Chapter 173: Chapter 173: Court Proceedings IV

Song Recommendation: Savage by Aespa

"What are you thinking about? Is he coming or not?" Shi Liran pressed further.

"I have no idea, Mom, the proceeding is about to begin, please be quiet," Tang Mei hissed through gritted teeth.

Shi Liran rolled her eyes slightly, before she faced the judge. She could not be bothered with Tang Mei’s fluctuating moods.

The proceedings began, and both sides were fierce in their approach. It was a stalemate between both sides.

Zhou Mian watched on as anxiety seeped into her, but as she turned to look at the men, they were calm.

She took a deep breath in. If they were calm, then she should not be worried. They had everything under control.

Witnesses were called on, and it was surprising that Shi Liran decided to come out as a witness. She had begged Tang Mo the previous day, but he rejected it immediately.

He did not want his mother to be in the public eye. But Shi Liran had managed to convince him.

As Shi Liran stood in the witness box, Tang Jun’s heart skipped several beats. He wondered why she decided to be a witness.

He looked at his wife of thirty years, and his heart turned cold. She was going to reveal the truth to them.

Shi Liran’s eyes met with Tang Jun, who was staring at her without the usual care.

She had never loved this man, especially after what he had done to her. Tang Jingsheng was a result of constant rape, but today, she was going to end everything.

Shi Liran heaved heavily, answering all the questions asked by the lawyer.

Gasps filled the courtroom as she shared her story.

Zhou Mian and Xin Yan had their eyes widened. Tang Mei was not excluded either.

Li Qiang was surprised by the revelation, but he was able to skillfully mask his emotions.

The judge was a female who had a strong dislike for rape, and listening to Shi Liran’s story, she felt unprecedented anger towards Tang Jun.

"This was how I ended up getting married to him, I got married to him because he raped me," Shi Liran was in tears by the time she was done.

She still could not get the past incident out of her mind. There were times she would have nightmares because of that particular incident. She was scarred, for life!

"That will be all, Your Honor," Tang Mo’s lawyer bowed.

"Does the defendant’s lawyer have any questions to ask the witness?" The judge asked.

"Yes, Your Honor," Tang Jun’s lawyer replied as he walked towards Shi Liran who was in the witness booth.

"Go ahead," the judge gave him permission.

"Mrs. Tang, you claimed that my client, your husband raped you, but can you explain to the court how this happens, you mentioned that your father caught him, how did this happen?" The lawyer asked while he tilted his head to take a good look at Shi Liran.

Shi Liran smiled. She was expecting this question. If the lawyer hadn’t asked, she would have doubted his intelligence.

"Tang Jun broke into my room, he had always pursued me, but I did not accept his proposal, it was also proven that he worked with one of the security officers of my house which allowed him gain access to my room,

Tang Jun raped me in my room! He broke into my room while I was asleep, and raped me," Shi Liran was in tears as she pointed at Tang Jun who was silent.

All his past actions were coming to bite back at him.

"Did you not struggle? Did you not scream for help?" The lawyer asked with a calculative smile.

"Why do you think my dad showed up in the room? He heard my shouts, but it was too late, Tang Jun had already had his way with me," Shi Liran had a depressed look on her face.

Her father could not hear her screams as her room was soundproof.

The lawyer sighed. He was unable to find any loophole in her words.

"That will be all, Your Honor, I do not have any other questions to ask," he bowed, before going to have his seat.

But his eyes met with Tang Jun briefly. He shook his head, indicating that the case was too complicated. Tang Jun was guilty of the crimes against him, which made it more difficult.

"I disagree! Your father is not alive to corroborate your story, for all we know, you might be lying," in a fit of rage, Tang Jun yelled.

Pandemonium ensued with his words immediately. The people in the courtroom all discussed this possibility.

"Order!" The judge yelled, hitting her hammer, and the courtroom was restored to his normal peace.

"Officers, hold him back, I would rather not hear a word from him until he is called," the judge instructed, and the officers nodded, adhering to the instruction.

"As much as I hate to admit it, Mr. Tang has a good point," the Judge spoke up with a disappointed gaze.

Tang Mo had a smug smile on his face as he listened to the Judge’s words.

Shi Liran frowned as she looked towards Tang Mo for help. She had left everything to him to handle as she trusted him.

"May I speak?" Tang Mo stood up with a file in his hands. He had a confident look in his eyes, and Shi Liran felt at ease. She knew she could count on him. freeweɓnøvel~com

"If you want to speak, use the witness box," the judge indirectly gave him permission.

"Thank you, Your Honor," Tang Mo bowed as he approached the witness box, with he and Shi Liran swapping places.

Tang Jun stared at Tang Mo who had a confident look on his face, and he had a bad feeling immediately.

"I found out about this issue two days ago, and I knew I had to give my mom justice, this is why I visited the doctor who treated my mom after the incident," Tang Mo spoke up with a clear and concise voice.

From where Tang Jun was seated, his eyes widened. He had no idea that Tang Mo would go to extra length just to put him in jail.

"And I was able to get my hands on this file," Tang Mo continued as he raised the folder.

"There are the details from what happened that night, I believe Mr. Tang would understand, after all, he was also present at the hospital that particular day," Tang Mo handed the folder to the judge’s assistant as his eyes met with Tang Jun’s.
