Rebirth: The Heiress Plans Her Revenge-Chapter 174: Court Proceedings V
Chapter 174: Chapter 174: Court Proceedings V
Song Recommendation: My Way By Katesye!
Tang Jun glared at Tang Mo. If he weren’t cuffed, and bound, he would have pounced on him, and killed him.
But that was not what was on his mind currently.
He knew what those files contained. As Tang Mo had stated, he was present at the hospital that day, and he knew what had taken place. He played a major role there after all.
To prove that Tang Jun had truly raped his daughter, the head of the Shi family, Shi Liran’s father had taken them to the hospital.
The reason for this action was because the Tangs did not believe their claims. The only way they could prove that Tang Jun truly raped Shi Liran was to visit the doctor.
According to science, one could find out by conducting a simple test with the use of the suspect’s semen.
This was done, and it was proven that Tang Jun was the culprit. This was the only reason the Tangs agreed to the marriage then.
Shi Liran’s father had threatened to publicize the news. They could not allow that to happen, if it did, then their reputations will be soiled.
The judge looked through the documents diligently, and she nodded seeing the reports. It was proven that Tang Jun was truly the culprit.
"Papers could be forged, I believe Your Honor will not make a mistake by believing a mere piece of paper," once again, Tang Jun disrupted the peace of the courtroom by bringing up another fact.
Tang Mo turned to look at Tang Jun, and he could only shake his head at his stupidity.
He had been investigating this matter, and with the help of Li Qiang, it was smooth.
"Would Tang Mo be able to prove that the papers were forged? The judge looked undecided," Xin Yan whispered to Li Qiang as she continued to look on with a worried look.
"Relax, Tang Mo will be able to prove it, we were expecting something like this to happen anyway, we have a plan for that, so you need to be rest assured, we still hold an upper hand in this battle," Li Qiang assured her.
Xin Yan could only bite her lips tiredly. She hoped the culprits were punished without fail as that was what they deserved.
"Mr. Tang Mo, Tang Jun has a point, do you have any evidence to prove that these papers are not fake, but real?" The judge asked. She was a fair judge, and though she despised Tang Jun and Tang Jingsheng, she had to be rational in her actions.
Tang Mo smiled. He was expecting it anyway. He turned to look at his lawyer who nodded, fully comprehending what Tang Mo needed to do.
"Your Honor, may I request for another witness to be brought into the witness box?" Tang Mo’s lawyer asked subserviently.
The judge was quiet for a while, before nodding in agreement.
"Thank you, Your Honor," he thanked her, before gesturing for a particular person in the crowd to step into the witness box. Tang Mo had already exited the box, and had already made his way to his seat.
"Is everything going to be fine?" Zhou Mian immediately asked Tang Mo as he took his seat. She was tensed.
Tang Mo felt her tense aura, and he gave her a reassuring smile.
"Everything will be fine, I assure you, just sit back, and relax, the same goes for you mom," Tang Mo assured the two ladies, and they could only release the deep breaths they were holding previously.
"Mrs. Wen, you have been a worker at the City Hospital for over thirty years, I am sure you recall what happened many years ago," Tang Mo’s lawyer asked a woman who was as old as Shi Liran.
"Of course, I still remember Mrs. Tang, she was crying profusely when she arrived with her father, I thought she had done something bad because she looked my age, it turns out, she was a victim," Mrs. Wen replied, her speech was clear and concise, straight to the point.
The lawyer smiled.
"Can you elaborate further, Mrs. Wen, the court would like to understand what happened thirty years ago," Lawyer Cang, Tang Mo’s lawyer requested?
"I will be happy to tell the truth," Mrs. Wen was beyond excited.
It turns out she was a janitor in the hospital, and she was tasked with cleaning the room which had been set up for the test.
She had overheard the discussion between both sides mistakenly, and that was how she found out that Tang Jun had raped Shi Liran.
"Your Honor, as you can see, and before Mr. Tang would say we paid this lady to testify against him, we have a recording from years ago, the recording contained what happened that day, you can see that Tang Jun was truly at the hospital for the test."
Lawyer Cang turned to look at Tang Jun who was about to speak up, but kept quiet immediately.
"Damnit, I would never have thought that Tang Mo would go to extra lengths just to bring me down," Tang Jun whispered under his breath, diverting his eyes away from the lawyer.
"Here, Your Honor, this was gotten from the hospital’s surveillance, you can see that it is blurry, this is how old the video is," Lawyer Cang emphasized as he handed his phone to the judge, it was playing a video.
While the judge watched it, there were murmurs in the crowd present in the courtroom. They were speculating what could be in the video.
The judge nodded after watching the video, handing it back to him.
"Any other questions," The judge asked.
"No further questions," Lawyer Cang replied.
"Defendant’s lawyer?" The judge called.
"No questions, Your Honor," he replied. The truth was clear as daytime. He wondered what he was to defend.
"It had been proven that Tang Jun raped his wife, it has also been proven that Tang Jingsheng raped Feng Shui, it has also been proven that he is the head of The Deadly Sins, it has also been proven that Tang Jun is Cheng Jin, numerous crimes committed by both father and son, I am not surprised."
The judge shook her head, clearly disgusted by the two.
"Oh, there is a final crime case, the death of Tang Nun and his family, Tang Jun has proven to be the suspect?" The judge spoke up, barely controlling her disbelief as she stared at Tang Jun with wife eyes.
She was not the only surprised one. The entire courtroom broke into discussions causing it to be rowdy.
Tang Jun sighed.
"I would like to say something," Tang Jun spoke up. He had decided to give in, it was obvious he could not win this case.
Even if it was not proven that he was the mastermind behind the murder of his brother’s family, it was a fact that he was Cheng Jin, the menace.
He was going to jail, there was no denying that. Everything he had worked for had been destroyed by the boy he decided to keep alive.
All that was left was regret and shame.
"What do you have to say?" The judge asked as they all watched him step into the witness box.
"I killed my brother, yes, I was the mastermind behind my brother’s death, his entire family was wiped off by me, but I spared a little boy, and unexpectedly, this boy turns out to be the person who is sending me to jail today," Tang Jun chuckled bitterly.
An uproar broke out in the court immediately on Tang Jun’s words.
Everybody was discussing it, and it was not a big deal to find out who that boy was. It was Tang Mo.
Everybody in the courtroom turned to look at Tang Mo, who had his head held high.
He was finally going to avenge his parents’ and sister’s deaths.
"Order!" The judge yelled, and the courtroom turned silent immediately.
"Hmm, it is good that you decided to speak the truth," the judge started as her eyes darted around the courtroom.
"Okay, the court will go on a short recess, I will have to discuss with my fellow judges the punishment to give to the father-son criminals," the judge did not bother to mince her words.
After the judge had left for the inner room, Tang Mo and Shi Liran approached Tang Jun and Tang Jingsheng.
"Are you happy now?" Tang Jun snarled.
"Be calm, you do not need to scream that loudly, we can hear you," Shi Liran smiled at him, but her smile only aggravated Tang Jun’s annoyance.
"Mother, aren’t you my mother? But you joined hands with him to send my father and I to jail, how could you?" Tang Jingsheng spoke with a disappointed voice.
"I am only doing the right thing, you are my son, hence the reason for my actions, I tried to warn you, but you did not heed my warnings, you decided to listen to your dad, and this is where it landed you," Shi Liran felt hurt.
No matter what, Tang Jingsheng was still her son. It hurt her that he derailed, but she was not going to get sentimental.
"I am still your son, you gave birth to me, can you bear to send me to jail?" Tang Jingsheng asked with a look of mockery.
Shi Liran clenched her fists tightly. Surely, Tang Jingsheng knew how to get to her.
She forced back the tears which were threatening to drop from her eyes as she commented, "if it is about sending you to jail so you can stop your activities, then I will gladly do so."
She was firm and clear in her words as she looked into her son’s eyes without backing down
Tang Jingsheng opened his mouth and closed it, unable to form coherent words. He was surprised by his mother’s firmness.
