Raised From The Wild-Chapter 116: Driving Skills
"Why would she be jealous of me?" Amaya asked innocently.
"And why not? You are beautiful and excellent in so many ways." Marx reached out and pinched her chin gently.
"But she is beautiful too. Her skin is as white as milk and her lips are like cherries. Her cheeks are also pinkish."
Marx chuckled. "She is just good at putting on her make-up." He looked at his watch and was surprised at how fast time flies.
"It is very late. I’ll send you home."
"Can I drive?" Amaya acted cute when she asked Marx.
Marx hesitated for a moment but nodded afterward.
They left the zoo. Their guards walk by their side in an inconspicuous manner. A black Bently was already waiting for them at the entrance. Marx signaled his chauffeur and he reluctantly left the driver’s seat. He kept the door open for the princess and only closed it when she has settled down. He went to the back passenger seat. It was his honor to be driven by the First Princess of Lireya.
When the engine started, he braced himself and said a little prayer. He remembered the last time that she drove the car.
Amaya turned to her right and grinned at Marx. "Are you ready? This princess will be your driver for tonight." Amaya teased him.
Amaya stepped on the gas and the Bently surged forward. Marx was actually surprised to find that she could already drive well.
"It seemed that you have a lot of practice."
"Yes. I asked the driver to let me drive from and to school."
When they entered the road leading to the castle, Amaya floored the gas, and the car shoot like an arrow.
Marx’s heart was on his throat. He never thought that Amaya could be this reckless.
"Amaya slow down!" His voice was terse.
The car looked like it would crash into the gate but it stopped a few centimeters from the enormous iron gate.
The soldiers who were guarding the gate were dumbfounded. They initially thought that the driver was a terrorist on a suicide mission. Several guards surrounded the car with their guns aimed on it.
The window on the driver’s seat rolled down. A few soldiers redirected the nozzle of their guna to the passenger seat.
Marx was very angry. He never expected Amaya to do such a dangerous stunt.
"Amaya Rocas, if I know that you’ll do something like this, I should not have agreed to let you drive," Marx said sternly.
Amaya blinked her eyes innocently. "But it was fun." She turned to the left and stuck her head outside the car window.
The soldiers were taken aback when they saw the pretty face sticking out of the car window. When they regained their senses, they retracted their guns and bowed apologetically to the princess.
"Our apologies, Princess. We thought it was a terrorist on a suicide mission." The leader of the soldiers said.
When Marx heard what the soldier said he pursed his lips. He understood how dangerous it was.
"Did you know that they could have fired directly at us when you did not slow down while approaching the gate?" Marx was still angry. Amaya turned to him and looked aggrieved. He sighed heavily and swallowed the rest of the words he wanted to say. When Amaya looked at him with those doe-like eyes, his heart melted, and cannot continue to scold her.
He opened the passenger door and walked toward the driver’s seat.
"I’m sorry, I haven’t anticipated that she would stop at the very last minute." He explained to the soldier who previously spoke to Amaya. He opened the door and waited for Amaya to get off. The driver who was sitting in the back seat was very pale. He then realized that his boss was angry and was chasing the princess from the driver’s seat.
He got off from the car and stood behind his boss.
"Marx, I’d like to drive and park the car. I promise I will behave and will not do it for fun anymore."
The people outside the car were speechless.
Did she do it just for fun?
"Princess, let me be bold enough to share my thoughts with you." The leader started. "What you did just now was very dangerous. You put your life at risk. We almost wanted to blast the car with cannon. And if indeed we did that, then all of us here will be executed for murdering the first princess of Lireya even if it is only accidental." The soldier tried to explain. He hoped that the princess would understand the gravity of her actions.
Amaya was silent for a few seconds. She was thinking deeply. She did not realize that her simple decision to enjoy the car would put her and other people at risk.
"I am sorry. This will not happen again." She said regretfully. Then she looked at Marx and added, "Can I continue to drive until I parked the car? I will do it properly this time."
Marx looked at Amaya’s face. He was considering whether to give in to her request or not. He asked his chauffeur to go back to the passenger seat at the back before he went back to the passenger seat.
Amaya maneuvered the car and entered the gate. She kept a steady speed of just 60 kph and after five minutes, she parked the car at the front of the fountain.
"You should have done the same earlier. Start to slow down when you are a bit far away. Don’t wait for the last minute to hit the break. What if the break suddenly malfunctioned? Then you will not have a chance of correcting it because you already have crashed into something." Marx said gently even though he still scolded Amaya.
"Are you angry with me, Marx? I have already said sorry earlier. I will not make you angry anymore. I promise not to do it in the future." She lifted her right hand and let her palm touch her chest.
"Princess Amaya!"
