Raised From The Wild-Chapter 51: Visiting The Island
Dave was shocked by Amaya’s action.
"Please don’t tell my family that I ate like this, especially Daddy Ibrahim. Well, there are only the two of you here so I don’t need to follow those etiquettes." She said guiltily.
Marx chuckled. "Continue eating your food. I will not tell. However, you should start acting like a princess."
"But I don’t like to be a princess. It is not fun at all." She said pouting her lips and she looked very cute. Even Dave started to like her cuteness.
Amaya use her hand to pick up the fried chicken. She took a bite and enjoyed the crunchy delicious taste. She finished the first drumstick in no time. She looked at the spaghetti on her plate with gusto. It was her first time eating such food.
She took her spoon and scooped the spaghetti but the long noodles would not fit in her spoon and they soon fall back onto the plate. She tried a second time but she got the same results.
Marx took the fork from her. He worked out a few strands of spaghetti onto the fork then he twirled the noodles around the fork and bring it up to Aryana’s mouth. Amaya opened her mouth wide and eat the spaghetti."
Dave’s eyes became wide as saucers and his jaw dropped. He felt a glare coming from his side so he busied himself with his food.
"So this is how you eat spaghetti." Amaya took the fork from Marx and copied what he did earlier. She is a fast learner and did not need to be taught twice. She was able to gracefully twirl the pasta into the fork.
She enjoyed the twirling and the taste of the spaghetti and her plate was clean in no time. "This is a very good restaurant and I love the food." She said happily.
"Are you done? Why did you eat so fast?" Dave asked.
"Huh? That wasn’t fast. In fact, that was only normal." Amaya responded. She wondered why Dave think that she was fast.
Dave could not believe that Amaya finished eating ahead of him. ’This child really doesn’t have finesse.’ He wanted to voice out his opinion but decided to keep it to himself.
They get back to the road after having a sumptuous lunch. Amaya was a little bit sleepy but she fought to be awake because she wanted to enjoy the scenery.
Soon they reached a narrow bridge that was about 30 meters long. From a distance, Amaya could see the raging river as it rose over and the seawater noses beneath the outflowing river water, pushing its way upstream along the bottom.
She was reminded of a similar scene in Miraga. Maybe she will not miss her little island after all.
Marx was silently observing Amaya. His lips curved up slightly when he saw Amaya wearing a happy expression while watching the estuary where the river and the sea met.
After passing through the bridge, the road became bumpy. Amaya did not notice that they were approaching a sharp curve. She was unprepared. The driver hit the break to slow down before turning left sharply. Amaya was thrown into Marx who encircled his arms around her to keep her steady.
Amaya felt that Marx was warm and she liked it. She also smelled his cologne. She buried her head in his neck to enjoy his scent.
"Hmm, I really like your scent. You smell so good," she said innocently, then she covered her mouth as if she said something wrong. She remembered Marx warning her not to say such words to men.
The driver hit hard on the break. Amaya could have been thrown forward if not for the Marx reflexes. He held her tightly.
"Driver carefully." Marx snapped at the driver.
"I’m sorry." the driver was sweating. He dare not look into the mirror, afraid of what he might see.
"Don’t blame the driver. Princess, you shouldn’t say such kind of words. We almost got into an accident." Dave said seriously but he was laughing inside. He wanted to take a photo of Marx but he cannot turn around as he would be obvious.
Marx gently pushed Amaya away from him. The moment she settled on her seat, Marx regretted pushing her away. He suddenly felt empty and he missed her sweet scent.
Amaya was oblivious to Marx’s thoughts. She was busy looking around. At a distance, there were two mountains. One is bigger than the other. The peak of the bigger mountain resembled that of a woman lying down prone, while the smaller mountain was a perfect cone. Nestled at the foot of the two mountains was a huge plain covered with grass. Toward the west, there was a lone old castle and the convoy of three vehicles was heading to the castle.
The castle has no fence so they went directly and parked in front of the main entrance. Amaya studied the exterior of that castle and it showed signs of neglect. Even the garden was filled with weeds and vines have overgrown.
"Is no one taking care of the castle now?" Amaya inquired from Marx.
"Yes. There are only the old Earl, his wife, and two servants."
Dave lifted the iron ring at the door and used it to knock. After a few minutes, the door was opened by a man in his late fifties.
"Come in. The Earl of Anishton is waiting for you in the study."
Dave, Marx, and Amaya followed the old man. Two of the royal guards followed them inside while the rest stayed outside.
They did not walk long as the study was just near the living room.
When they entered the study, an old man with gray hair was sitting on a big chair behind a mahogany table. The study looked gloomy because most of the furniture was dark colored. The old man has also a dark aura surrounding him. His deep-set eyes looked fierce and his piercing gaze was directed at Amaya.
Amaya shuddered. She was not used to such a gaze. Her daddy would always look at her gently and Marx also did the same.
This old man looked at her like the old lion back in Miraga would look at his prey.
