Chapter 494: Chapter 494: You’re Getting Bolder

Thomas Fisher just said something that left Easton Holmes with a big question mark in his heart. Did Benjamin Shaw really not misunderstand them? That’s something he really couldn’t say for sure.

"Don’t let your sister-in-law know about these things."

No matter the situation, he didn’t want her to know. She needed to keep away from those troublesome matters for now.

"Got it."

Although Thomas Fisher didn’t know what Easton Holmes was really thinking, he nodded. His previous reckless behavior had already made the three of them taste the ’consequences.’

His elder brother wanted to beat him up, and his sister-in-law blamed him, even ’kicking’ him out of the house. He almost scared the goddess Lily Turner out of her wits.

After chatting idly with Thomas Fisher for a few more minutes, Easton Holmes then ushered him out because he estimated that Lily Turner would wake up soon. It was better if she didn’t see Thomas Fisher.

Easton Holmes returned to the hospital room with the things he was carrying and had barely sat down on the sofa when Lily Turner woke up. He stood and walked over to her, "You’re awake!"

While talking to her, he also poured her some water. Once he finished, he helped her sit up, "Get up and have some water first." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

He reached over and picked up the freshly poured water, holding it up to her face.

"I’m not that delicate; you don’t have to treat me like a pampered princess." Lily Turner felt quite touched by how Easton Holmes treated her, silently vowing to herself that she would treat him well in the future.

"I don’t know what a pampered princess is; I only know you’re my wife." He reached out to pinch her cheek, then placed the cup of water in her hand, "Drink up!"

Lily Turner merely glanced at the man pinching her cheek and, unlike usual, didn’t swat his hand away. She picked up the cup and started drinking the water, not saying a word throughout the whole process.

Easton Holmes was surprised that his hand wasn’t swatted away; her silent response also puzzled him.

Something was off, which was his immediate judgment about her.

"Could you ask the doctor when I can be discharged?" After finishing half the cup, Lily Turner suddenly looked up, asking Easton Holmes to find the doctor. She felt her stomach seemed fine. If the doctor said so, she wanted to be discharged immediately and go home.

She felt uneasy about him taking leave just to accompany her at the hospital. He had so much military work to handle every day, and staying here would only delay his duties.

From Lily Turner’s eyes, Easton Holmes saw worry and anxiety, his eyebrows slightly furrowed, "Want to go home?"

He understood her worries, but what exactly was causing her anxiety? He wanted to ask but was afraid of adding mental pressure on her.

"Yeah!" Lily Turner reached out to push Easton Holmes, who hadn’t moved for a while, urging him, "Hurry and ask."

As she spoke, she gave him another gentle push.

"Alright, alright, stop pushing me."

Easton Holmes sighed helplessly, turned around, and walked towards the door. As he reached it, he suddenly heard Lily Turner call out behind him, "Don’t just stand outside and then come back pretending, okay? If I find out you’re lying to me, I’ll take your daughter and run away."

Though her words seemed threatening, there was a smile at the corners of her mouth.

Hearing Lily Turner’s threat, Easton Holmes suddenly stopped, turned around to look at her, and in that moment, she quickly hid her smile, but his sharp eyes caught it.

"Wifey! You’re getting bolder and bolder."

He pointed at her playfully, then turned and opened the door to leave the room. As he stepped out, a charming curve formed at his lips.
