Chapter 222: Happiness That Will Never Forgotten (1)

The summer holiday Aurora had wanted finally happened.

They visit one of Alex’s private islands in the country and invite their family and close friends to join them.

Aurora and Alex had already arrived on the island a day earlier, with their three children, parents, and staff.

And today, their close friend will also join them. She was excited to meet everyone and had already prepared for the big lunch party on the beach once the yacht arrived from the main island.

She can’t wait to see Renata, Danny, and their daughter. She also looks forward to meeting David and his new girlfriend.

But, too bad, Max can’t join them this time. Not because Max still harbors hatred toward his brother, but because he is moving to a foreign land to pursue his career. Besides them, Patrick and Jimmy also joined in, along with their families.

This is the best holiday Aurora has been waiting for: to spend time with the people she cherishes in her new and present life, as well as those from her past life.

"Rory, are you happy to meet them?" Alex’s question pulled Aurora back from her thoughts.

She turned to look at him, her eyes shining as she replied, "Of course. I miss Renata, Danny, and their adorable daughter Azalea. I also miss David and his sense of humor. Ugh, well, he is not foolish anymore..."

Alex can’t help but laugh when he hears how Aurora talks about David, his cousin.

"Yeah, he’s now doing well at my father’s company and has become an IT director there..."

"I’m really proud of David. He is intelligent, but his overconfidence sometimes leads to failures. Still, I have to acknowledge he’s smart..."

Aurora can’t help but praise David, who now has recognition at Graystone Management. He became a board member after five years working there. He started from a managerial position and has now become a Director.

"You’re right, Rory. I’m glad too, because my father no longer asks me to help Graystone Group. Because David is doing a good job at the company..."

Aurora sighed deeply upon hearing about Matthew. She began to worry because Matthew was now starting to watch William, their firstborn, to inherit the Graystone Group.

"Oh, Rory, are you worried again about whether my dad plans to give William the company?" Alex asked, noticing her expression tighten.

"Hmm, I’m concerned William might lose her youthfulness just like you. I really don’t want Will and Ethan to repeat your mistakes. I hope they enjoy their youth without missing out on anything. If their fate is to lead Graystone or Stardust Group, let them earn it naturally, not through force!"

Alex gently patted her hand, assuring her.

"Well, my dear, no need to worry. One thing you should be sure of: I share your view. I don’t want them to depend on us to choose their path. We teach and guide them virtues and logic in this world. We trust them to choose their path in life. And I want them to enjoy their lives to the fullest. And as parents, we just need to support their decisions."

"Thank you, Alex..." Aurora smiled lovingly at him. She feels grateful because Alex shares her mindset.

"Oh, I’m also really excited to meet Patrick and his new wife. Wow, I can’t believe he finally settled down and got married after all these years." Aurora’s eyes beamed thinking about Patrick.

Alex laughed while shaking his head slowly before finally saying, "Oh dear, you broke his heart twice..."

"I know, right? I feel bad, but again, that’s not my fault. Why the heck does he love someone who doesn’t show interest in him? Ugh, well, I’m happy now he gets the woman he truly loves. Ah, I heard from Jimmy that his wife is pregnant?"

"Hmm, Patrick is jealous of Jimmy and me because we already have children. That’s why he is not holding back."

"He is lucky his wife is still young. I wonder how many more years their age gap is?" Aurora mumbles to herself and couldn’t help but be curious to know.

"Much more than our age difference, fifteen years if I’m not mistaken..."

"My goodness, Patrick should start working out, or he might die sooner than his wife..." Aurora abruptly paused, swallowing her words, realizing she also had a significant age gap with Alex.

Alex took a deep breath and listened to Aurora’s words. The meaning of her words pierced deeply into his heart. He glanced at the distant sea, following her line of sight.

After a brief silence, they enjoy the scenery, with Alex seriously saying, "No worries, my pretty wife... I won’t die sooner than you. I will make sure to maintain my health and live for a long, long time with you and our children."

Aurora said nothing more, simply smiling and nodding as she tried not to dwell on the age gap between them.

Just then, she finally spotted the yacht they had been waiting for approaching the island.

"Yay! They finally arrive..." she shouted excitedly.

"Let’s go wait for them at the dock..." Alex stood up from his seat, took her hand, and they walked together as they waited for their friends.

...

After all their friends had settled and rested for a while in their bungalow, they finally gathered under the shade of a shady tree not far from the main house to enjoy lunch.

A few garden tables were set up, and the chef, along with the staff, was busy serving lunch.

Alex and Aurora sit at the same table with Renata and Danny, along with David, Patrick, Jimmy, and their partners.

Meanwhile, their child is now sitting with Sophia and Tina, who is taking care of them. At another table, Thomas Moon, Matthew, and a few family and staff members are seated together.

The atmosphere feels enchanting, bringing Aurora back to a memory from years ago when she married Alex at their villa. As she gazes at everyone now—the same loved ones—she feels a warm glow inside.

Much has changed in their lives, but their friendship and closeness stay the same.

As Aurora was deep in her own thoughts, reflecting on her extraordinary life after rebirth, David suddenly raised his glass. He tapped a spoon on the glass several times to get everyone’s attention.

When everyone’s attention shifted to him, David smiled and looked at their curious expressions.

"Guys, I have some good news! Alright, feel free to try guessing..." in a playful tone.

"Wow! What is it?" Patrick asked with curiosity, narrowing his eyes at David.

"Boss Patrick, you need to guess..." David chuckled.

"Geez, David, can you just share with us?" Renata chimed in.

"Did you become COO of Graystone?" Alex asked casually.

"Hell... Can’t you guess it?" David said, frustrated, while shaking his head.

Aurora laughed, observing how annoyed David was now.

"You are so late, David Morrison. We’re just teasing you. We already know about it. Sarah is finally willing to marry you, right?!" she asked casually, but David looked surprised to hear that.

"Oh damn! How do you know?" David’s eyes widen in surprise as he looks at Aurora, then shifts his gaze to Sarah Hill, his future wife, sitting beside him. "Baby, did you tell them?"

Sarah smiled at David and shook her head. "No. But sister Rory saw my ring. And she knew right away..."

"Ah, I forgot about that..." David grinned before looking at Aurora and the others, "Yes, yes, you are right, Aurora. I will marry Sarah this fall... I hope you guys will empty your schedule and come to my wedding."

"Congratulations, David, Sarah..."

"Yeah, of course we will come..." Danny and Renata said.

"What do you want for your wedding gift? Tell me now, I need to save!" Patrick playfully teases him.

"Please don’t make a party far from the city," Aurora begged.

They all raised their wine glasses to congratulate David and Sarah.

After a few hours, the lunch gathering came to an end, leaving everyone with happy memories and smiles. It was truly remarkable to reconnect with everyone and have such a lovely time.
