Raised From The Wild-Chapter 308: The Train
Stephane regarded the guard with cold eyes. The guard was indifferent. When he glared back at Stephane, the professor reverted to a scholarly look.
The students excitedly stood from their seats and queued on the open platform where the train would stop to pick up the passengers.
Julienne looked around and commented worriedly. "Is this place safe? People could fall on the train track. Why are there no guard rails or barriers to protect the passengers?"
Amaya looked at Julienne and wondered what she was talking about. It was her first time riding a train and when she looked around, she found nothing amiss. She was impatient earlier because she was excited to ride on a train.
There were white markings on the floor where the train doors were expected to be positioned when the train stopped.
Amaya walked toward the farthest marking which should be the door to the first passenger car behind the driver. A few students wanted to be with Princess Amaya, but her guards prevented them from crowding over. Ultimately, only Stephane, Natalia, and a pregnant lady were allowed to queue with the Princess.
Julienne was assisting the pregnant woman. She did not notice that Princess Amaya was dangerously standing on the platform’s edge.
Princess Amaya saw the upcoming train and became so excited that she craned her neck for a closer look. If you draw a straight line from the edge of the platform, half of her body would be on the other side of the line.
"Oh my gosh, Princess. What are you doing?" The guard pulled her back and she crashed into a wall of hard muscles.
A few seconds after she was pulled back, the train arrived. Princess Amaya gasped. She did not expect the train to arrive so fast.
"Thank you, Luciano." She thanked her guard in a calm voice.
"Princess, you gave me a scare." Julienne’s horrified face was magnified as she drew nearer to Amaya. "Are you alright? Didn’t you know that a train as fast as this one would be unable to brake in time? It is a good thing that your guard has fast reflexes." Julienne berated her.
"The train was still far away. I did not expect it to arrive in the blink of an eye." Amaya replied to Julienne’s worried question. Then she watched in fascination as the train door in front of them opened.
Princess Amaya stepped aside to let the pregnant woman in first. She reached out her hand to support the pregnant woman who turned around and smiled at her.
The princess felt uncomfortable when she saw the woman smiling at her. Her smile however was full of malice.
"Young lady, can you assist me to go inside? My tummy is big and it is difficult for me to move." The pregnant woman said in a sweet voice.
Amaya disregarded the sound of warning bells in her head. Before her guard could steal her act of kindness, the princess lifted her foot to enter the train.
The pregnant woman who was already inside the train took something shiny from her stomach through a hole inside the pocket of her dress.
She turned around quickly. Her movement was fast no one would think that she was pregnant. She pulled Amaya towards her and placed a knife on her neck.
"If you don’t want her to die then do exactly as I tell you."
"You are not pregnant!" Julienne screamed.
The pregnant woman laughed evilly. "You are smart. Yes, I am not pregnant. Are you happy?"
"I admire you for your bravery to take the Princess of Lireya as hostage. Are you working alone or do you have accomplices?" Julienne asked with an expressionless face. She did not panic as she was trained to handle such situations.
The woman holding Amaya hostage chuckled. "Don’t play mind games with me, young lady. You are still too young to play tricks on me."
"What do you want?" Amaya asked in a calm voice. She was looking at her guards and she signaled them with her eyes to stand down as some of them had their guns drawn and aimed at both of them.
"My, my, my! The princess finally has spoken. I admire your calmness, Princess. Not many noble ladies can stand calmly when a knife could take her life anytime." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Aren’t you wasting your time by talking too much? What is it you want?" Amaya pressed for clues.
The fake pregnant woman was surprised to see that it was just a guard who spoke. Why did she feel that guard was exuding an oppressive aura?
"I want 50 million Lireyan Dollars. Send it here in thirty minutes. Don’t play any trick because I would know it" The fake pregnant woman shouted from inside the train. She then instructed the train driver to close the train’s doors.
"Who sent you and why did you take me hostage?" Amaya asked after the fake pregnant woman let her sit beside her.
"You do not deserve to know who sent me. Princess, I did not realize that your security is so lax. I did not have the slightest difficulty in coming near you." The woman said smugly.
Amaya was silent. Indeed she did not expect that trouble would find her with the few guards surrounding her.
The woman unzipped the dress that covered her protruding belly. Amaya watched closely as she fumbled for something. After a few seconds, she found it and pulled it downwards. Her round belly split in half and Amaya’s eyes widened in surprise.
"You looked so surprised, princess!." She laughed crazily. "This is how I evaded the security check earlier."
Amaya studied the knife that the woman was twirling. It was made from plastic but still very sharp, even sharper than a metal one. Earlier, she felt its tip grazing her skin and she knew that she was scratched.
The woman took out a syringe in the pouch from her fake belly.
"Princess, you have a very rare blood type and my boss wants it."
"So, the money is just a cover? You wanted my blood?"
"You are very smart, Princess."
"How did you think that you could get away with this?"
The woman’s laughter filled the cabin.
"With that security detail of yours, I definitely can get away." Her laugh was insulting. She grabbed Amaya’s hand and she was about to stick the needle at Amaya’s inside elbow.
