Chapter 495: Chapter 495 Commander Li

The doctor carefully examined Lily Turner again, confirmed that the baby in her belly was fine, and agreed that she could go home for rest.

Upon learning that she could finally leave the hospital, Lily happily hugged Easton Holmes, her charming face brimming with a radiant smile, "Honey! We can finally go home."

Just the thought of being able to go home made her extremely excited and happy.

The excitement was evident in the woman’s demeanor, and Easton was even more thrilled than she was, because it was the first time she had actively hugged him so joyfully. Seeing her happy, his mood also became particularly cheerful.

"Homeward bound."

After completing the discharge procedures, Easton took Lily out of the hospital and drove straight to the Military District Compound.

The two of them didn’t go to their own home but went to her grandfather’s house.

"Old Mr. Linton! Look who’s back!"

Auntie Li, upon opening the door and seeing Easton and Lily returning from the hospital, without much ado, turned her head and happily shouted towards the living room.

Hearing Auntie Li’s joyful call, Callix Linton thought it was his son Michael Linton returning. He quickly got up and walked out of the living room, but when he came out, it was Easton and Lily he saw.

"What brings you back?"

Not seeing his son left him with some feeling of disappointment.

"Grandpa! Are you not happy to see us back?" Lily walked over and affectionately looped her arm through Callix’s, "We’ve been gone just one day, and you’re already done with us?"

She tilted her head, examining Grandpa Linton with curiosity, as she noticed a flash of disappointment in his eyes just a moment ago.

What exactly was Grandpa Linton disappointed about? Could it be he was expecting someone?

To cover up his earlier disappointment, Callix gently tapped Lily’s forehead, "You little heartless girl! All my recent affection for you was in vain."

Though his words were scolding, his face betrayed a smile that he couldn’t conceal.

"Grandpa! I just got back and you’re already hitting me, so it turns out you really don’t like me anymore." To match her current mood, Lily immediately put on a pitiful look, "I’m so pitiful!"

But she couldn’t keep up the act, and after a while, she burst out laughing.

Callix had known all along that Lily was just pretending, but he didn’t want to expose her. He was planning to play along a bit further.

However, before he had a chance to play his part, she had already broken character.

"Girl! Couldn’t you pretend a bit longer? I haven’t even started acting yet." Seeing her return safe and sound made him particularly happy.

"Hmm? Act what?"

Lily looked puzzled, not understanding Callix’s words.

Callix smiled mysteriously, "Guess!"

"How could I guess what you’re thinking, old chap? Just tell me, or I’ll waste my brain cells; which are already insufficient." Lily shook Callix’s arm, self-deprecatingly begging him to tell her.

Ding-dong!

At that moment, the doorbell suddenly rang.

At the sound of someone outside pressing the doorbell, the image of Amelia Linton flashed through Lily’s mind, and thinking that it might very well be her, the smile on her face vanished, replaced by anxiety.

"Old Mr. Linton! Commander Linton is back."

Just as Lily’s mind was full of Amelia, Auntie Li’s excited voice came from the door. She quickly lifted her head, full of confusion as she glanced towards the entrance, only to see a man in a military uniform walking in.
