Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 466: Big Sister Takes Action 6
Easton Holmes and Benjamin Shaw are best friends, something Sophia Wood was completely unaware of. Hearing this fact from Alice Turner, she was very surprised.
"That kid with the last name Holmes is best friends with Benjamin?" Sophia’s face was full of astonishment, making it hard for her to digest the situation all at once.
"Yes! They’ve been friends for many years." After Alice said that, her gaze suddenly shifted to the phone in Sophia’s hand, "Mom! Can you give me my phone back first?"
She was worried that if she didn’t get her phone back, things would be exposed, and her mother wasn’t suitable to talk with her sister right now.
That would cause them to quarrel, and her sister couldn’t handle such emotional swings at the moment.
Sophia was still in shock from the previous situation. Hearing Alice ask for her phone back, she returned it to Alice in a daze without saying anything.
Alice had expected to say more to retrieve her phone, but the outcome surprised her greatly; still, she didn’t dwell too much on the matter.
After getting her phone back, she immediately hung up and quickly composed a text message to send to Lily Turner on the other end.
"I’ll call you back!"
The message was just a simple four words.
Though brief, Lily understood her sister Alice’s intention upon receiving the text and sensed something amiss.
Sis isn’t answering the phone; it must be inconvenient for her to take this call.
What’s going on with Sis on her end? Could she have argued with Mom over my matter?
No way!
Mom and Sister have such a good relationship; Mom wouldn’t bear to argue with Sister and doesn’t even speak harshly to her normally.
Then what’s really going on?
Buzz buzz buzz!
Hearing the phone buzzing, Lily thought it might be Alice calling back, but when she picked up the phone to answer, she was instantly disappointed.
The call wasn’t from Alice but from an unfamiliar number. She glanced at the string of blinking numbers on the screen and got out of bed to find Easton Holmes.
At this moment, Easton was chatting with Thomas Fisher not far from the doorway. Seeing Lily come out, he thought she was in some trouble and quickly walked over to her.
"What’s wrong?"
His footsteps were rushed, and his tone was even more urgent.
"Someone called you."
Lily raised her hand holding the phone. That’s when Easton noticed the buzzing phone and, with a sigh of relief, reached out to take the phone she was handing him.
Easton took the phone, gave it a glance, and without hesitation, hung up the call. After hanging up, he put the phone back in his pocket.
Seeing this, Lily quickly reached out to stop him, "I still need to wait for my sister to call me back."
As she spoke, she held onto his hand with the phone.
"You still need to wait for your sister’s call?"
Easton wasn’t questioning anything but was concerned about Lily. He didn’t know what the sisters were discussing earlier, but seeing her anxious and worried expression, he figured it wasn’t a happy matter.
Lily nodded, "Yes! My sister said she would call me back later."
She tried to take the phone from his hand, but his grip was firm, and she couldn’t get the phone from his hand.
"I’ll give you the phone when your sister calls later; I need to use it now."
Easton freed his hand from Lily’s grip, and just as he did, his phone started buzzing again, as if on cue to match his timing.
