Raised From The Wild-Chapter 211: Hero in the Arena
Behind the mighty tiger, whose cage retracted and disappeared was a man and a woman.
Sapiro could not believe what he was seeing. "Isn’t that Princess Amaya? What is she doing there?"
King Ralden finally reacted when he heard Sapiro’s voice. "What are you waiting for? Get the Princess out of the arena. Recall all the beasts!" The King commanded in a loud voice and there was a flurry of movements in the corridor.
Unfortunately, the King’s order was a second late. The door to the cages was already opened the hungry beasts have jumped out from their cages. The cages disappeared under the arena’s floor.
"Amaya, quick! Let’s run to that corner and let the animals fight themselves." Marx did not wait for her response. He held her wrist as he ran to the corner that he thought was the safest.
The audience was separated by 9-meter-tall fiberglass. There was no way for the animals inside the arena to come out. It was a foolproof way to protect the audience.
"Do you have any weapon with you?" Amaya asked Marx.
Marx had his backpack. He took out a small gun from it.
"How about you?" Marx was worried because she was not wearing her hunting vest.
’"I only have two folding knives." Amaya looked at the animals with a complicated look. She did not want to hurt any of them if she had a choice.
"We should make ourselves inconspicuous, then they will fight each other and tire out each other. It will buy us some for the rescuers to come." Marx’s voice was confident and Amaya thought that it was charming.
The two people squatted on the corner watching the animals and never letting their guard.
The lion thought that the wolf was weaker than him so it turned around and run to the wolf’s corner.
The wolf howled. "Why are you eyeing me? My flesh is not much better compared to those two humans in the corner. Besides, even if you defeat me, I still can harm you. But those two are just helpless prey. Come, let us attack together."
The wolf was indeed cunning. He thought that once the lion was busy feeding on the humans, then he can attack it from the back.
The tiger who has been intimated by Amaya earlier thought that he could have his revenge. When the black panther and the snake surrounded him, he turned his head impatiently to the two humans in the corner. He charged towards them trailed by the black panther and the snake.
Marx: "..."
"They are coming for us, Marx. They are thinking that we are the weakest." Amaya said calmly. She stood up and took out the two knives from her pocket.
"Oh, my gods! The beasts are going after them."
"Those beasts will surely devour them!"
"Someone help!"
The audience became unruly. Out of the chaos, ten men coming from different directions, wearing a baseball cap that covered half of their faces jumped over the seats, ignoring the shouts and curses of those whose hands they stepped on. Their goal was to reach the arena at the fastest time possible.
They have coiled ropes on their hands which they took from their camouflaged backpacks. They quickly made a loop at one end of the rope and tied it at the armrest of the chair nearest the arena.
In no time, the men were walking on the glass wall vertically.
"How did they do that? Even if their bodies are very light, the wall being made from fiberglass is still very slippery."
"Idiot! Their shoes and gloved hands might have suction on them."
In the arena, Marx stood up and stepped in front of Amaya shielding her from the beasts. He raised his gun and aimed at the head of the lion.
"Aim for their forelimbs. Do not kill them. Just incapacitate them."
Marx pulled the trigger twice. The lion and the wolf fell down and growled. The black panther was running too fast it was too late for it to stop. A third gunshot was heard and the black panther also fell down.
The tiger stopped and stood still. The snake however continued to slither toward Marx at an unbelievable speed.
Marx pulled the trigger when the snake was in a striking pose. The bullet hit its neck. The snake’s scales were like a bulletproof vest. The bullet ricocheted and hit the hind leg of the tiger that was escaping. Marx fired the fifth and the last bullet. The snake did not even dodge. The fifth bullet hit the other hind leg of the tiger. The last one hit the tip of its tail which was tucked between his two injured hind legs.
The unfortunate Mighty Hercules whimpered and finally fell to the ground. He felt aggrieved. He sustained the most injuries.
Marx on the other hand wanted to dodge the snake but he did not. If he did, then wouldn’t the snake hit Amaya who was behind him? He was contemplating how to avoid the snake’s attack without harming Amaya when he noticed a sudden movement from the corner of his eyes.
The headless body of the snake fell in front of Marx while the head landed in between the lion and the wolf. Amaya was now standing beside Marx. She was holding a knife about 30 centimeters long. She folded the knife and casually placed it back in her pant’s pocket.
"You were awesome, Marx. You hit them on the right spot." She complimented him with a smile.
The few men who successfully entered the arena using the rope were holding a bow and arrows that contained anesthetics to stun the beasts. Who would know that even before they can release an arrow, the four beasts were incapacitated and one was even killed? They came inside the arena for nothing.
The audience was very quiet. Earlier, their hearts were at their throats when the beasts seemed to collude with one another and targeted the two people inside. The next moment, the beasts were whimpering on the ground. What just happened?
Sofia who was in the security control room was very angry as she watched the monitors. Four of the beasts she trained were all injured and Hyra the snake was dead. Why was it like that?
"Are those men, the Royal Guards?" King Ralden asked his father-in-law. Those were definitely not his Ra-Iyan guards.
"The Princess has brought only four guards with her," Sapiro said. "Aren’t they your men?"
"Hmm," The king just hummed.
"Your Majesty, do you think, Amaya landing in the arena is an accident? I remember she said that she will go to the restroom. We are lucky that her personal guard was with her. What if she was alone? Then, wouldn’t she die? If she died, then my father will definitely not forgive me and you will be impacted as well." Sapiro’s voice trailed.
