Chapter 185: Act as a Matchmaker

"Pft!" Danny was also surprised to hear Renata’s vulgar questions. "What kind of question is that Rena?" he asked, shaking his head.

However, Danny’s gaze now landed on Aurora. Deep down in his heart, he also wanted to know about it.

Danny was unaware, but felt like he was competing with Alexander Graystone.

He understood he could never win against someone who had been married seven times, like Alex. Competing for a seventh marriage was an accomplishment he felt was beyond his reach.

Renata narrowed her eyes at Danny, frustration enveloping her after hearing his question. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

"Why not ask something like that? As someone who often gossips about Alex with Rory, I need to know about it," Renata said casually before turning her gaze back to Aurora.

Renata opened her mouth to say something, but halted when she saw that Aurora’s face had turned a boiling red, looking very flushed.

Suddenly, her laughter burst forth. She didn’t need to hear Aurora’s response; she already knew the answer.

"What the...? Why are you laughing, Rena?" Danny asked, bewildered.

Danny was not the only one who was confused; Aurora was also. She voiced her confusion after trying to hide her shock at Renata’s straightforward question.

"Did something funny happen? Or... are you feeling a bit hungry now, Rena? I’d love to cook something for us!"

"Hahaha, no, no, Rory! But I knew Alex must be GOOD in bed when I saw your expression. Damn! Congrats, girl... You really hit the jackpot this time! I’m a bit envious of you!!"

Renata slowly raised her thumbs toward Aurora with a bright smile to compliment her.

Aurora felt utterly at a loss for words. She had thought she was safe from Renata’s playful teasing, but she was mistaken.

...

Aurora cannot help but share with Renata about her lovely married life with Alex.

They were having such a joyful chat that they completely overlooked someone else in the room: Danny.

Danny sat quietly in his chair, preoccupied with his thoughts and activities, tuning out the two women as they happily gossiped about Alex.

However, shortly after, Danny could no longer resist interrupting them.

"Can you both stop discussing Alex’s abs? I feel like a gay instantly thinking about how perfect and flawless he was," Danny said, shaking his head in frustration.

"Oh shit... sorry, Danny, I forgot you were still here," Renata grinned while casting her apologetic gaze at Danny.

Aurora couldn’t help but stifle a laugh. She realizes she has also forgotten that Danny is still sitting with them.

"It’s okay... It’s okay... but really, we need to switch topics. Please stop mentioning Alex. It just frustrates me, and I genuinely wanted to get married as well," Danny laughed bitterly while placing his cell phone on the table.

"Damn it, Danny! This time, I completely agree with you..." Renata smiled faintly and continued. "Listening to how in love Rory is now, and how happy their marriage is... It makes me believe it’s time to search for my future husband!"

Overhearing their conversation, Aurora suppressed a smile as she glanced at them, waiting for the ideal opportunity to act as a matchmaker.

Even though Aurora faced challenges in the past, neither of her two friends had imagined they would marry each other. However, this time, she’s ready to give it another shot!

"Yeah, I believe this is the right moment to find a wife as well," Danny replies, nodding in agreement with Renata. A slight frown creases his well-cared forehead as if he is pondering something.

For a while, they both devised their plan to find a partner, completely forgetting that Aurora was present and listening to them.

After a while, Aurora finally chimed in.

"Rena, Danny... May I propose something?" Aurora calls out to them. Once she has their attention, she adds, "It’s time for both of you to be honest with your hearts. Why not get engaged and married?"

At that moment, Renata and Danny let out a surprised gasp, staring at Aurora.

Their expressions resemble each other enough to make Aurora laugh.

"Are you kidding, right, Rory?" Renata said with a playful smile. "Danny and I? I told you before... I never imagined marrying him."

"Rory, don’t bother to think that. Rena will never choose me," Danny responded while brushing his hand in the air. "She always said I was not her option; even though the apocalypse is near, she will never agree to marry me."

Danny shook his head helplessly. Though he wanted to be with her, he couldn’t force her, right?

Renata shot a glare at Danny, her eyes filled with silent protest. Yet, mere seconds later, her glare melted away, and a soft laugh slipped from her lips.

"Rena, you’re nearing thirty-four. Did you know that your chances of having a child might decrease?" Aurora attempts to remind her, but Renata brushes it off.

Renata redirects the conversation. "Rory, does your father know about your rebirth?" she asked.

Renata’s question took Aurora by surprise! Meeting both Renata and Danny made her forget all about Alex. She really wanted to check her cell phone, but she couldn’t remember where she had put it.

"Oh, you’re right, Rena..." Danny adds. He wonders what will happen to Aurora’s father.

Aurora clenches her hands tightly before sharing her plan to bring her father to stay with them. However, she does not mention Andrew Graystone, who orchestrated her car incident.

"Alex is now meeting his Grandpa to plead for it. I hope he agrees and lets my dad stay with us here."

"I pray for you, girl. I hope Uncle Thomas will move here with you," Renata said.

"Did he know about your rebirth?" Danny asked.

Aurora shook her head, a thoughtful expression crossing her face. "Not yet. But I guess Alex will tell him if possible. And if not, he will try to give him a hint here and there, hoping he will figure it out himself."

"It would be challenging if he lived there," Renata remarked. "Since you both will likely interact much less frequently."

"Yeah... that’s why I need him here. And he will stay in this house too..." Aurora smiles at Renata.

"That sounds good. At least staying here will surround him with many people who care for him. So he will be less likely to feel alone." Danny added.
