Raised From The Wild-Chapter 351: Unfair Judgment 3
The husband, who was enamored by the performance of Princess Amaya and Apollo, snorted. "How could she be only in second place? Did they see how awesome that horse did that tap dance? His footwork was well coordinated; even I could not do that?"
Her wife rolled her eyes at him. "Honey, it is good that you realize that. You did not forget that you don’t know how to dance. You remember our wedding dance, right? You stepped on my foot several times, and my toes turned black." The wife spoke without regard to her husband’s ego.
"Wifey, do you still remember that? It was such a long time ago," the husband said, his face twisted into an unpleasant expression.
His wife let out an exasperated sigh and rolled her eyes for the second time, before turning her attention towards the platform. There, the Princess of Lireya stood gracefully at the center of the tri-level podium, capturing the undivided focus of the crowd.
The man in his fifties or older raised a question, "So, how are they going to fit the two ladies on the center platform?"
His wife did not answer anymore. She felt that her husband was regressing as he was getting older.
As the Lireyan National Anthem was played for the second time that day, the internet exploded. Netizens scolded the judges for obvious unfairness. On ordinary days, Adelle’s performance could have been excellent and deserving of the gold medal, but then, it wasn’t an ordinary day because an extraordinary horse performed the most extraordinary dressage sequences in the history of the sports event.
’Damn! I am citizen of Uropa and I love Adelle, but it is very obvious the Princess from Lireya performed much better. She should be the undisputed champion.’
’I do not think that Adelle’s performance is that bad. Considering what the judges said, It is quite fair that both deserved the gold medal. Besides, Adelle’s horse indeed looked better compared to the white horse.’
’It is obvious that the judges favored Adelle.’
’What is there to complain? The princess from Lireya won the gold medal and was even called first.’ I thought that I would hear Uropa’s National Anthem first. It is the host, after all.’
’Hey, you! Arent’ you shameless? Is being a host a ticket for a gold medal even if you do not deserve it?’
’I also do not think that the result is good. I feel that Princess Amaya was cheated.’
’Whatever. For as long as the princess got her gold medal then I am okay with it."
Back at the arena, Adelle was seething inside as she stepped onto the tri-level podium. Amaya was called first, so she occupied the highest platform in the middle, while Adelle occupied the platform to the right, which was supposed to be for the silver medalist. There were only three platforms. The bronze medalist can also stand on the ground beside the platform on the left.
"Congratulations, Princess Amaya." The silver and bronze medalists greeted her warmly. "How did you train your horse to do such complicated steps?"
Adelle did not say anything.
Amaya smiled at the two. "Apollo is very intelligent. I showed only the steps a few times and he was able to memorize and replicate it." Amaya admitted openly.
"Can we take our pictures with your horse later?" the two asked, their eyes sparkling with expectation.
Princess Amaya could not say no, so she agreed, to the delight of the two athletes.
Adelle was filled with anger and frustration. She believed she had been treated unfairly. "What is the appeal of that unattractive white horse? Why would anyone choose a white horse for dressage?" she expressed bitterly.
The two athletes looked at her strangely. They wondered what was wrong with her.
"Miss Adelle, that stunning white horse looked absolutely magnificent. It is truly a sight to behold," the silver medalist said with a warm and genuine smile.
Adelle let out a disdainful snort and made her way towards the arena’s exit. As she tried to leave, she found herself surrounded by a throng of reporters and paparazzi clamoring for her interview and photos.
"Miss Black, could you share your thoughts on the current trending topic on the internet?" A male reporter wearing a navy blue suit asked eagerly.
Adelle’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she asked, "What do you mean?" She reached into her bag, retrieved her cell phone, and swiftly logged into her social media account. However, her expression shifted to shock and disbelief as her eyes scanned the cruel messages criticizing her.
Adelle whispered to herself, ’How did it come to this? Didn’t Daddy handle the internet?’ Her facial expression changed a few times. She wanted to call her father, but the unruly crowd, which seemed like they wanted a piece of her, pushed too hard that she almost fell facedown. Fortunately, her bodyguard assisted her and prevented her from falling to the ground. How disgraceful would it be if she really fall to the ground.
"Miss Balck, could you please provide your thoughts on the current trending topic on the internet?"
Adelle expressed her sentiments by stating, "I did everything I could for my school and my country. The judges believed that I had secured the gold medal alongside Miss Rocas. How is this even relevant to me?" She attempted to convey a sense of righteousness.
A reporter took courage and showed her another trending topic.
Adelle’s brows furrowed with concern as she sensed a looming threat from the ambush of news reporters. Frantically, she scanned her surroundings, desperately seeking out her concealed bodyguards.
She heaved a sigh as her bodyguards penetrated through the crowd and forcefully brought her out of the crowd.
"Miss Adelle, the online community is abuzz with rumors that your impressive victory in the competition was somehow due to your influential connections. Can you confirm or deny these speculations?" As the reporter attempted to pursue her for a statement, two imposing and stern-faced men, their identities concealed behind masks, intercepted and obstructed his path.
Adelle gritted her teeth and clenched her fists. For the first time in her life, she felt that the internet teemed with bad people. She cast a scornful gaze to the young woman with copper hair who was chatting happily with the others.
"Just you wait...."
