Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife-Chapter 193: She Is a Genius
Chapter 193: She Is a Genius
"Aurora, you are indeed a genius!!" Alvin shouted in shock, staring at Aurora in disbelief before returning his gaze to Aurora’s computer screen.
He demonstrated the filing system to her just once and explained how to schedule and summarize all their boss’s appointments. Aurora grasped everything right away.
In less than five minutes, she had already completed all the tasks he had given her.
’How is she able to do that? Did Boss Alex already teach her?’ Alvin thinks. ’No. No, that can’t be it. Boss Alex wasn’t even aware of this system.’
He quickly dismissed his thought because the system was exclusive to Alex’s secretary and personal staff. No one, including Alex, can operate it.
Alvin turned slowly to Aurora next to him, raising both thumbs in appreciation.
"Aurora, you are truly a genius. It’s no surprise that Boss Alex is falling for you so quickly; you are his type—a smart woman!"
Alvin said. His eyes lit up as he gazed at Aurora’s computer once more.
"Damn it! Josh was right to praise you..."
"Well, Alvin, I really appreciate it when you praise me behind my back. I’m curious, though—what makes you do that?"
Josh’s voice could be heard from the door, prompting Alvin and Aurora to turn their attention to him.
"Hahaha, Josh, you arrived just in time." Alvin rose from his chair and approached Josh at the door, leaving Aurora behind.
Alvin began explaining to Josh, "Listen, man, our lady boss was a genius. She only listened to the explanation once, and within five minutes, she completed what I asked for. I remember it took me five hours to complete all the tasks!"
Josh suppressed a grin while Alvin complimented Aurora.
"You take so long to believe me, Alvin. She truly is a genius, which is why Patrick is now seeking to complain to Boss Alex for poaching his future employee."
"Patrick? Who does he believe he is?" Alvin’s voice was filled with anger. "He must confront me before going to Boss Alex to poach Aurora. I refuse to allow him to approach our boss, Aurora!"
"Haha, you handle it with him." Josh finds it funny that two departments are coming after Aurora.
Alvin cleared his throat and dismissed Patrick from his mind.
"Well, Aurora, not only is she a genius, but I taught her properly. That’s why she’s quick to learn," he said proudly.
Josh shot Alvin a look that clearly said, "What the heck are you trying to say?" However, Alvin missed the cue.
Alvin simply smiled and turned his attention to Aurora at the meeting table.
"Right, lady boss? Am I the best teacher for you?"
Aurora, "...."
With a gentle smile, she glanced at Alvin before quietly closing her laptop and moving back to her desk, focusing on her work rather than Alvin and Josh.
Once she comfortably settled into her chair, she excitedly powered on all her supercomputers, ready to dive into her tasks.
Yet, shortly after, Alvin’s voice pulled her attention.
"Is there anything you need from me, Lady Boss?"
"Yes..." Aurora answered while turning to see Alvin.
"Oh, alright... You may ask me before I start my work." Alvin smiled excitedly, eager to teach her again.
She said softly, maintaining a deadpan expression, "Can you leave me alone? I need to work in peace here."
"Pft!" Josh almost choked upon hearing Aurora’s words. He immediately stepped aside to make way for Alvin.
"Ah, okay, okay..." Alvin smiled awkwardly. "If you need anything, just call my landline."
"Sure!"
"Bye, man..." Josh playfully waved to Alvin before closing the door and walking to Aurora.
"Do you find working on this floor more enjoyable than in the IT department?"
Aurora cast a glance at Josh before returning her attention to the computer.
"Hmm... In this place, I don’t have to pretend."
"I see..." Josh’s face lost its playful expression as he stopped a few steps from her desk.
He sighed before continuing, "Aurora, since you work here, I won’t go undercover again. Boss Alex asked me to return to my team, and I will start today. You may not see me often as I work in the shadows."
Aurora’s attention was drawn after hearing Josh’s sentence. There was concern radiating from her gaze as she looked at Josh.
"Josh, did Alex punish you?" Aurora asked with concern.
"Punish?" Josh inquired, his expression puzzled. "Why did Boss Alex feel the need to punish me? Absolutely not, but I’ll keep watch over both of you outside, not within this building."
"I’m just saying... maybe because you ignored my challenge?"
In an instant, Josh’s expression became strained. "Challenge..."
"Hmm, perhaps he’s upset about that. You’re ignoring me... and pretending to be unwell. Seriously, you think I believe that?" Aurora laughed when she noticed his eyes flicker.
She wanted to share her true identity, but this man played sick on the day they were meant to duel. Since then, she decided to forget her plan to reveal it to him.
"Oh, come on! Boss Alex didn’t even bring it up. I think he backed me up on not wanting to duel with you. He was just a bit worried that I might get too carried away and accidentally hurt you..." Josh flashed a cheeky grin.
"I’m not that weak, you know. Remember how I handled that gangster at my parents’ house?"
A playful grin appeared on Josh’s face.
"Oh, so you’re admitting it was you who defeated them?" he inquired.
"Well, I never said it wasn’t me. I’m just saying, they are too weak..."
"Fine! Let’s try to duel then..." Josh said.
Aurora gently shook her head. She decided she wouldn’t go along with that any longer.
"No need. I already know you are afraid of me because I’m too strong for you to handle, right?"
"What... Hahaha, you are so funny."
"Alright, you can leave me alone; I really need to focus on my work here."
She smiled playfully at him and waved her hand cheerfully.
"You win, Aurora!"
Josh laughed playfully as he left the room.
