Kuro’s body wrapped around her neck like a scarf as Bing Shi ran toward the gates to greet Ziek and Dai An, who had arrived just in time for lunch.
A male with deer antlers was carrying a petite beastwoman in bridal style. Her long, silky white hair was braided in a single braid, and her eyes of multiple colors shined subtly like diamonds under the light. She wasn’t moving at all, her face frozen in a calm expression.
Bing Shi didn’t even have to act like she had fallen in love. She fit with the rest of the males perfectly. Dai An looked more like a goddess than the goddess in question herself.
It seemed that her husband chose the full herbivore path because Xuan Mu, who landed by Ziek’s side also chose a herbivore, albeit a flying one.
A black bunny, a black deer, and a... black swan? He was clearly making fun of the food chain of this world, or rather, the hierarchy. The underdog beastmen that were believed to go extinct were the ones with a mate this time. No stripes adored their muscular bodies either.

He gulped and took a few steps back as Bingsheep stepped forward and asked immediately if the ethereal fairy would take her in as her mate. Compared to the more reserved Meyiang, this female had no say in this matter and the males seemed to decide for her.
The bunny male was the first to speak up. "Bingsheep passed all the tests," Hubby said as if he had doubts before, "He will be a worthy addition to our pack."
All the sheep beastmen hung their mouths open. Tests? What test?
Bing Shi blinked her eyes before closing her mouth, impressed by the way Ru Quan fit their arrival into the narrative perfectly. The beastmen would have to reach her competency level to have the right to be with Dai An and that shouldn’t happen anytime soon.

Meanwhile, the village chief could only cry in the corner, fearing for their future. The most beautiful creature had just joined their village, and there was absolutely no chance in hell that carnivore beastmen wouldn’t come to take her away from them. No herbivore beastman could ever win against them, which was why any male with a female would move into the Beast City to find protection.
Dana (Dai An) was wearing a silk dress and looked so dainty, and delicate that the herbivore males couldn’t take their eyes off her. Their lower bodies began to swell with desire, but they were afraid to approach her, fearing they might scare her off. Like a white lotus flower, they just wanted to protect her, and keep her safe, even if they couldn’t have her (beauty privilege at its finest).
"..." Bing Shi quickly led Ziek, Xuan Mu and Dai An away to the hut, where Meiyiang and Paxter still had no idea what was going on. This was such a whim that all her plans had to be changed on the go. "I’m back," she said, opening the hut’s doors.
"Welcome back," Meiyiang said with a warm smile. Her gaze swept over the unfamiliar faces, "Who is this?"
She wondered if Bingsheep had found her new candidates to consider taking in as her mates. Both were tall, had striking black eyes and equally dark hair, but it was the contrast in their auras that caught her attention.
One had the antlers and the soft lashed big eyes typical for deers, but his stare was guarded, almost sharp. The kind of male who’d pick a fight with you if you looked at him wrong.
The other, more elegant in his posture, on the other hand, didn’t even look at her. His gaze drifted past as if she were air and he’d already decided she wasn’t worth inhaling.
"Meiyiang, meet Dana, and the rest of her males. They will be staying in the village with us from now on," Bing Shi said, and then added, "She agreed to mate with me, so I hope you two get along."
Paxter’s jaw dropped, and Meiyang gasped in surprise.
"What about Meyiang?" Paxter wasn’t satisfied with the sudden betrayal, "Why would you do this to her?!"
Bing Shi took the chance to shrug off some part of the blame, "Meyiang wasn’t proactive enough and I never knew what my stand was with her, but Dana here was very clear from the start that she would choose me as one of her mates. I don’t want to wait until the end of time for Meiyang to finally make up her mind about me."
It might help the female lead be more proactive, or not, but the truth was that Bing Shi wasn’t willing to wait until she was ready in a world where survival of the fittest was the norm.
Meiyiang’s heart sank. She had lost another male, and to another female at that, "I... I understand," she mumbled, and then turned to Dana, "Nice to meet you."
Cradled in Ziek’s arms, Dana gave Meiyiang an absentminded smile. No words, no expressions, no gestures, just a simple, lifeless smile.
Dai An had no idea how to operate her new body yet, and was still struggling to get used to the feeling of having a physical form.
"Hubby," Bing Shi called out, and both Xuan Mu’s and Ziek’s heads snapped towards her, then at each other. Stares hardened as the two of them competed for the title of Hubby.
While everyone was still confused about the whole situation, a toddler with bunny ears hopped inside the hut.
"Mommy," Stinky Bun was running away from Daddy Ru Quan who was chasing him to give him a bath. "Mommy, save bun," he called out, jumping into Bing Shi’s arms.
"..." Bing Shi’s brain short-circuited for a moment and caught the little bun before she could think it through, then realized that nobody knew what the word Mommy meant.
She was starting to wonder if this was a good idea. How was she supposed to focus on her mission with all these precious distractions?!
It was as if someone was trying to keep her from accomplishing her task, but at the same time, she felt like she had already won the biggest prize.
