

"I will see you out," giving Li Qiang one last look, Xin Yan walked out with the doctor, only to meet with Aunt Guo who was just returning from her vacation.

"Xin Yan, why is the doctor here?" Aunt Guo asked with worry evident in her eyes.

"Li Qiang is not well, thank you for your help doctor," Xin Yan replied, seeing the doctor off.

"Have a nice day," the doctor remarked, and left immediately.

"Is it serious?" Aunt Guo asked.

"It is just a cold, Aunt Guo, I would trouble you to get these medications," Xin Yan collapsed on one of the chairs as she handed the paper to Aunt Guo.

"Sure thing, you stay here, and watch the Young Master, I will be back in a jiffy," Aunt Guo was happy to run this errand. Li Qiang’s health was paramount.

Later, Aunt Guo returned.

"The doctor says he needs something light, what can we make for him?" Xin Yan’s face was full of exhaustion.

"I will make something for him, meanwhile, try to wake him up, he needs to have something to eat, then take the pills before he goes back to sleep," Aunt Guo suggested, and Xin Yan nodded, finding the suggestion to be pleasing.

Xin Yan walked up the stairs, her heart heavy. This was the first time she was seeing Li Qiang fall sick, and it scared her a lot.

Xin Yan had always seen Li Qiang to be a strong person. She had not seen him sick before, thus, him falling ill caused her to be depressed.

Once she got into the room, it turns out that Li Qiang was already awake, and he was seated on the bed, his hands on his forehead

"How do you feel?" Xin Yan asked, leaning on the door.

"My head feels heavy," he replied in a low voice.

"It is expected, you overwork yourself, and you do not care about your body, this is why your head feels heavy," Xin Yan commented, and he looked at her with dewy eyes.

"I am sorry for not paying attention to my body, which is why you are worried," he apologized.

"If you want to ask for my apology, just get better," Xin Yan exhaled, and he nodded.
