QT: Against My Will-Chapter 511 - 8.28 -The Graduation Ceremony - Monster Heist
Mr. Jenkings took the stage, his robes billowing behind him. He looked out over the sea of students, beaming with pride at the young men and women before him. "Today is a day of graduation," he began, his voice echoing through the hall, "You have learned the theory and practice of magic. You have honed your skills and discovered your strengths. And now, it is time to put all that knowledge into practice."
Some people in the hall noticed a short, chubby figure slumping against the corner wall. On closer inspection, they saw that she was wearing a black shield mask that completely covered her face, making identification impossible if not for the cane she was holding, "..."
After naming all the graduates’ names, Mr. Jenkins continued, "From tomorrow onwards, you will embark on a journey behind the barriers. You will be tested on everything you have learned, and your survival will depend on your knowledge and skill. Those with magical powers will be expected to use them to the fullest, while those without magical powers will need to rely on your modern equipment and intellect to combat your way through the hardships."
Mr. Jenkins paused, his gaze sweeping the room once more. "Remember, this journey is not only about survival, it’s about growing and discovering who you truly are. Whether you have magic in your veins or not, you have all earned your place here today!"
With that, Mr. Jenkings stepped down from the stage, and the students cheered, the after-party finally commenced. The students were all wearing beautiful robes and tuxedos, with a graduation emblem adorning their left chests. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Bing Shi clapped her hands, disappointed that she couldn’t wear the robe she prepared for this day and could only wear the only ’festive’ outfit which currently fit her body, her uniform. She also regretted that she didn’t throw a few costumes and birthday parties while she still could.
Standing alone at the edge of the crowd, someone was about to tap her shoulder, but she used her cane to stop them before turning around. It was Liam, Bertha, and Juliet.
Liam smiled and held out a glass, wearing a white shirt with a gold tie and a black jacket with red lining, "Congratulations on making it out alive, My Lady."
"Welcome back," Juliet bowed deeply and said, "I am honored to have witnessed such a momentous occasion with you."
Bing Shi smiled softly, taking the glass Liam offered as the music changed to something more upbeat. A few couples began dancing, while others were talking excitedly about their future plans.
Elera screamed internally at the appearance of the ’mysterious’ person. Even though the female lead fell from her grace and hit rock bottom, at the end of the day, Silvia was still a miraculous being—the world’s bellowed daughter that broke all laws of logic!
"What brings you all to me?" Bing Shi asked the group, "Everyone is starting to take notice." she said, referring to the attention they were getting from other students.
"That’s why we are here," Liam clinked his glass with hers, "Could you share some of your cockroach DNA with me? I will need it to survive outside of the barriers."
"I second that," said Bertha, wearing a black tuxedo, she clinked her glass with Bing Shi’s, "They called up Silvia’s name."
Wearing a white suit with a purple shirt and a green bowtie, Henry walked by them and said, "That was to be expected. Silvia was known for being a tyrant and got what was coming to her, but let’s not forget that she was still an S-class student at the end of the day."
He revealed that the school had blamed Silvia for her own death to preserve their clean image, which had further damaged her reputation. However, they did allow her to graduate as a gesture of goodwill.
Bing Shi acknowledged with a nod, idly playing with the liquid in her own glass, "Great. Now, everyone will think that I’m Silvia."
Juliet rolled her eyes at the person who didn’t even bother to hide her identity and lifted her glass, "I thought you would be more lowkey."
"It’s hard to blend in when your mere presence outshines even Nathaniel Hauxley’s," Bing Shi squealed in excitement, looking them up and down, "You all look so dashingly handsome today!"
Laura giggled loudly, "Thank you, they all ran to me for help," she handed Bing Shi a big box, "This is for you."
"What’s this?" Bing Shi asked as a group of students began to gather around her. She couldn’t hold back her tears as she opened the box to reveal around thirty-degree certificates, each one worth valuable points towards being accepted into the LAD, "..." She immediately checked their authenticity, "You almost got me for a second."
Henry’s voice was steady, his tone firm and assured as he spoke, "We’ll deliver on our end, but you’ve got to promise us the same. We don’t need a leader to show off to the world but someone who could..."
Bing Shi cut in, "Guide you towards achieving your wildest aspirations...and maybe even some of your not-so-wild ones too."
The group couldn’t help but chuckle in relief upon seeing Bing Shi’s ability to inject humor even in the face of death, showcasing her unwavering strength and resilience in times of crisis.
Bing Shi gave the box to Bertha, "Alright guys, I know I’ve already asked you to trust me before, but how about just one more time? I promise I won’t lead you off a cliff or anything." She paused, whispering into the communicator inside her mask, "Unless of course there’s a treasure at the bottom."
The team laughed and agreed, knowing that Bing Shi’s unconventional ways had always led them to victory in the past. They had no reason to doubt her now.
As she passed by Nathaniel Hauxley, she slyly raised her glass and spilled the contents onto his black tuxedo, earning a few gasps from her peers. And with a flick of her wrist, she threw the glass at Victor, who was standing next to Elera. The glass shattered on impact as Victor reflected it to the ground, sending shards flying in every direction.
The room was filled with tense silence as everyone waited with bated breath. Suddenly, Bing Shi’s mischievous grin behind the mask broke through the tension, making her feel like the ultimate female lead. You know the kind like a Mary Sue who could slap notoriously powerful and ’dangerous’ people without any consequences, such as death.
"..." Nathaniel blinked twice in confusion as the sea of students suddenly began to dance around the hall as a cover, causing Bing Shi to disappear into the crowd, ’Did she...did she just spill her drink on me?’ He looked down at the icy patch before his chest that could have soaked his clothes if he didn’t freeze it on time.
The group moved with efficient stealth, snatching up food and drinks from the hall as if it were a coordinated military operation. Laura raised a middle finger and playfully pulled out her tongue at a few students as she swiftly nabbed a bowl of chips.
With graduation behind them, what was there left to fear in this school? Fuck. The LADs...They bolted from the scene in a flash, not wanting to deal with them.
