Chapter 412: Sofia’s Charm, Erick’s Genius

King Ralden was a disciplined man, a trait that defined his reign. He never mixed business with pleasure. Thus, his throne room was always reserved for business.

Ralden understood that his role as a monarch was steeped in responsibility. He meticulously reserved this throne room solely for matters of state, never allowing the distractions of pleasure or frivolity to intrude upon the serious dealings of governance.

But seeing his expectant, beautiful wife, he could not wait and wanted to indulge in the call of the flesh.

The king’s intuition led him to suspect that Sofia had cunningly infused her perfume with an aphrodisiac, an intoxicating scent that stirred his intrigue and delight. Rather than feeling angry at her boldness, he was captivated, almost enchanted.

At that moment, the king realized that the anger bubbling within him due to the report he had received a while ago needed an outlet. What better way to channel his frustrations than surrendering to the most primal of human desires?

The air was thick with anticipation. He felt that he was back to his teenage years as he considered the alluring game they were playing, one that ignited a fierce longing deep in his soul.

It was the first time he did it on his throne, and a surge of power coursed through him as he observed the warm, flushed expression of contentment spreading across Sofia’s delicate features. She was so young, her skin so smooth and supple, radiating an almost ethereal sweetness that captivated him completely.

Once they had indulged themselves to the brink of exhaustion, Sofia, her hair tousled and her clothing slightly askew, took a deep breath and readied herself to deliver the unwelcome news to King Ralden.

"Lireya had imposed a significant sanction on our operations, cutting off all shipments of the immune booster, My King!" She said with regret.

Without the key product, they could no longer repackage and market the supplement at a higher price. It was another avenue of income being cut off.

King Ralden had foreseen this moment with clarity. With a gentle touch, he cupped Sofia’s radiant face in his hands, his fingers brushing against her soft skin. His voice, smooth and harmonious like a lilting melody, filled the air as he spoke:

"Let Zanzara address the problem at hand. It’s time for her to begin contributing her skills and efforts; otherwise, her position as queen holds little significance and purpose."

"But she is pregnant with your son, My King," Sofia said coquettishly.

"Does she need to do the heavy lifting when asking her relatives in Lireya to lift the sanction? Besides, I really do not look forward to that son. I am afraid he would inherit his mother’s level of intellect!"

"I know what to do, My King!" Sofia tiptoed and kissed King Ralden on the lips before exiting the throne room with a radiant smile.

King Ralden watched intently as Sofia stepped out of the throne room. His thoughts raced with clarity, each one more vivid than the last.

Sofia was extraordinarily intelligent and shrewd; her beauty was striking, with an enchanting allure that turned heads. She was his equal in every way—sharp-witted and poised, she embodied the qualities of a true queen. He imagined her ruling alongside him, a formidable partner who could navigate the complexities of the kingdom with strength and elegance.

She was unlike the useless Zanzara, who could not even get the funding for the orphanage.

"Your Majesty, your son-in-law would like to seek your audience." The guard outside announced.

The king consented, and a tall, slender man came and bowed politely to the king. He had a pretty face, especially since it was fair and smooth. If he sported long hair and cross-dressed as a woman, he would be even more beautiful than Queen Zanzara.

"Father, we are at the final stages of our research. A minuscule amount of that rare metal is enough to power this palace for two decades without pause," he beamed as he shared.

"That powerful?" King Ralden sounded surprised.

"Yes, Father. If we can get more of that rare metal, then we will be the richest family in the entire world."

"That is great! I am so proud of you. Indeed, you are worthy to be the husband of my favorite daughter." King Ralden tapped the young man on his shoulder, which caused him to smile brightly.

"Erick, how many reactors could you make with the amount of the metal we have?"

"We can only build three micro-reactors, Father," Erick replied, his voice was gentle and polite.

"Cut the size in half and make six, then we sell it to the highest bidder." The king said excitedly.

King Ralden dismissed Erick, and he sat back at his throne, thinking. He has proven once again that he was a good judge of character. Erick was a rare diamond he picked from the trash—one of his reliable pawns.

He still remembered the little boy clutching the hem of his mother’s skirt. The mother was a charming maid who had gotten pregnant by the vice president of Chaneya.

Unlike the monarchy, political leaders of other countries could not keep mistresses. But when the vice president’s wife got pregnant, he took a maid to warm his bed. He kept the maid hidden until his wife gave birth, then gave her money and sent her away. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Unbeknownst to the vice president, the maid became pregnant and, by chance, landed at the king’s palace in Ra-Iya.

When the child turned 14, the vice president became the President of Chaneya, and Ralden saw the uncanny resemblance between the boy and the president. He also discovered that the boy was a genius: a prodigy in science and computer.

He nurtured the boy and gave his mother benefits.

When Erick turned eighteen, King Ralden encouraged his daughter to be close to him. Not long after, Erick was madly in love with the princess and became Ralden’s most loyal follower.

His inventions of helpful household appliances became famous abroad and have brought riches and honor to Ra-Iya.

King Ralden honored him with a grand reward: he arranged a royal marriage between him and the eldest princess of Ra-Iya. From that moment onward, Erick became the esteemed son-in-law of the King of Ra-Iya and the Consort to the First Princess of Ra-Iya.
