Raised From The Wild-Chapter 208: The Secret Weapon
A servant walked toward Princess Amaya to give her the wet towel, a glass of juice, and a snack. When she was an arm’s length away from the Princess, she tripped.
"Princess, watch out!"
Marx was fast. He caught the glass that was supposed to fall on Amaya’s body however he was not able to prevent the sticky juice from hitting her and drenching her clothes.
The servant who fell face down on the carpeted floor raised her body into a kneeling position. She trembled while repeatedly asking Princess Amaya for forgiveness.
Amaya was by nature a kind and magnanimous person. She gestured to the servant to stand up and leave.
King Ralden and Queen Zanzara approached Amaya.
"Cousin, are you alright? Do you have spare clothes with you? If not, I have one." Zanzara spoke with concern.
"I have spare clothes with me." She looked at her second guard who approached her and pass her a backpack.
King Ralden looked at a servant who was standing at the side. "Escort the Princess to the room at the end of the lounge area." King Ralden commanded and the servant scurried over. She bowed politely to the princess and led her to the room at the end of the corridor. Marx and another guard followed and waited at the door outside.
"Princess, you can take a shower and change into a fresh set of clothes. I’ll take care of your spoiled cloth and you can change into them after the first show is over. It should be ready in an hour.
Amaya did not suspect anything. She obediently stepped into the shower and had a quick bath. There was a disposable shower cap she used so she did not have to wait a long time for her hair to dry and to be done.
She changed into sweatpants and a white off-shoulder white blouse with sleeves that reached to her wrists.
"I’ll trouble you with the cleaning of my hunting garb. Use a gentle detergent and hand wash with warm water. Use a sponge to wipe the material. Don’t twist or wring it." Amaya gave the instructions. She was worried that if the juice was not removed, the titanium quills would rust.
The servant nodded in agreement. Amaya exited the room and went back to the lounge together with Marx and another guard.
After a few minutes, a dark shadow entered the room. He did not speak but took the vest and the inner garment from the servant and laid it down on the bed. He took a scanning device from his backpack and passed it over the garment. His eyebrows raised when he saw the metal embedded perfectly in between a layer of fabric and leather. He transferred the garment to the table then took the flower vase and put it on the garment. He applied a considerable amount of pressure but nothing happened. He carefully examined the hem of the vest and found that there were a few buttons sewn into the hem. He pressed the buttons following a forward sequence but nothing happened. He repeated the process but this time, the sequence was from the opposite direction. Still, nothing happened. He tried to press the buttons in alternating sequence and then by random but still nothing happened.
The man in black was exasperated. He looked at the clock and he was running out of time. He placed all his weight on the vase to increase the pressure. The vase shattered into pieces. The man in black was dumbfounded.
He found a chessboard placed on the bookshelf inside the room. The casing of the chessboard was not very thick. It was around 5 centimeters. He placed the vest on the floor and put the chessboard over it. Then he jumped into the chessboard.
"Aaahhhh" A horrendous cry filled the room.
The servant was stupefied when she saw blood starting to pool on the floor. The man in black clothes gathers his remaining strength and tried to jump away from the chessboard. His breath was almost sucked out as he felt his flesh being pulled down by thousands of needles.
"Pass me the blanket and the first aid kit." He shouted at the servant while he was down on the floor with blood dripping from both of his feet. He removed his sneakers and then his thick socks. He cursed when he looked at the mangled flesh of his feet. Just how long were those quills? He glanced at the vest but he did not see any abnormality. It looks like the quills retracted when the pressure was removed.
The servant hurried to the bathroom and took the first aid kit behind the mirror. Then she passed the blanket and the first-aid kit to the man in black.
The man hurriedly tore the blanket into strips. He took a disinfectant from the first-aid kit and poured them over his mangled feet. He then wrapped his feet with a thick layer of cloth and tried to stand. He winced in pain and he realized that he cannot walk at all. He tapped a button on his wristwatch. "X and Y, come to guest room 10 and help me out." He said in a hoarse voice. His face was contorted in pain.
"What are you looking at?" the man glared at the maidservant who was standing in a daze. "Hurry up and clean up this mess." He shouted while hissing.
The servant hurriedly took a towel and started wiping the blood on the floor. She was trembling and was about to faint because she was scared of blood.
"If you dare faint, you will never wake up again." The man in black threatened her. The servant made every effort not to faint because she still wanted to live.
She made a few trips to the bathroom and used up all the towels in the rack. She threw the soiled towels in the bathtub and let the water continuously run over them. She was amazed at the endurance of the man in black as she watched the bloodied water go down the drain. He lost too much blood but he seemed to be strong and calm.
Soon, two men who were wearing the same black hoodie and pants came in. They were greeted by the smell of blood and they became excited.
"Boss, why are you in such a mess? X asked innocently as he bent down to support his boss. His vision lingered on the bandage on his two feet.
"Do you still want to live?"
