Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate-Chapter 681: Too Much Violation
"Alright." Lucy Wells was unsure why, but she felt a bit flustered inside.
After Sophie Wilson quickly left, she went downstairs and saw Charles Seymour’s car. As soon as the door opened, she dashed inside without worrying about getting hit, and the person inside steadily caught her, acting as her cushion.
"You came at just the right moment, perfect timing." Sophie clung to someone, snuggling and acting cute. Just seeing this person made her heart blossom with joy, and she felt like the air was filled with a sweet aroma.
"Does this mean I’m creating opportunities for my cousin?" Sophie asked Charles, smiling brightly.
"Mm." Charles responded, his tone unchanged from usual. Yet Sophie clearly detected that his mood was a bit down, like an unhappy little puppy with ruffled fur.
"What’s wrong? Is there an issue at the company?" Sophie asked curiously, gently petting him to calm him.
"No one is creating opportunities for me," Charles said gloomily.
Sophie was momentarily stunned, then burst into laughter, "Oh my, you’re going to make me die laughing!"
Seriously, he’s even jealous of this?
Sophie laughed heartily, but the moment she met Charles’s "grieved" gaze, she couldn’t continue.
That’s against the rules!
Looking at her with such innocent puppy eyes that could melt hearts, it’s too unfair!
Sophie’s heart softened entirely, quickly hugging him, soothing and coaxing him, "How can that be the same? Look, we’re already together and will always be together. But my cousin and Lucy haven’t made their relationship clear yet; they haven’t even pierced that paper window."
Those five words "always be together" clearly pleased Charles, as his lips slightly upturned. He held Sophie’s hand, pulling her into his embrace, inhaling the faint fragrance from her, and contentedly sighed.
Yes, they will always be together.
Meanwhile, Kai Bright was showcasing his talent, his mouth smooth and sweet-talking, making Emma Wells and Old Mrs. Wells beam with joy. By the end of the meal, he had somehow added a couple of smile lines to their faces.
"You really are such an interesting kid," Old Mrs. Wells laughed heartily and said, "You must come and visit often."
"Alright, Grandma, when I come, don’t you dare dislike me," Kai Bright replied cheerfully, leaving Lucy Wells no chance to stop him.
Lucy Wells watched her beaming grandmother and felt a mix of emotions.
All these years, her grandmother had been worried about her and her mother. Seeing her laugh so heartily today was indeed rare.
Around eight o’clock, Kai Bright rose to bid farewell but was held by Old Mrs. Wells for a few reluctant words before he left.
"Lucy, go see Kai off," Emma Wells said.
"Okay." Lucy said, about to change her shoes, but Kai Bright stopped her, smiling, "Auntie, Lucy is a girl, and I’m not comfortable letting her go up alone later, so no need to see me off. Don’t worry; I definitely know the building entrance and won’t stray."
How could anyone go the wrong way just by descending stairs?
"Oh, you kid," Old Mrs. Wells laughed, her face full of wrinkles forming a flower, "Alright, alright, I won’t have Lucy see you off. Take care on the road and come over to play often."
