Chapter 530: 8.47 - Talent For Accidents - Monster Heist

Elera sighed, causing her thoughts to drift towards a particular question. Could it be possible that someone else had possessed Silvia’s body after her death? The scenarios played in her mind, akin to those tales where the true villainess would meet an unfortunate end only to get a second chance in life.

Did the person who had ended Silvia’s life somehow triggered this transformation? Elera contemplated this notion. It was as if either a new person had taken Silvia’s place or Silvia herself had undergone a remarkable change.

Nathaniel’s and Shina’s conversation took an edge as Shina continued, "You know, I’m like a cockroach. I just keep coming back, no matter how many times I get squished," Her lips curled into an eerie smile, a veiled warning lingering in her words, "But let’s not forget, it’s usually the person trying to squish me who ends up getting the most frustrated." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

With a faint, dismissive smile, Nathaniel interjected, "Oh, absolutely. But, as the saying goes, every pest has its predator."

"..." The underlying threat in Nathaniel’s words was not lost on Bing Shi. He was ready to kill her existence, break her character, and turn her into his wife again, ’But I like being Shina Night, ah!’

"As for accidents," Nathaniel continued, his eyes narrowing, "Let’s just say I have a talent for making them happen." He extended his hand toward Shina’s face, ’What would happen if I kissed her right here and now?’

Bing Shi’s eyes widened in alarm at Nathaniel’s sudden move, and without thinking twice, she quickly punched his hand while crushing a speed and strength pill, ’Why don’t I just break his character instead?’

Nathaniel’s hand recoiled from the impact, and a look of surprise flashed across his face. He stumbled backward with such force that he crashed into the nearest wall, causing a thunderous boom that echoed throughout the dining hall.

The impact was so powerful that the ground trembled and the walls shook. The concrete floor cracked and heaved as he tried to lower the impact. The walls buckled under the pressure, forming a huge dent where Nathaniel had crashed into them.

The soldiers and miners who were nearby were thrown off their feet and sent flying. Victor flew over to catch Elera, shielding her from the impact. Tables and chairs overturned, crashing to the ground with a deafening noise.

For a moment, no one moved, the hall was silent except for the sound of Nathaniel’s movements. In a split second, he charged toward Shina, his body moving with incredible speed and agility. The air around him crackled with the intensity of his magic.

She braced herself for the impact. Nathaniel closed in, and she swiftly sidestepped and kicked him in the back, sending him tumbling forward. Her speed allowed her to close the distance before he could react, and her strength allowed her to deliver a powerful blow.

She quickly circled behind him, pressing her body against his back and wrapping her arms tightly around his neck.

The soldiers watched in amazement. For a moment, it seemed like she might have the upper hand, but once Nathaniel unleashed his ice magic, it would be over for her.

With a sudden burst of magic, Nathaniel summoned a blast of freezing cold air that encased them both in ice. Shina struggled to breathe as the air grew colder and colder, her limbs growing numb and heavy.

"You can’t win," he managed to wheeze out between breaths in the provocation. If he didn’t do something, he would really die. The temperature in the room dropped rapidly, and frost began to form on the walls and floor.

Unable to comprehend what he was saying due to the speed pill, Shina shattered the ice with a burst of strength, dodging the icy tendrils that lashed out at her.

The people in the dining hall could only see a mirage of the aftereffects of Shina’s movements. She moved so quickly that it was almost impossible to follow. They could only see her warm breaths which turned to visible puffs of mist in the icy air.

The air around Nathaniel was dangerously low, making it difficult for Shina to approach him without suffering from hypothermia or frostbite. They had noticed that Nathaniel’s fingers on his right hand were broken, likely from the earlier punch, and he had an ice pack in its place to stem the bleeding.

Shina ducked and weaved, but a few of the shards grazed her skin, leaving behind bloody gashes. She didn’t fear his ice magic, but the knowledge that Nathaniel was a master strategist who could analyze her every move and exploit her weaknesses with chilling precision.

The icy tendrils that were once sluggish now moved with a sharpness and density that made it difficult for her to dodge them. Her limbs felt heavy and sluggish, and her muscles grew stiff and unresponsive.

As she moved, she observed Nathaniel’s movements and tried to find a weakness in his defense. Every gap felt like a trap.

Shina tried to keep a safe distance away from Nathaniel, her eyes trained on him as she caught her breath. "You know, Nathaniel," she said, "we could have just talked it out like civilized people instead of resorting to this kind of violence."

He took a step forward, his expression unreadable, as if he was not afraid of death, "You think I haven’t tried that before?" his lips curled into a scoff, "But some people just don’t listen until you give them a good punch."

(A/N: He was reffering how Silvia finally changed when he did that, lol.)

In an instant, Nathaniel teleported into the empty air, and as soon as she appeared, he aimed a kick at her, sending her hurtling toward the ground.

With a quick burst of speed and strength, she managed to twist her body mid-air, narrowly avoiding crashing into the ground. Her muscles protested as she tried to stand, her limbs feeling heavy and unresponsive from the impact.

As Nathaniel launched another kick, Shina leaped into the air, twisting her body mid-flight. With lightning-fast reflexes, she reached out and grabbed the back of his head, pulling him towards her.

With a burst of strength, Shina brought her knee up, slamming it into Nathaniel’s face. The impact was jarring, sending shockwaves through both their bodies as he was thrown back.

For a brief moment, Nathaniel was stunned, unable to believe that he had lost focus for even a second. He staggered to his feet, blood trickling down his face from the impact of her knee.

After a few minutes of intense fighting, Shina raised her hand in a give-up motion, "I surrender." She crushed her rejuvenation pill.

Nathaniel wiped away the blood from the corner of his mouth with his left hand, "For someone who claims to have surrendered, you’re still holding on pretty tight."

"I won’t lie, Nathaniel, I wanted you to scream in defeat, but I’ve lost so many times that another loss won’t really hurt me," Shina began to clean up the mess they had created during their fight scene, "It’s just another battle to move on from."

Her teammates began to help her out; an earth user repaired the wall and the people who were injured got medical attention.

He was being reminded how there would never be only one cockroach, and that if he wanted to really defeat her, he would have to take them down all at once.

With a wave of his left hand, Nathaniel reversed the damage that had been caused by his ice magic. Tables and chairs that had been overturned righted themselves and the broken dishes were magically restored to their former glory.
