Chapter 954: Chapter 881: Restaurant Conflict

Who would have thought this guy would take it upon himself to let Zhong Ming call for a taxi.

She wanted to thank Zhong Ming and invite them to dinner, and she couldn’t argue, but spending eighty yuan on a taxi was just too wasteful.

Ye Qingfeng got out of the car and casually glanced around, surrounded by some old buildings.

This place seemed like a rather inconspicuous town, far from the capital Yanjing.

Ye Qingfeng only took a brief look and then withdrew his gaze. He could tell that Zhao Zhiruo must not have much money, and certainly wasn’t living in any high-end place.

However, Ye Qingfeng definitely didn’t care about these things.

"Let’s go," Zhao Zhiruo took the lead, her head lowered, suddenly feeling a little embarrassed.

She wasn’t normally the type to feel inferior because of poverty, but in front of Ye Qingfeng, she suddenly felt a bit embarrassed.

She could feel Ye Qingfeng’s proud demeanor, and he was quite handsome, even though she didn’t like Ye Qingfeng.

But she guessed that Ye Qingfeng’s family must be well-off, maybe even very wealthy.

"I wonder if he would look down on me," Zhao Zhiruo suddenly found herself caring about Ye Qingfeng’s opinion.

Ye Qingfeng and Zhong Ming followed behind Zhao Zhiruo, through several narrow alleys, and arrived at a Sichuan restaurant where a slightly aged woman was busy working.

"Mom, I’m back on vacation," Zhao Zhiruo called out to the woman.

The woman was just serving a dish to a table of guests and, upon hearing this, lifted her head with a smile.

"Zhiruo, you’re back so early today. You usually take the bus and get back late; today was so quick."

The woman said this, then saw Ye Qingfeng and Zhong Ming behind Zhao Zhiruo and her eyes lit up.

"Zhiruo, are these your friends? Come in and sit down."

"Yes, Auntie, we are Zhiruo’s friends!" Ye Qingfeng said with a light smile, walking in.

Zhao Zhiruo’s mother was all smiles, Zhong Ming looked like he was in his thirties.

Whereas Ye Qingfeng seemed young and handsome, like a classmate of Zhao Zhiruo’s, polite and modest, which greatly pleased Zhao Zhiruo’s mother.

A gentle, slightly charming boy like him was just perfect for accompanying Zhao Zhiruo!

So Zhao Zhiruo’s mother was very happy and satisfied!

"Come, come, sit down, Auntie will make you something good to eat." Zhao Zhiruo’s mother beamed, liking Ye Qingfeng very much.

"Okay, thank you, Auntie." Ye Qingfeng appeared very polite, and sat down directly.

Zhong Ming felt strange, wondering what the instructor was up to, and why he had become so agreeable.

He couldn’t see what was so special about this mother and daughter duo that made the instructor treat them so specially.

"Mom, don’t be like this, they are just some friends I recently met. They helped me on the road, so I wanted to treat them to dinner."

Zhao Zhiruo’s face turned slightly red. Her mother was always very concerned about her marriage prospects, urging her to find a boyfriend upon entering university.

She knew her mother certainly took Ye Qingfeng as her boyfriend.

But she didn’t like this arrogant guy at all. Even if he was capable, he had no sense of justice, and she wouldn’t be fond of him.

And too arrogant, acting as if everything should be his decision.

"What happened to you on the road?" Hearing that Zhao Zhiruo had an incident on the road, her mother urgently inquired.

"Nothing, just that..." Zhao Zhiruo truthfully recounted the incident on the bus.

"Really, Xiao Zhong, thank you so much."

It turned out Zhong Ming helped her daughter, which left Zhao Zhiruo’s mother a bit disappointed; she wished it was this handsome young man who assisted.

"Uh, actually, the instructor told me to do so." Zhong Ming glanced at Ye Qingfeng.

Even though he didn’t know why the instructor wanted this, he could see that Ye Qingfeng was quite concerned about this girl, so he attributed the credit to Ye Qingfeng.

Anyway, he did take action with Ye Qingfeng’s consent.

"Could it be that the instructor has taken a liking to this girl?"

Zhong Ming silently speculated, thinking that although this girl was decent looking, in his opinion, she was far beneath the instructor’s league.

"Oh! Thank you so much, Ye Qingfeng." Hearing Zhong Ming’s words, Zhao Zhiruo’s mother immediately beamed with joy.

Although she didn’t understand why Ye Qingfeng was Zhong Ming’s instructor, she knew Ye Qingfeng was Zhong Ming’s superior, and it was on Ye Qingfeng’s order that he helped out.

The more she looked at Ye Qingfeng, the more satisfied she felt, initially wanting to extend her hand to shake his.

But seeing Ye Qingfeng immaculate and tidy, she wiped her oily hands on her apron, too embarrassed to extend them.

"You’re welcome, Auntie, it was the right thing to do." Ye Qingfeng proactively reached out and shook hands with Zhao Zhiruo’s mother, his smile warm.

This gesture from Ye Qingfeng made Zhao Zhiruo’s mother even happier; a young man capable of tolerance and unburdened by wealth was a rarity indeed.

"Well, you all chat, I’ll go make some food for you."

"Mom, no, I should take them to eat in the city." Zhao Zhiruo quickly put down her backpack and said.

She realized her mother was very pleased with Ye Qingfeng; if they talked further, she feared her mother would consider him her future son-in-law.

Moreover, her mother couldn’t see it, but Zhao Zhiruo could.

Ye Qingfeng had an air of pride about him; he was surely from a wealthy family and wouldn’t think much of her mother’s small restaurant.

"No need, let’s eat here. I’d really like to try Auntie’s cooking." Ye Qingfeng said with a gentle smile.

"Oh, alright, I’ll get cooking, you all wait a bit." Zhao Zhiruo’s mom was overjoyed, smiling as she entered the kitchen.

Zhao Zhiruo helplessly sat down, noticing Ye Qingfeng looking at her, making her blush and look away.

Could he like me? Zhao Zhiruo thought with a hint of redness on her cheeks.

Quickly, she discarded such silly thoughts, knowing Ye Qingfeng’s identity was anything but ordinary.

She had encountered a few true heirs of prominent families at school, all carrying a sense of superiority.

The arrogance around Ye Qingfeng differed from theirs, but it gave off an air even loftier than those heirs.

It was a reserved pride; though not outwardly expressed, Zhao Zhiruo sensed an undercurrent of dominance in the world from him.

Soon, Zhao Zhiruo’s mother brought out the dishes, featuring various special Sichuan dishes, very aromatic and appetizing.

"Thank you, Auntie, then I’ll start eating," Ye Qingfeng smiled appreciatively and began eating. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

He was not finicky, eating quite casually.

Zhao Zhiruo looked on in surprise, as she assumed Ye Qingfeng came from a rich family and didn’t expect him to eat so heartily at her humble family restaurant.

"Haha, Brother Yu, come on, drink."

"Come on, drinking."

At the nearby table, three burly men were drinking heavily.

The three had flushed faces and staggered bodies, evidently quite drunk.

The big man called Brother Yu was the most uninhibited, holding up a bottle and shouting, nearly dancing.

While Zhao Zhiruo’s mom was serving dishes, Brother Yu happened to raise his bottle again.

The bottle bumped into Zhao Zhiruo’s mom, spilling the alcohol on Brother Yu.

Zhao Zhiruo’s mom, thrown off balance by the bump, fell to the ground, dropping a dish on herself.

"Damn it, are you blind? You spilled alcohol all over me!"

Brother Yu was the first to curse loudly.
