Raised From The Wild-Chapter 151: Marriage Proposal
"Aya, who is going to be married off to the King of Ra-Iya?" Marx casually asked as he aimed for the targets that were moving faster. Both he and Amaya were shooting arrows at the same time.
"The proposal is for me," Amaya said casually.
The arrow that Marx released was so off track that it hit the tree branch that was half a meter taller than the target.
He faced Amaya with a somber look. "What did you say?"
Amaya laughed when Marx missed the target.
"King Ralden wanted to marry the First Princess and that was me, but I did not agree. Grandpa and Daddy Ibrarra also did not agree."
Marx heaved a sigh of relief. He picked up another arrow and this time he hit the bullseye.
"However we will have dinner with him tonight. I agreed to it to compensate for rejecting his marriage proposal."
"Didn’t he has so many wives? Why would he need one more?" Marx narrowed his eyes as he released two consecutive arrows.
Amaya shrugged her shoulder. She stopped shooting arrows and watch Marx instead.
"Sis, Marx is so powerful. He can hit so many moving targets with ease." Donello exclaimed. He was watching the duo and can’t finally stay silent.
King Ralden who was still sitting with Prince Ibarra in the observation area in the training ground looked at the two people shooting the arrows. Their movements were synchronized and they seemed compatible. His eyes narrowed as he gazed at Marx. He found him an eyesore. He took out his cell phone and typed a cryptic message.
After a few more minutes, Amaya was tired and decided to stop practicing. Prince Ibarra and King Ralden, with the three other ladies headed to where Amaya and Marx were standing.
"You are spectacular Princess Amaya. I am pretty sure that you will win the tournament tomorrow." King Ralden smiled gently as he spoke which irked Marx. Why did it sound like he was seducing Amaya?
Marx glared at the king but he did not look at him even if he was standing close to Amaya.
"Oh, Marx’s results are much better than mine. His accuracy is almost 100%."
King Ralden frowned. He finally glanced at Marx. A pair of ocean-blue orbs met with that dark brown ones. The surrounding air seemed to freeze as both men battled in a staring contest.
Prince Ibarra noticed the hostility between the two men. He coughed lightly and invited everyone to the tea room for a light refreshment.
"Your Highness, I apologize I cannot stay as I have something to attend to." Marx politely declined Prince Ibarra’s invitation.
Ibarra was secretly happy. He felt that having King Ralden and Marx in one place was very dangerous. He cannot afford to offend any of them so it was better that Marx decided to leave.
Amaya accompanied Marx to the entrance of the palace.
"Are you not really staying?" Amaya asked.
Marx pinched her cheek before saying, "I need to meet with Dave. This is related to the auction this weekend."
"Take care then." Amaya waited for Marx’s car to leave before heading back.
"The First Princess seemed to be very close to that Marx Skylar." King Ralden made a comment to Prince Ibarra when Amaya went to send off Marx.
Prince Ibarra selected his words carefully. "They have been through a few life-threatening experiences. Anybody who experienced what they had will definitely share a close relationship."
"Hmm.." King Ralden nodded. He studied his distorted face that was reflected in the golden liquid in the cup.
Amaya decided to go back to her room to take a rest and did not return to the tea room. She lay down on her bed. Perhaps she was too tired that without meaning to, she dozed off.
"Princess, wake up!" Lilia called a few times but Amaya still wouldn’t wake up. The girl approached the bed and shook the princess gently.
Amaya woke up in a daze.
"Sorry to wake you up, Princess. It is already 5:00 o’clock. You need to dress up for the dinner tonight. The car will leave at 6:00 pm."
Amaya lazily stood from her bed. She went to the bathroom and splash cold water on her face and that made her fully awake. When she came out of the bathroom, Lilia has already prepared a light blue dress on the bed. It was a square neck sleeveless midi tank dress. There was a slit on the left side that was thigh-high. Lilia helped put on a matching necklace and dangling earrings with a flower and leaf pendant. Her hair was secured with a dainty hairpin on both sides of her head.
Amaya always prioritized comfort over beauty so most of her shoes were low-heeled sandals. She paired her dress with white sandals with straps that cris crossed her ankles.
Amaya did not apply any makeup at all. She was about to go out of the room when Lilia called her back.
"Princess, how about you apply blush-on and lipstick? I saw Zanzara and she wore full makeup."
Amaya sighed. She didn’t want to put makeup at all but because Lilia kept on pestering her, she let her do as she suggested.
The makeup indeed highlighted her beauty. It was very light but it made her lips become even fuller and her face was smoother.
Amaya headed to the receiving area near the entrance of the palace. She thought she was the first one to arrive but King Ralden was already there studying the paintings on the walls. They were the portraits of the Kings of Lireya. There were a total of ten paintings.
King Ralden, noticed her the moment she entered the room.
"Greetings, Your Majesty." She did a quick curtsy and stood opposite him looking at the portrait of the first King of Lireya.
"The Kings of Lireya have one thing in common. Do you know what it is, Princess?" King Ralden shifted his gaze to the Princess. He scanned her from head to toe and a look of admiration appeared in his eyes. Her dress was simple and her makeup very light and yet it highlighted her elegance and beauty.
What a pity! She cannot be his wife... for now, but later she will be!
