Raised From The Wild-Chapter 288: You Are Far More Beautiful Than Her
A chilly silence ensued after Marx retorted Nathalia angrily.
Amaya felt warmth in her heart. After her Daddy Ibrahim died, only Marx protected her to the same extent as her Dad did.
Nathalia’s face turned white like a paper. She lost her composure as Marx continued to stare at her with a piercing gaze.
"I am sorry, Princess," Nathalia uttered subconsciously. She felt that if she did not apologize, Marx Skylar would strangle her.
Stephane’s raised his eyebrows.
"As expected of the domineering Marx Skylar. You could make even the most stubborn and spoiled brat of the Pracelas apologize with just a look." There was sarcasm in Stephane’s voice.
Marx glanced at Stephane indifferently. They used to be the best of buddies but when he continued to blame him for something that he did not do, he did not care about him anymore. He retracted his gaze and shifted it to Amaya.
"Are you done, Aya?" He asked gently.
Amaya nodded and they left the table walking side by side. Stephane followed them with his gaze until a few guards blocked his view.
"What a scary man." Nathalia heaved a sigh of relief when she could no longer see the back of Marx Skylar.
Stephane simply looked at her shaking his head. "Stay away from him. He is very ruthless."
A red Maserati stopped in front of Marx and Amaya.
"What happened to the car earlier?"
"It was bugged. Someone has driven it. I hope that whoever wanted to spy on us would be thrown off track."
The driver got out of the car and passed the key to Marx.
"You want to drive?"
When Marx saw the naughty smile on Amaya’s face, he threw him the key and opened the door on the driver’s side for her. When she had already settled, he walked around and entered from the passenger side.
The drive back to the Maharlika Palace was a breeze. Amaya was driving at the city’s speed limit and Marx marveled at how she could muster such courage and skill in such a short time.
Amaya parked the car at the main entrance of the palace. A driver opened the car door for her and took the key so he could take the car to the garage.
Amaya wanted to visit Apollo and Artemis at the stable but she remembered the things that Major Garces gave her so she went to the study together with Marx, while a servant followed behind and carried the luggage.
Major Garces shared the code to unlock the luggage with Marx. He placed the luggage on the wooden table in the study and keyed in the combination of numbers on the lock.
It opened and the first thing that Amaya saw was a piece of black cloth. She took it out and gasped when she figured out what it was.
The embroidered emblem of a golden dragon at the chest of the upper garment looked dazzling in Amaya’s eyes.
"This...." she could not continue her statement. She carefully laid out the black upper garment and the matching pants on the table. She smoothened the creases with her hand. Her Daddy Ibrahim was tall so the pants were long. She carefully traced the dragon embroidery on the chest part.
The cloth looked worn out and had a few tears that had been mended.
"It looked beautiful." She suddenly turned to Marx. "You and Daddy are of the same height and have the same physique. This will definitely fit you. Can you try them on?" Amaya gazed at Marx expectantly.
If it was before, Marx would never wear someone else’s clothes. But ever since he crashed on that island and experienced using the most primitive way of eating and relieving one’s self, he was cured of his germaphobe. Heck, he even survived without brushing his teeth or changing his clothes for a few days.
Besides, no man would be able to say no to such a cute face with doe-like eyes.
The study has an adjoining restroom. Marx took Ibrahim’s clothes and changed into them. When he went back to the study, Amaya could not take her eyes off him. She looked at Marx with such adoration that the tip of Marx’s ears turned red.
"Wow! You look so handsome, Marx. You look like a reincarnation of Dragon Lord" Amaya praised Marx like a fan would to her idol.
Marx could not take it anymore. He approached Amaya and held the back of her head. He locked her lips in a passionate kiss. It was a long time before he released her.
He traced the outline of her lips which was swollen from his kissing and teased her gently. "Don’t look at me like that or I may lose control."
"What? How do I look?"
"That adoring look of yours will drive me crazy." Marx reluctantly separated from her. "Check out the other items while I change back to my clothes." He pushed her gently toward the table where the luggage was.
Amaya checked the contents of the luggage. She found a few medals and some photos of her dad and her mom. She did not find those in the library in Asteria Palace.
Her hand rested on a framed photo of a young couple. The man was carrying the woman on his back. He was wearing a white short-sleeved polo shirt. Only the side of his face was exposed because he was looking back at the young woman in a white dress who was smiling brightly at the young man while holding an umbrella with a canopy made from white lace.
Amaya’s gaze lingered on the woman’s face. Because she was looking down at the man, the color of her eyes was not visible to the camera. The handle of the umbrella covered a portion of her eyebrows. The face was like her own.
She took the 8" by 12" photo frame and placed it on top of a long and narrow wooden table that lined one side of the wall of the study. She placed it beside her own photo taken on her eighteenth birthday.
"You looked like your Mommy. I heard that she was known to be the most beautiful belle in Lireya." Marx spoke gently behind her back. His voice sounded sexy.
"But you are far more beautiful than her."
