Chapter 163: Uninvited Guest

The crown prince frowned when he heard what Marx said. Someone close to him? How can someone close to him attempt to harm him?

"What do you mean?" He asked with a hint of irritation in his voice

"It is just a comment from me. You don’t have to take it seriously." Marx said expressionlessly.

Prince Ibarra nodded. He looked at the shark that was slowly waking up and was being pushed back to the sea. As it hit the water, the monitors in front of him started showing images of things within the shark’s field of vision.

"You installed a camera and a tracker on that shark?"

’Isn’t it obvious? Why do you have to ask?’ These were Marx’s thoughts which he kept to himself. He nodded his head to answer Ibarra’s questions.

The shark swam continuously southward until it disappeared from their sight. It was heading in the direction of the yachts in the South Harbor. It swam very swiftly.

Everyone in the room was holding their breath and waiting for the shark to head to the one that controlled it. Suddenly the monitors went black.

"Damn!" Marx cursed as he clenched his fists.

"What happened?" Prince Ibarra asked.

"The shark was shot and it exploded. The camera is destroyed. They might have sensed that something is wrong with the shark." Marx’s voice sounded frustrated. He did not have enough resources to investigate the yachts that were parked at the South Harbor.

"Your Highness, you might want to have the South Harbor investigated. That shark has headed in that direction after all."

Prince Ibarra narrowed his eyes. He did not like that Marx was ordering him to do something.

"I am just saying. If you don’t want to do it then there is no problem with me Your Highness. If this is Usturia, I will investigate it myself."

The crown prince pursed his lips. He took out his cell phone and dialed the number of the Minister of Defense.

"Ronaldo, someone sent a shark to attack us at the Ocean Palace restaurant. It has the same chip embedded in its body as the ones found in Mount Ibra and the ones that attached Amaya in Mount Daya. We released the shark and it went to the South Harbor. Can you deploy the Elite Marine forces to investigate?" Prince Ibarra paused and listened to what the other party was saying.

"Yes, that’s right. You have to act fast. The perpetrator might have already been alerted because they blew up the shark."

After a few more seconds, the crown prince hung up.

Marx and Prince Ibarra returned to the private room where the others were enjoying their dessert while watching the fish swim around the area. Sometimes they bump into the glass barrier.

"Julie, how did someone come up with the idea of building a restaurant like this?" Amaya asked out of the blue. She admired the person who architected the restaurant. The concept was otherworldly and the purpose noble. She learned that part of the proceeds of the restaurant was donated to the organization that protects and rehabilitates the sea.

"Well, business geniuses always come up with creative ways to earn money," Julienne said matter-of-factly.

"Do you know who is the owner of this restaurant?" Amaya asked Julienne.

"You don’t know?" A deep baritone voice came from the entrance of the private room.

Amaya turned around and see the crown prince enter alongside Marx. She arched her eyebrows as if telling her father that she really did not know.

"Well, Marx holds the majority of the shares. The other shareholder is Dave."

Amaya’s eyes lit up. "Really? Does that mean you are staying here in Lireya in the long term?"

Marx, who looked cold earlier, suddenly turned gentle as he smiled at Amaya. Prince Ibarra snickered.

"It is too early to say it, but I will stay here for as long as I can."

The smile on Amaya’s face froze. She looked sad as she forced herself to say, "Okay."

Marx approached her and patted her head gently as if to comfort her.

Meanwhile, inside a yacht in the South Harbor, the man in the red hood was seething. He kicked his subordinate who was wearing a spectacle in the chest. The man trembled as he went down on his knees and begged for mercy.

"Forgive me for my incompetence, Emperor. I thought the shark died when it hit the glass barrier the second time. The camera that we had implanted on it was damaged by the impact. We also received a signal that its heartbeat stopped. The moment when we saw the shark approaching, we were able to take it out. The one who sent it back should not be able to trace it back to us. The only thing they knew is that the location is the South Harbor and there are hundreds of yachts in the harbor." The man explained everything in one go, afraid that the Emperor would have no patience to listen to him.

The Emperor was still furious but he dismissed his subordinate. His skill was above average and he cannot afford to lose him yet. The Emperor was in deep thought as the fingers on his right hand were tapping the armrest in a rhythmic manner.

There were a lot of questions on his mind. How did they capture the shark? How did they figure out that there was a chip inside the shark? Who were they? Were they the security envoy of the crown prince?

He stopped the rhythmic tapping of the armrest and dialed a number. "Arrange for me to have a meal at the Ocean Palace tomorrow."

It looked like he really needed to pay a visit to that restaurant. He wanted to know who was smart enough to figure out that there was something wrong with the shark.

...

Ibarra’s family left Ocean Palace in the mid-afternoon. Marx wanted to send off Amaya but then there were too many cars so he decided to stay in the restaurant.

When they arrived at the palace, the crown prince was surprised to see an uninvited guest waiting for them.
