Raised From The Wild-Chapter 222: Women in the Palace
Manna went to the door to open it.
"Princess, the banquet is about to start." The guard said politely.
Amaya stood from the chair and walked gracefully toward the door. She looked very beautiful in her get-up.
"You look beautiful tonight." Marx a.k.a the guard whispered gently into her ear. Amaya’s face reddend. Just when did she start to be affected by Marx’s flirting? Was it when she turned eighteen?
"Stop fooling around." She lowered her voice so it would not be picked up by the bugs planted all around the villa.
The path they took led them to pass by the drawing room. Princess Amaya paused when she noticed that the drawing room was lively. There were many ladies inside and their conversations were lively. Her two cousins and Queen Zanzara were also inside, so Amaya decided to come inside. Marx and the other guard went to stand by the door.
"Cousin, you are here." Zanzara welcomed her warmly. She was acting as the hostess of the house.
"Greetings, Your Majesty." Princess Amaya cupped her hands and bowed her head to show her sincerity in greeting the queen.
Zanzara was pleased.
"Let me introduce to you my sisters." She meant the women in King Ralden’s harem.
A look of surprise flashed across Amaya’s face. She could genuinely see that her cousin was not jealous or did not have any resentment of sharing her husband with other women. She looked around and there were a total of fifteen women in the room, excluding herself, Shanaya, and Tatiana. Does this mean King Ralden has more than ten concubines?
The noble ladies introduced themselves one by one. Amaya learned that King Raldedn only had four concubines. Adding Zanzara to the list, he had five wives in total. So the rumors of him having ten concubines were not true. The rest of the ladies in the room were King Ralden’s sisters and half-sisters.
Of the King’s concubines, the one who stood out in terms of beauty and temperament was Sofia. She was more of a queen than Zanzara. Princess Amaya did not understand why she did not become the Queen of Ra-Iya.
The ladies asked Princess Amaya to introduce herself, but before she could do that, one of King Ralden’s wives said. "There is something I found on the internet about Princess Amaya. Let me share this with you."
She used the big TV screen in the drawing room to project the video that she had on her cell phone.
It was a video of her taken when she first arrived in Usturia. The video was played in slow motion. She removed her sandals and her dress in one fluid motion. Her slightly wavy hair reached up to her buttocks at that time. Only her slender legs were visible because her cascading hair covered her entire back. She took two steps before doing a clean dive in the pond. It was an autumn night.
Marx who was by the door clenched his hands. He had that video deleted from the internet but it looked like a lot of people had downloaded it and kept an offline copy.
After the video finished playing, everyone looked at Amaya with abashed expressions on their faces.
"Princess, that must be an embarrassing moment for you, especially since it was recorded and uploaded to the internet." Princess Esmeralda, King Ralden’s sister who was two years older than Amaya said in a pretentious voice.
Marx wanted to come in and silence those nosey princesses, but when he looked at Amaya’s calm demeanor, he relaxed. He knew that Amaya could handle the situation well.
Amaya looked the Ra-Iyan noble ladies in the eyes and said calmly. "Why would I feel embarrassed? I looked more decent than the many women who were wearing bikinis. Only the back of my legs and my hair were captured in the video." Amaya said nonchalantly.
Suddenly the video on the screen disappeared. It was replaced by the photos of Princess Esmeralda in bikinis and provocative poses.
"Who is doing that? Turn it off. Turn it off." She said frantically. She scrambled from her seat and pulled the plug from the wall.
Amaya turned around and looked at Marx who was fiddling something on his cell phone. So he did it. Amaya felt a warm feeling in her heart.
"Sister-in-law, I suppose that you have learned your lesson. You should not speak ill of others when you have skeletons in your own closet." A gentle voice came from the side of the drawing board.
Sofia who was wearing a dainty white cocktail dress stood from her chair and walked slowly toward Amaya. Her dress has a sweetheart neckline that exposes her upper chest, neck, and collarbone. A heart-shaped diamond pendant suspended by a platinum chain nestled a little above her cleavage.
"Who are you to scold me? I am older than you. Do mind your own business." Princess Esmeralda snapped at her.
"Sister, don’t be angry with me. I think you should be concerned about how those private photos of yours were exposed just like that. Unless you have shared those in your social media accounts." Sofia’s voice still sounded gentle like a summer breeze.
"Of course not. I am not that stupid to share those private photos in the internet."
"Sister!" A woman who looked a little bit like Esmeralda called in a worried voice. "Go check your social media account. The photos you shared earlier are there."
"It couldn’t be. I haven’t uploaded them." Esmeralda hurriedly took out her cell phone and logged in to her social media account. To her horror, her private photos were indeed there. Her fingers moved fast as she hurriedly deleted those photos. She heaved a sigh of relief after she deleted the photos.
She looked up and threw an accusing look at Amaya. Amaya stared back at her with an innocent look on her face.
"I’ll ask, Brother to investigate this. How can someone hack into my cellphone and get away with it?" Princess Esmeralda said angrily while looking at Amaya.
Sofia also looked at Amaya thoughtfully, then her gaze shifted to the bodyguard at the door who was sporting an expressionless face. Her gaze darted back to the Princess of Lireya who was standing tall and elegant in the middle of the drawing room.
It looked like the people behind the Princess were not simple and someone who could be trifled with.
