Raised From The Wild-Chapter 264: [Bonus - ]Conspiracy Theory
"Grandpa, Dad, I think there is a conspiracy behind those half-humans." Amaya shared her honest opinion. "Maybe, the fiasco that happened in Verde Island is also related to the experiments in Mount Paraiso."
The three men glanced at the only female in the room. All of them agreed on one thing. She was special. Like her father, she was a critical thinker and a genius.
"Do you think King Ralden knew about all these?" Amaya’s inquisitive gaze fell on her grandfather.
"He might be or he is just one of the pawns." King Duncan answered his granddaughter in a neutral tone but his probing gaze fell on Marx.
"Marx, your company is supplying Usturia with the most high-tech reconnaissance devices. What are your thoughts on this?"
Marx pondered for a while. The question was a dangerous one. He needed to consider his answers carefully.
"We only supply the technology and the devices, Your Majesty. After we deliver the product to the government, we have nothing more to do with it."
King Duncan sighed.
"I read on the dark web several conspiracy theories about an organization called the Dark Phoenix. They are raising an unconventional army and their goal is to rule the world."
"You are a woman, Amaya. Don’t concern yourself with these kinds of things." King Duncan spoke not as a grandfather but as the King Of Lireya.
Amaya was disappointed. Why would her grandfather shut her out?
"Grandpa, was the plane crash from long ago really an accident? Or was it targeted at Daddy Ibrahim? Does Daddy have something with him that would harm someone? He was not the only one who had a secret mission on that plane, was he? I read that there were a few people who discovered the plan of the Dark Phoenix/"
King Duncan and Prince Ibarra froze. They suddenly thought that maybe the plane crash was indeed not an accident.
"Amaya," Prince Ibarra spoke gently. "We don’t even know that my brother has a special mission. We only knew that he was on that plane after it crashed and his superior contacted us."
"I am sorry, Daddy Ibarra. Grandpa. I am overthinking things. I shouldn’t have entertained those crazy theories." Amaya sounded so sad. A knife seemed to cut through King Duncan’s heart.
"At that time, there was no evidence that the crash was premeditated. Everyone assumed that it was an accident. Go rest now. Let us talk again tomorrow." King Duncan was again using the voice of a king.
Marx threw a worried look at Amaya.
"Aya, don’t let your imagination run wild. I think you need to rest. We went through so much in the last two days." Marx spoke gently to her. His voice was soothing.
Amaya and Marx exited the room while King Duncan and Prince Ibarra stood rooted on the ground.
"Father, back then, you mentioned about Operation Unicorn. Several countries participated in wiping out the organization behind the operation. Was my brother really one of those who contributed to the failure of Operation Unicorn and the downfall of the Dark Phoenix?"
"I don’t know, son. I am only aware that Ibrahim holds a high position in the military as a military doctor. I don’t know if he was a spy or not. You know best how your brother was."
Prince Ibarra was silent. He was in a daze as if he was reminiscing a happy memory.
"I haven’t heard about it for a long time. Has the organization really been wiped out or is it just hibernating and finding an opportunity to strike?
King Duncan sighed.
"I am not sure. I hope that it was totally wiped out. If there is a remnant left, then they might come back strong."
King Duncan studied his son who would soon take over his throne. He wondered if Lireya would still be as peaceful during his reign as it was now.
"Don’t worry. The world leaders will not allow an organization or a single person to rule the world."
King Duncan encouraged Prince Ibarra.
"We are just a small and peaceful country. And we are far away from the prosperous countries. We will not be targetted."
Prince Ibarra looked at his father with a complicated look. "Father, don’t you think that it is precisely because we are just a small country and we will be the one to be swallowed first?"
King Duncan smiled. His son has become smarter.
"Why are you smiling, Father?"
"I am just happy. You are starting to think differently. That is how kings should think." He complimented Ibarra.
Prince Ibarra felt his heart grow warm. However, it was only for a fleeting moment. If what Amaya discovered in Mount Paraiso was a scheme of the Dark Phoenix, wouldn’t Lireya be in danger?"
"Father, do you think we should report this to the Alliance? Will they believe us?"
"Who knows? Maybe the Alliance already knew about it."
King Duncan remembered something. "Marx said that he is going to show us the footage he took when he was in Mount Paraiso. Call him back."
Marx and Amaya were about to leave the courtroom when one of the king’s personal guards called them back. The two entered the secret chamber and found the two leaders of Lireya already sitting on two big chairs and facing the black monitor attached to the wall.
"You mentioned earlier that you will show us your recording. Can you show it to us now?" Prince Ibarra asked. His eyes narrowed with anticipation.
Marx took out his cell phone and connected it to the monitor facing the royalties of Lireya. He already set the playback to 2x the original speed so the king and the crown prince will get bored watching.
The video was recorded by the cameras on the goggles that the three of them wore. Amaya wasn’t aware that there was a recording. She was happy that her time with the minotaurs was recorded including her assisting the female one to give birth.
King Duncan and Prince Ibarra were silent all through out. They did not even dare to blink afraid that they will miss something.
"Incredible!"
