Chapter 206: The Bio Reserve 2

"Don’t move, Aya." Marx shouted but his voice was gentle and soothing. He was not scared. He has seen Amaya in an even more precarious situation.

King Ralden who was distracted by Zanzara at that time looked up and his heart skipped a beat. Amaya was standing on a branch, her long legs were hidden behind a golden webbed cloth that looked like stockings. The hem of her short leather skirt stopped midway through her thighs. Her vest did not hide the beautiful curves of her body. Her copper brown hair was tied up in a bun at the back of her head but a few strands escaped and fall freely from her temples framing her face. A ray of sunlight seeped through the thick canopy of the tree and hit her hair making it look like a glowing halo on her head.

King Ralden has so many beautiful women in his harem but he could not take his eyes off her. She looked like a queen of the jungle standing proudly on her pedestal. He blinked and when he opened his eyes, the beautiful scene was gone. A scaly coil of yellow and black dots circled around her body and only a third of her legs, her neck, and head were visible.

Tatiana and Shanaya started crying. The guards raised their guns and pointed them toward the Princess.

"Don’t shoot!" Marx shouted.

"Don’t shoot!" King Ralden ordered calmly at the same time.

"No matter how skillful you are, the situation is still unpredictable. The snake is very smart. It is hiding its head behind Amaya." Marx analyzed calmly.

The petite guard was intently watching the princess. If he was not wearing a dark shade, one should be able to see a glint passed through his cold eyes.

King Ralden, admired the calmness of Princess Amaya. Her eyes did not show any sign of fear. She was too calm as if she was calculating.

Unbeknownst to the people on the ground, this was not the first that a snake has coiled around Amaya. The first time was when she was five years old. Little Amaya was resting beside her father under a tree when she suddenly felt something tight hold her body and she was lifted into the air.

"Aya, just relax. Don’t struggle. The more you move, the more the snake will constrict you and the faster you will suffocate." Ibarra’s voice was gentle. Before she can even absorb what he was saying, she saw his father fly from the ground and land on a branch beside her. With a quick slash of his hand, the snake’s head separated from its body. Amaya’s eyes widened as she felt she was falling fast. When she thought that her body would hit the ground with a loud thud, her father caught her in his arms and hugged her tight. She wailed for a long time. She was truly scared that she even had a nightmare that night.

The wails of Tatiana brought her back to the current time. She could feel that the snake was squeezing her harder. The air from her lungs seemed to be sucked out and she could feel that her flesh and bones were being crushed. Just as she felt that she was light-headed and about to faint, she heard a clicking sound from her vest and the snake hissed in pain. The safety mechanism of her vest was automatically activated without Amaya doing anything.

Amaya felt the snake loosen its grip on her body and was about to fall down and bring her along. The snake was very big. It was thrice Amaya’s weight and as big as her thigh. She freed her two hands and grabbed the branch she previously stood. The snake fell to the ground into a heap. The Princess swung her body before letting go and landed right beside Marx.

Marx lifted her armguard and saw that her skin has turned purplish. He massaged it gently to promote circulation.

"Does it hurt?" Marx asked in a concerned voice.

"It hurts," Amaya said matter-of-factly. Marx’s heart tightened as if he was the one in pain.

While Marx and Amaya has already exchanged a few words, all the other people including the King were still dumbfounded. They were looking at a heap of the constrictor lying on the ground a few feet from them. It was barely alive.

"What happened to the snake?" One of King Ralden’s guards asked. His tone showed concern over the snake instead of the Princess. He approached the snake and studied it.

"What do you mean by your tone and action? Is the snake’s life more important than that of the Princess?" One of Amaya’s guards retorted angrily.

The guard realized his mistake and quickly retreated. He dare not say another word.

The petite guard eyed the snake piteously. That must be over 25 years old. Damn this Princess!

"Are you alright, Princess?" King Ralden and Zanzara approached Amaya. Marx continued rubbing her bruised arm.

"I am fine, Your Majesty," Amaya replied perfunctorily.

"Why did the snake let you go?" The petite guard could not hold his curiosity and asked.

Amaya pondered for a while before deciding to tell them the truth.

"When I was young, there were a lot of constrictors on the Island. I am their favorite prey. They thought that I can easily be bullied because I am small. Daddy Ibrahim has saved me a few times. He was scared that one day, he might not be on my side so he designed a mechanism in my dress. If a certain pressure is applied to it, the mechanism will be automatically activated." Amaya explained but she did not bother to show it to them.

King Ralden’s eyes glinted with admiration. "Your Daddy Ibrahim is a genius to think of such a defensive weapon hidden in a dress."

The king approached the snake which seemed to have lost consciousness. He frowned when he saw the many punctured wounds on the snake’s body. Which kind of weapon can pierce through a snake’s skin? The skin was even genetically modified to make it harder but Amaya’s vest can harm the snake just like that. Just what kind of weapon, did Ibrahim place into that vest?

King Ralden gestured to one of the guards and instructed him to bring the snake to a nearby vet station to be treated.

"We are delayed for some time. Everyone, go back to your vehicles, and let’s continue the journey. You can watch the flowers from the jeep." King Ralden commanded in his kingly voice. He did not want Amaya to loiter around the Bio Spere anymore. She might bring havoc to the place.

He looked at Amaya and studied her dress with interest. ’Just what kind of man was Ibrahim?’
