Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate-Chapter 548: True Identity
"Pfft, is my cooking really that good?" Sophie Wilson asked with a laugh.
"Yes." Charles Seymour nodded and asked, "It’s exceptionally good, I’ve never tasted anything like it."
If, if Kai Bright were here right now, he would definitely shake Charles Seymour’s shoulders and roar at him, "Bro, are you really saying this with a straight face? Doesn’t your conscience hurt?"
Unfortunately, he’s not here, not just not in the hotpot restaurant, but not even in the Imperial City, so naturally, he doesn’t know.
It’s also a good thing, so he doesn’t have to be provoked.
"Shall I cook for you again?" Sophie asked with a smile.
Charles shook his head: "I don’t want to tire you out. The food from the family chef isn’t as good as yours, but it’s barely edible."
The family chef cried in the kitchen...
Sophie was laughing so hard she couldn’t close her mouth, playfully scolding, "Alright, eat your food, stop mixing compliments with meals."
She was truly impressed by Charles Seymour.
The two ate hotpot, chatting and laughing in a great atmosphere. Charles took a trip to the restroom, and Sophie continued cooking the vegetables.
The door opened, and Sophie looked over curiously. Charles couldn’t be back so soon, and they hadn’t ordered more food, so why would a waiter come in?
Seeing who was standing by the door, Sophie laughed, "Should I say it’s a small world or did you come here looking for me?"
"I just saw you in the private room too, so I came in to say hi." Ophelia Wilson said with a smile, then quite familiarly pulled over a chair and sat down.
Sophie looked at Ophelia amusingly and asked, "Did I invite you to sit?"
"I didn’t invite you either, yet you’re competing with me now?" Ophelia dropped her facade of purity and kindness in front of others, coldly stared at Sophie.
The humiliation of the engagement banquet, she would never forget.
What should have been her most glorious day became a laughing stock; how could she possibly forget that incident?
"Competing?" Sophie asked with a chuckle, "Are you even worthy?"
Those three light words seemed like a heavy slap, fiercely landing on Ophelia’s face, turning her exquisitely made-up face instantly black.
"Sophie Wilson, don’t be so smug, you’re just relying on..."
"Yeah, I’m relying on someone to back me up. I’m smug about it, not just smug but showing off too, so what? Bite me!" Sophie didn’t even let Ophelia finish, laughing arrogantly and really showing off to the extreme.
"Did you know that as long as I tell Charles Seymour, your true colors will be exposed?" Ophelia gritted her teeth and laid her trump card.
Sophie was stunned.
What true colors?
She herself didn’t even know.
"You arranged for someone to secretly take photos, right?" Ophelia’s gritted query clarified things for Sophie.
Sophie blinked in confusion and amusingly asked, "Why would you think that?"
How did Ophelia even come to this conclusion?
Her thought process was quite unique. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Isn’t it just because the Wilson Clan refused to acknowledge you, so you used the engagement banquet to deliberately show off your power? To make grandma and grandpa regret it, regret not accepting you back." Ophelia had long figured it out; this was all Sophie’s doing.
"Ha!" Sophie really couldn’t understand Ophelia’s logic, based on what did she draw this conclusion?
