Rebirth in the 80's: The Daily Life of the Villain's Mom-Chapter 295: I Want Braised Lamb, What About You?
Pei Huai gave a few instructions, and only then did the young man board the train with Jiang Zhi.
They arrived just in time; almost as soon as they got on, the train started to whistle and soon moved forward.
Watching the train gradually disappearing, Jiang Ran let out a long sigh of relief.
Finally sent them off.
Just as this thought crossed her mind, Jiang Ran felt someone staring at her.
Here, it was just her and Pei Huai, so without looking, she knew it must be Pei Huai gazing at her.
Jiang Ran glanced at Pei Huai and just happened to meet his gaze.
Jiang Ran raised an eyebrow, "What are you looking at?"
"Looking at you."
"???"
Jiang Ran was a bit puzzled.
Before Jiang Ran could say anything else, Pei Huai had already turned around, "Come on, time to head back."
It certainly was time to go back.
Jiang Ran lifted her foot to follow, but as she walked, she couldn’t help but think about the recent conversation.
The more she thought about it, the more she felt that Pei Huai’s words were teasing her.
Pei Huai had that kind of nerve?
Or rather, Pei Huai had that kind of thought?
After thinking for a bit, Jiang Ran put the matter behind her.
Leaving the train station, they each got on their bikes and headed back.
It started to drizzle halfway there.
The raindrops were small and fine, but they came down quickly.
In no time, the ground that had dried after a whole day became wet again.
Jiang Ran wanted to ride faster, but it took more than ten minutes to get home from here anyway.
Even if she rode faster, the outcome wouldn’t really be different.
Just as she was thinking she might as well lay back and let the rain drench her, she heard Pei Huai’s urging voice.
Following the sound, she saw Pei Huai frowning at her.
"What are you thinking about? It’s raining, let’s find some shelter."
As Pei Huai spoke, he pointed to the side of the road.
There were shops by the roadside where they could take shelter from the rain, but the bikes would have to be left outside to get wet.
Jiang Ran wasn’t one to prize her bike over herself, besides, a bike getting a little wet would only possibly cause it to rust, nothing major.
So, without much hesitation, Jiang Ran rode her bike to where Pei Huai was pointing.
After parking their bikes, the two quickly ran inside.
She hadn’t paid much attention before, but upon running inside, Jiang Ran realized it was actually a small eatery.
A piece of red paper, with a menu and prices written in black ink, was stuck to the wall.
There weren’t many dishes on the menu; with a quick glance, Jiang Ran caught most of them.
This place specialized in beef and lamb dishes.
To be fair, small eateries did serve beef and lamb, but rarely.
Unlike this place, which seemed to focus on beef and lamb.
Seeing the words "braised lamb," Jiang Ran swallowed hard.
She kind of wanted to eat it.
Just as she thought this, she heard Pei Huai’s voice.
"I’m a bit hungry." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Jiang Ran looked over at Pei Huai.
Pei Huai remained calm and spoke again, "Why don’t we eat something? I’d like braised lamb, what do you want?"
Jiang Ran, "???"
What else do I want to eat?
Now I suspect you’re reading my mind.
As Jiang Ran stared at him, Pei Huai’s expression didn’t change, "Why aren’t you saying anything? Do you not have anything you want to eat? How about we share some, plus a bowl of rice, that should be enough."
They had eaten before taking Jiang Zhi to the train station.
It had been less than an hour, all things considered.
They could eat more, but not too much.
