Re-Awakening with the Summoner's Class-Chapter 42: Stuck
Chapter 42: Stuck
"Think about it, one of the four gates was a tundra, so the Ice Golems came from there, and the other was the throne room of a Goblin King."
They gasped at this revelation, which meant that the level of the gate was now way higher than it would be otherwise.
"Great! Like killing Hydra alone wasn't hard enough!"
The tank scratched the back of his head, sweat falling down his face. It was obvious that it was bugging him heavily.
He stood up and sighed loudly, heading back into the tunnel without a word.
"Hey! Where are you going?"
Nyssa held onto his arm which was enough to grab his attention. While that was happening, Gloppy was finishing off the fight against the monsters.
Amelia and Leo were right behind the brawler, concerned about what the whole commotion was about.
Trevor looked at all of them before speaking. His hands trembled and the heaviness of the situation weighed on him.
"I didn't sign up for this, I'm going back out."
There was no stopping him, even if they forced him to stay, he wouldn't cooperate. She sighed before letting him go.
They all watched as he descended into the tunnel, seeing him get smaller the farther he got.
"We might have a problem, guys!"
The tank shouted from the bottom, the three of them looked at each other before running down to see what was he talking about.
It was the gate, he tried to leave it but it didn't let him no matter how hard he tried to.
[Gate access restricted]
He punched the portal with all his might, but it didn't bud an inch. Instead, it reflected the energy back at him and knocked the elderly man to the ground.
Leo tried to pass, but it didn't work either, everyone gave it a try and the outcome was the same.
[Gloppy, can you get down here and help us with something?]
While they waited for him to get down, Leo helped the older man get back up on his feet.
This wasn't easy since the armor weighed more than the summoner himself. But with the Balanced Overdrive and a serpent, they got him back on his feet.
Gloppy walked back to the entrance and tried to pass once Leo caught him up to speed, to their surprise he could pass without a problem.
"But why can he pass and we can't! The only difference is that he is a monster..."
Amelia said, only understanding the implications of that once she finished it. Sweat fell all over their faces as Leo ran outside and grabbed the corpse of one of the monsters they had killed earlier.
'Please let it just be us being paranoid...'
He threw it towards the portal. For a moment, all of them felt like time had slowed down completely while the carcass was in the air.
It passed through the gate without a problem and the reality of it kicked in.
"Wa-wait! Dhoes that mean that monshterhs can phass through?"
Amelia said under her nose, her voice was barely a whisper.
If it stopped at this, the problem would be way smaller than it was, but on top of monsters being able to leave, they weren't able to.
Leo looked at the three slime girls and inhaled deeply.
"You will go outside and let everybody know not to enter."
Sapphire nodded and was about to leave, but was stopped by Ruby.
"And why do you think we would do that rather than fight?"
Her attitude wasn't something they needed right now, as all of them were already stressed from the gate's silent breach.
The summoner walked over to her with a calm face and went down to one knee which shocked her.

"Please, we need you to do that."
He dropped his head down to show his sincerity, shocking all of the summons at a summoner like that.
It was unheard of for someone with this profession to treat them this way, a n his action didn't feel like it had any malicious intent behind it.
Ruby frowned and left the gate through the portal.
"Just don't get yourself killed, idiot Master."
Her tone dropped to a whisper, and just like that they were left as a 6 person group.
"They will take care of the overflowing monsters, we are going to beat this stage."
Leo said and turned back to the exit of the tunnel. Now it turned from a race before the breach happens, to a race before the military can no longer prevent the monsters from attacking.
"Should we split up Master Leo?"
The Fearmonger asked while floating above them. It sounded like a good idea to Leo as they didn't even know where to start with the gate.
"Sure, you go with Gloppy and Nyssa, I'll go with those two, let me know as soon as you find anything."
Nyssa pouted as they split apart, but he didn't feel like dealing with her tantrums now as he was stressing over the reason for everything that happened so far.
There were two obvious ways in which they could go, one being the frozen path from where the Ice Golems came, the other being the direction from which the Murlocks rode.
He pointed towards the ice road.
"You will go this way since you can fly. And we will take this path."
With that, they were set, going their separate ways.

"I hate how emphty this is! We've beehn whalking fhor phast two hours!"
Amelia complained while leaning on Leo's back, weird sounds coming out of her as she tried to hold herself together.
How exactly did the scared-of-men Amelia get on his back?
It was a thing many of us might have experienced, especially in an uneven terrain such as this.
She had sprained her ankle during their walk.
"And why exactly can't you just heal it with your magic?"
Annoyed Leo asked while fixing her position on his back.
"I chan't jhust heal it with my maghic! It's a sthatus condhition!!!"
She slapped his head, her face was fully red due to being so close to a man.
Blood dripped out of her nose as she sniffed in his smell. The summoner looked back and got worried.
"Oh shit you are bleeding, are you okay?"
Leo stopped and put her on the ground, now her face didn't resemble that of a woman of fate but a lecherous one.
"Yeahs, everything is fhine..."
Trevor sighed loudly and picked her up, putting her under his arm with her body facing backward.
"I know how to deal with these so let's just continue, I want to finish this as fast as possible."
His hands trembled from fear as they heard the sound of Murlocks screaming.
They ran forward and climbed a nearby mangrove to hide in its branches. In front of them was an enormous village of Murlocks, but that didn't even grab their attention.
Something much bigger, much scarier did.
A Corrupt Crystal a few meters in height stood in the middle of the village. There were purple chains emitting from it into the deeper parts of the swamp where the terrifying screech of a Hydra could be heard.
