QT: Against My Will-Chapter 642 - 13.07 - Pitiful Creature - Pawprints of Passion
Bing Shi didn’t expect the beastmen’s noses to be that sensitive. She thought that their scents would blend together in the tree’s trunk, but a few wolf beastmen caught Tyrion’s smell and alerted the guards.
Tyrion was so out of it, that he didn’t even care about the danger lurking around. His mate was more terrifying and vicious than any beasts he could’ve faced. He couldn’t help but tremble at the memory of her cruelty that crushed his spirit and made his heart ache.
Bing Shi threw her jacket over his lap and whispered, "I’m going to lead them away, you stay here. Give me your skirt."
"Huh?"
"Shush," she hushed him, sneaking out after he handed her his loin skirt.
"Hey! Over there! It’s him!!" a wolf beastman exclaimed.
"Kill him!!!"
"Don’t let him get away!!"
Crushing a speed pill, Bing Shi quickly leaped away, leading the beastmen further away. Fast enough to lose them. Throwing Tyrion’s clothes in the river, she quickly turned back to the tree.
Tyrion was already fully awake, and was waiting for her, covering his private parts with the jacket.
"Let’s go, they should be coming back soon," she said and he nodded.
They made their way deeper into the woods, settling down in another tree. The sun had begun to set and the shadows of the night engulfed the forest, making it darker and deadlier.
"Why?" His voice was low and hoarse, "If you hate me, just kill me already."
"Why would I do that?"
"Because... you despise me," Tyrion’s eyes were swollen, his cheeks red.
He thought it didn’t matter whether she liked him or not as long as they were together. Her love didn’t matter, her acceptance didn’t matter, her comfort didn’t matter, nor her kindness.
If he had regained his strength and power, he would have easily kept her beside him, and would even break her legs so she wouldn’t be able to escape him, and lock her away where nobody would be able to find her.
Now, he wasn’t sure anymore. He was too weak and fragile to keep her by his side, or be seen as useful. He became a burden, and yet, instead of running away or killing him, she stayed for some reason. Did she enjoy torturing him? Did she derive pleasure from his misery? Why would she help him right after?
""If you didn’t view me as your mate, I would have had my neck snapped already, wouldn’t I?" Bing Shi asked, her tone mocking, "You don’t care about me, you care about what I represent, the connection you feel," she continued, "I don’t need any of that to show mercy to a pitiful creature like you. I’m staying because I want to stop fate from twisting your feelings, and not because you’re my mate, or because I need you."
Tyrion couldn’t see her expression in the dark, but he could imagine her mocking him with her eyes. If she wasn’t his mate, he wouldn’t even glance at her, and would’ve left her in the woods to be eaten by some other beast, and the reality of the fact hit him hard.
"Get some rest," she said, "I’m going to get some water," and with that, she left him alone.
Tyrion felt an intense sense of loss and loneliness, and the despair that had taken root inside him began to grow and flourish. He needed her, he needed her in a way that defied his mind, and made him want to throw himself into the abyss.
"Aaahhh!" he groaned and punched the tree. She’d come back. The thought calmed him down. She always did, and each time, she brought more misery than before.
He could no longer view her just as his mate, but a bane to his existence, a poison that would slowly kill him if he didn’t cure it.
He closed his eyes and tried to rest. The mate in his vision soon turned into a stranger, a female he knew nothing about, a person he had yet to discover, but would surely hurt him once he did.

Bing Shi leaned her shoulder against a tree, "Ugh." She pulled out her flask of water and rinsed her mouth.
’The HQ should really reconsider assigning these types of quests to a married woman.’
After spitting out the water, she slid down to the ground, taking deep breaths.
|"Did you call for me?"| The sound of Ru Quan’s voice sliced through her thoughts. He felt something was amiss, and decided to give his wife a call.
|"No?"| Bing Shi looked up at the dark surroundings, her face light up at the sound of him, |"I’m sure I didn’t."|
|"Hm, I probably just missed you then,"| Ru Quan said with a smile, his eyes softening, |"How is your mission going?"|
|"It’s going well,"| Bing Shi giggled, feeling giddy inside just from a few words, |"Extremely well. And you?"|
|"Extremely well as well. Would have been even better if I could see you,"| he said, chuckling as she sent him the beautiful scenery of the starry sky, |"You. The one I want to see is you, Sweetie."|
Bing Shi quickly wiped her face and changed her clothes while popping a rejuvenation pill. Screw the mission. Her husband couldn’t see her in her current state no matter what!
Ru Quan scanned her face as she held up her mirror, |"Now, show me your body."|
"..." Bing Shi blinked innocently as she looked down at her chest and arms, showing him her hands and fingers next.
|"Is it cold in here?"| he asked calmly, noticing her trembling arms and legs.
|"A bit,"| Bing Shi said, blowing some air to show him the cold perspiration.
|"Put this on then."|
Bing Shi was taken aback by the sudden weight of thick fabric landing softly on her lap. Unfolding it, she discovered a black, long sleeved shirt and a thick tactical vest, both still holding the gentle heat from his body.
She brought the vest to her nose, breathing in deeply, |"Thank you,"| she said, hugging the garments close. She let his warmth seep into her bones before she carefully put them on.
She smiled happily as she showed herself off, an oversized fit, but comfortable nonetheless, especially since it was his.
|"My beautiful wife, who is warmer now, and not trembling like a leaf anymore, may I ask why the hell is she outside in the freezing cold, in nothing but a tank top?"|
|"Oh..."| Bing Shi laughed nervously, trying to explain how she didn’t feel the cold because her mind was occupied with a lot of things, and how she forgot that the cold would affect her physical health and body, |"Umm... I guess, the quest is a little more challenging than I expected?"|
|"What’s that supposed to mean? Are you saying it’s too difficult for you to handle?"|
|"No, no, no. That’s not what I’m saying. It’s just that... I’ve been staying alone with this guy for quite a while, and he’s very demanding and clingy, soo... yeah, I might have broken him a little and probably have gone a bit overboard,"| she said, looking away shyly, |"Umm... We’ve also been sleeping quite close lately, and you know, it’s not easy to be away from you and stuff, and I was thinking about you all the time, and... I wish you were here to put him in his place, or... make him stop looking at me like I’m his lover. It’s kind of creepy."|
|"Do you need my help?"| Ru Quan asked in surprise, his expression turning serious, |"I’ll be right there."|
|"Only if you are free,"| Bing Shi said with a smile, feeling her body warm up even more, and not just from his clothes, |"I would rather have a real deal in person than ask someone else to act as a fill-in."|
|"For you, I’m always free,"| he said, his gaze softening, |"Any preferences for my new look and role?"|
She grinned from ear to ear, feeling giddy all over, her toes curling in anticipation, |"Surprise me."|
