Queen Mommy's Six Genius Babies Found the CEO Daddy-Chapter 87: He Looks Even More Handsome Now
The next morning, as expected, Sophia woke up in Lucas’ arms.
"Aren’t you supposed to be on a 9 AM flight?"
She kept her eyes closed, no longer surprised by her sleepwalking behavior.
Lucas raised an eyebrow. "I’m leaving. Shouldn’t you be flattering me one last time?"
"Flattering you? How?"
"Well... maybe... tie my tie for me, or button my shirt?"
Sophia rolled over, covering her head with the blanket. "If you’re leaving, then leave already. Stop dragging it out, you sound like an old lady."
Lucas shot a glance at her and calmly said, "I’m not leaving."
In an instant, Sophia sat up straight, "Where’s your clothes?!"
She hurriedly grabbed his clothes, putting them next to him. "Hurry, hurry, get dressed or you’ll miss the flight!"
"You want me to leave so quickly?"
"Of course not, I’m just doing this for your own good. If you miss the flight, you’ll be upset. Maybe even more upset later! And the ticket change fee, it’s hundreds of dollars, how expensive is that?"
"Do you think I’m short a few hundred dollars?"
With Lucas’ wealth, even if he dropped a few hundred thousand, he wouldn’t stop.
After all, a few seconds of delay could be worth more to him.
As Lucas buttoned his shirt, he suddenly stopped at the second-to-last button.
"Why’d you stop?"
"I’m waiting for you."
Sophia raised an eyebrow, muttering under her breath about how dramatic he was.
Then, with quick, nimble fingers, she buttoned the rest and tied his tie for him.
"I’ve never served anyone like this before. You’re the first. If you don’t stay gone for a few months, I’ll feel like I’m wasting my efforts."
Lucas didn’t speak. His head lowered just enough for him to catch a glimpse of her long lashes and, further down, her soft pink lips.
"Sophia."
"Hmm?"
She looked up, startled, "Ah!"
To her surprise, Lucas suddenly scooped her up and set her down at the edge of the bed. He then knelt in front of her.
"The floor’s cold. After I leave, remember to wear shoes. Also, you’ve already arranged for the six kids to go to school, but you didn’t tell me about it. I happened to see the schedule you made for them."
He continued, his voice steady, "When I’m not around, if they get rowdy, don’t hesitate to discipline them. Don’t spoil them. Also, Mrs. Wilson’s cooking is usually a little bland. I prefer lighter food, but you like it sweet and spicy—let her know to adjust. The air conditioning should be set at 25 degrees, but 26 degrees is best. After showers, dry your hair. Don’t let it stay wet—it can lead to colds and germs. And no snacks on the bed! Make sure to eat breakfast, otherwise, your stomach will be upset."
He went on for a while, feeling like he had said more in these few minutes than he had in the last several decades.
Sophia felt a little dazed, her ankle suddenly feeling cold.
She looked down and saw a delicate anklet resting around her ankle. She hesitated, "Lucas, are you... putting shackles on me?"
"Yes, a shackle just for you. At least until I come back, I won’t lose you."
He looked up, meeting her gaze.
Lucas stood up, rubbing her head affectionately, and locked eyes with her. "Remember, you come first in everything. Don’t hesitate to deal with any trouble that comes your way. Understand?"
"Understood."
She nodded, still in shock.
Why did it feel like Lucas was different today?
Did he look... more handsome?
"Well, I’m off now."
He turned, his perfect figure disappearing out the door.
The car downstairs had been waiting for a while, but Sophia didn’t go downstairs.
Instead, she walked over to the window, watching as the car drove off. Her face, once expressionless, suddenly broke into a smile.
It was as if Lucas had a sixth sense, his gaze lifting instinctively.
In just one glance, he saw an angel.
It reminded him of that unexpected night six years ago, when she had fallen from the sky like a spirit, adding a vivid splash of color to his life.
He suddenly realized how childish he had been.
A genius, renowned in the business world, becoming a little naive and holding onto a sense of revenge because of a woman?
Lucas couldn’t help but laugh at himself, stepping into the car.
The car’s shadow grew further away, slowly fading into the distance.
Sophia withdrew her gaze, her smile gradually disappearing.
She looked down at her bare feet, the sunlight casting a glow on her silver anklet, which shimmered in the light.
She let out a soft sigh and stretched.
Lucas had left.
Just three short days later, things at the company unfolded exactly as he had expected—someone couldn’t sit still.
"Mr. Hilton, the boss is out, and you don’t have the authority to use the company seal."
Aiden’s eyes were full of hostility. "Alex, you’re just a little secretary. I’m on the board of directors, and you think you can control me?"
Alex stood his ground, blocking Aiden’s path, unyielding. No matter how Aiden taunted him, he didn’t take a step back.
"Mr. Hilton, the boss specifically told me that I’m to act as his proxy. I have full authority, so I’d appreciate it if you would consult with the boss before proceeding."
Aiden laughed derisively. "You? Just you? Alex, after following Lucas around for years, you’ve really become a loyal dog, haven’t you?"
Alex’s face reddened slightly, but he still stood firm. "Mr. Hilton, I’ll say this one last time—You do not have the authority to use the boss’s seal. Please leave."
"Just a secretary, and you dare threaten me? Who do you think you are? I could teach you a lesson right now, and there’s no one who’d step in to stop me!"
Aiden’s behavior grew increasingly erratic, and he started threatening Alex.
His fist was raised, about to strike, when suddenly—
"Uncle, fighting is strictly prohibited in the office, you know?"
Aiden froze. Sophia walked in, looking professional and poised.
She wore a pair of black velvet high heels, and her long, slender legs were enough to make anyone take a second glance.
"Miss Morgan."
"Alex, I told you I’d be a little late. Why can’t you be flexible? Go ahead, pour Aiden uncle a cup of coffee first."
She looked at Aiden with a harmless smile. "Uncle, we should always sit down and discuss things properly, don’t you think?"
Aiden’s face turned sour as he crossed his arms and slouched into the chair.
"Lucas left, and I have a contract that needs his seal."
"Uncle, so it’s just a small matter, huh?"
Alex poured the coffee and placed it beside them, then stood behind Sophia.
Aiden shot him a glare. "Yes, it’s just a small matter, but this secretary treats it like a big deal."
Sophia turned to him with a smile. "A small matter? Why are you blocking it then?"
"Miss Morgan, the boss... he..."
"Rules are dead, but people are alive. Learn to be flexible!"
Sophia looked at him with a disappointed expression, as if he should have known better. Then she turned to Aiden, slightly confused. "Uncle, what was it you wanted?"
"Lucas’s seal."
"Oh~"
Sophia dragged out the word and smiled. "Uncle, I’m sorry to tell you, Lucas took the seal with him. How could he leave it behind?"
"That’s impossible. How could..."
Sophia’s expression became unreadable as she leaned back in her office chair, looking at him calmly, her hands raised in a shrug. "Don’t believe me? Why don’t you search for it yourself?"
