Chapter 84: The Lady Princess

That Sunday morning, the servants in Asteria palace were busy with the decorations. The main banquet hall would be the venue for the party. One side of the hall was a foldable wall and it was linked to the East Side garden. In the middle of the garden was a pond with water lilies and lotus flowers in full bloom. The pond was circular in shape but it wasn’t a perfect circle as some edges were crooked.

In the middle of the pond was a gazebo that could seat six people. There were two bridges connected to the gazebo. A few servants were decking the gazebo with gauze curtains and putting flowers on the four pillars that supported the roof of the gazebo.

At the other side of the palace, a dance instructor was teaching Amaya the traditional Lireyan Dance. She would be dancing the traditional dance as she moved from one man to another to receive a single rose from eighteen young bachelors.

Amaya was a fast learner. She was able to master her steps after three rounds of practice. Her governess Clarissa forced Amaya to take a rest after the practice.

When she went back to her room, her personal maid Lilia handed her two packages. Amaya checked the gift card and it came from Marx. She opened the box and it was a dark blue evening gown accentuated with silver sequins in the shape of stars. At the bottom of the box were five centimeters a pair of silver glass shoes and a small velvet box.

Amaya opened the box and was mesmerized by the piece of jewelry inside. A small heart-shaped diamond framed by silver, encrusted with tiny diamond studs was supporting an inverted heart-shaped black opal. The opal pendant was also encased with diamond-encrusted silver. The opal heart was slightly bigger than the diamond heart thus, one’s eyes would be naturally drawn to the dark blue brilliance of the opal. The pendant was suspended on a silver chain.

"Princess, it is very beautiful." Lilia clasped her hand as her dazzled gaze focused on the necklace.

Amaya looked at the box and she noticed there was a name. It read ’Everlasting Love.’

Marx commissioned Hugo, the most sought-after designer in Usturia to design the dress, the shoes, and the necklace for Amaya. Hugo named his creation Everlasting Love and cost a whooping one million Usturian dollars.

Amaya tried the dress and it was a perfect fit. She put on the shoes and it was very comfortable. She asked Lilia’s help to put on the necklace and even Amaya held her breath when she saw her reflection in the mirror. She almost did not recognize herself. The gown was very beautiful. A forlorn look appeared on her face.

"I already have a gown to wear."

"Princess, you can wear that after the eighteen roses dance. Most debutants will change into a new outfit. I wondered why only one gown was prepared for you. Maybe it is because of lack of time."

"That’s great then. I’ll be able to wear this beautiful ensemble."

"Princess, that Marx Skylar does not just like you but he really dotes on you."

Amaya’s face brightened. "Yes. He is my first ever human friend."

Lilia was confused by Amaya’s words but she did not think too much about it. "I don’t think he is treating you just as a friend. He likes you. I can see it in his eyes every time he looks at you, Princess."

"I like him too," Amaya uttered nonchalantly.

"Help me change into a robe. It is time for my bath. The make-up artist and the stylist will soon be here."

"Princess, you did not open the second package." Lilia pointed to a smaller box placed on the bedside table.

Amaya asked Lilia to open it for her. "These are some documents, Princess." She handed the document to her.

Amaya glanced at the documents. The first set was the deed of sale of the island owned by Earl Anishton. The second one was the documents on Di’s Treasures. The company’s product lines would be jewelry, perfumes, soaps, oil essentials, and bath necessities. Marx suggested to Aryana call the Jewelry line ’Simply Jewel.’

Simply Jewel was originally a partnership between her and Marx. She doesn’t know anything about business but Marx told her that he will handle everything for her while she was still in school. Marx has already signed the documents and it just lacked hers. Simply Jewel was a corporation where Amaya was the biggest shareholder. Dave and Karl joined them as minor shareholders.

Amaya stuffed the documents in the drawer of her bedside table. She will sign those the following day.

There was a knock on the door and Lilia let in the group who will handle Amaya’s makeup and who will dress her up.

When the tiara was placed on top of her head, two hours has passed. The stylist put on the shoes that her Aunt Nelida prepared for her. It matched her pink gown and the height was also just around 5 centimeters. The shoes were tapered at the toe area it would become uncomfortable after some time.

One of the event organizers was assigned to guide Amaya along the way. After all, everyone knew that this was her first birthday party and no one wanted a mishap. The party was both her coming-of-age and her welcoming party. The Royal Family will officially introduce her as the First Princess of Lireya. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

The event organizer who was assigned to her was called Eliana. She was a famous event organizer who catered to the nobles of Lireya. She brought Amaya behind the huge mahogany double door. It was tightly shut to create an air of suspense.

"Princess, all your guests have arrived and waiting for you at the banquet hall. At the end of the countdown and at my queue you will enter the door."

Amaya nodded. She felt nervous and unconsciously she was clutching the skirt of her gown. She heard the deep magnetic voice of the master of ceremonies call her name.

The enormous door of the banquet hall opened and lively music filled the air. Amaya with a broad smile walked inside the hall with her back straight as a rod. She held her head high just as she was taught to do so.

She scanned the room to see familiar faces. She smiled when she saw Julienne, Raymundo, and a few of her teachers and classmates. Even Samantha and Ardana were there. Her eyes continue to roam until they rested on the deep blue of Marx’s orbs. She relaxed and gave him a slight wave.

She was ushered into an elevated platform where a lavishly decorated couch was placed in the middle.

Amaya elegantly sat on the couch maintaining a smile on her face. The ceremony started with the playing of the Lireyan National Anthem. The Crown Prince and the King of Lireya gave their speeches. They both spoke about Amaya, and how they thought that she was lost but was found.

"We were devastated when we learned that the plane that my daughter-in-law and my grandchild boarded did not just crash but exploded mid-air. At that time, we announced to the whole of Lireya that we lost our grandchild and our daughter-in-law to that tragedy. Who would have thought that after almost eighteen years, my granddaughter came back to us!"

"And today, we are not only celebrating her return as the First Princess of LIreya but we also celebrate her coming age."

"People of Lireya and our beloved guests, it is my honor to present to you, my grandaughter, The First Princess Amaya Rocas of Lireya."

The entire hall was filled with resounding applause. Amaya approached her grandfather and she accorded him a bow. Amaya then faced the audience and bowed again.

The king presented a token to Amaya. The token symbolized Amaya’s status as the First Princess of Lireya.

At the front of the stage, Princess Consort Nelida glared at Amaya under hooded eyes. That token should have been Danella’s but because she was still alive then it fell into her hands.

"Mother, why is Grandpa giving Amaya that token? Isn’t that mine?" Danella pouted.

Nelida signaled with her eyes and was telling Danella to keep quiet. Danella understood that look and she shut her mouth. The resentment in her heart however was apparent.

After the king presented the token to Amaya, the birthday party started. Prince Ibarra was requested to go up the stage to have the first dance with the debutante. The crown prince was a superb dancer. He led Amaya smoothly in the traditional Lireyan dance.

"You are very beautiful tonight my dear daughter." Prince Ibarra told her while they were dancing.

"Thank you Daddy. You danced pretty well."

After the father and daughter dance, the master of ceremonies asked Amaya to go down to the dance floor. The eighteen men whom she needed to dance with already formed a circle around her. Each carried a white rose.

Her eyes landed on a pair of very dark brown eyes that they were almost black. The man’s gaze was so cold that Amaya shuddered.
