Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 452: Husband and Wife United 2
Easton Holmes had just pulled back the quilt when Lily Turner immediately reached out and tugged it back, but instead of covering her head with it again, she tucked it around her neck.
"You’re the one who smells!"
She knew full well he didn’t mean it that way, but still, with her back to him, she retorted unhappily.
"Do I smell?"
In a sudden move, Easton Holmes leaned over, worried about pressing on Lily Turner’s stomach, his hands supporting on either side of her body.
Lily Turner was startled, raising a hand to press against Easton Holmes’ chest to stop him from coming any closer, "Let’s not mess around, I really want to sleep for a bit."
She decided not to continue discussing the issue of body odor with him; a wise person doesn’t suffer a loss in front of them, especially since she’s a gentle lady.
"Then I’ll sleep with you for a while."
Easton Holmes turned over to lie beside her, wrapped an arm around her and the quilt, pulling her into his embrace.
Lily Turner didn’t pettily push away the man holding her, nor did she say anything. She quietly let the man hold her.
Easton Holmes tightened his arm, holding the woman in his embrace closer. It was as if he had an unspoken agreement with her, remaining silent, just quietly holding her.
Neither of them spoke again, and the room turned silent, but the atmosphere didn’t feel awkward at all; instead, it carried a silent harmony.
Bzz bzz bzz!
The sudden vibration of a phone broke the wonderfully quiet atmosphere.
Easton Holmes took out the buzzing phone from his pocket. Knowing Lily Turner wasn’t actually asleep, he didn’t bother to get up and move away.
He took a glance at the phone, and upon seeing the name and number displayed, his handsome brows suddenly furrowed.
The call was from Fabian Holmes. Easton Holmes just glanced at it and hung up without hesitation.
Bzz bzz bzz!
Shortly after he hung up, the phone rang again. He looked at it to see it was still his father calling.
This time, Easton Holmes didn’t hang up so quickly, instead staring at the flashing number on the screen dazedly before finally hanging up.
The caller seemed persistent, waiting a moment before calling for the third time.
Bzz bzz bzz!
Easton Holmes ignored the vibrating phone in his hand this time, choosing to disregard it entirely.
However, Lily Turner, held in his arms, couldn’t ignore his behavior. She slowly turned towards him.
"Who’s calling? Why aren’t you answering?"
As she asked, she instinctively glanced down at the phone in his hand. Since the screen was facing his palm, she couldn’t see who was calling.
"Don’t worry about it, it’s not important."
Easton Holmes said casually, but only he knew what he really felt inside.
Lily Turner looked at the phone in his hand and then at him, feeling that this call wasn’t as simple as he made it out to be.
"If you have something to attend to, go ahead. Don’t worry about me, I can take care of myself." Not knowing who the call was from, she wildly speculated in her mind, thinking it might be someone from the army calling, and he wasn’t picking up because he was concerned about her being in the hospital.
"Mrs. Holmes! Does your husband know how independent you are?" Easton Holmes looked down at her in his arms, his stern face quite serious at that moment, fully serious.
