Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 815 - 813: The Plan (2)
"He still loves and protects you as he did before, right?" Jimmy Horne chuckled softly, reminiscing about their childhood days, those were the days he cherished most.
"Of course, Brother Ivan isn’t like you, always bullying me."
Jimmy Horne laughed again.
He just wanted to grab her attention his own way, to occupy her heart.
"I really miss him."
Jimmy Horne said sincerely.
"Brother Ivan misses you too," Camila Ruiz said, then suddenly she smiled as if she thought of something funny.
Jimmy Horne glanced at her.
"What should we have for lunch?" Instead of explaining why she suddenly smiled, Camila Ruiz asked about their lunch plans. She had to prepare everything herself, and since it was getting late, they should get ready.
"Do you want to eat the birds and beasts from the mountains or fish and shrimp from the water?"
"Anything is fine, as long as it’s edible," Camila Ruiz wasn’t picky at all, as long as it filled her stomach. This was one reason Julia liked her, feeling that even though she was from a prestigious family, she didn’t have the snootiness often associated with it, reminding her of her own youthful self. Though not her biological child, Julia loved her more dearly than if she were her own.
Sometimes Ivan would jokingly complain to his mother that when Camila Ruiz was around, his mother couldn’t remember who he was. Of course, Ivan was just joking; his love and care for Camila Ruiz were no less than Julia’s.
"Then let’s go catch fish; I’ll teach you how," Jimmy Horne quickly got up, grabbed her hand, and walked off.
Camila Ruiz struggled, shaking off his hand.
He raised an eyebrow, teasing, "You’ve held my hand so many times, isn’t it a bit late to be shy now?"
"Jimmy Horne!"
Camila Ruiz blushed and called out, immediately raising her fist and hitting him unceremoniously, and the two started playfully tussling.
In the distance.
On the rooftop.
Kay Kennal watched the playful young pair with sharp eagle eyes, his lips tightly pressed.
"Boss, enjoying the view?"
Iceberg No. 2, a name also given by Jimmy Horne.
Among ten people, except for Kay Kennal and Oscar Evans, the other eight had been named from Iceberg No. 1 to Iceberg No. 8 by Jimmy Horne.
Iceberg No. 2 looked about forty, with regular features and some handsomeness, but he always appeared expressionless, exuding a cold aura, much like a zombie.
He spoke in a jesting tone, but his face remained unsmiling, like a walking corpse.
As he walked over to Kay Kennal, he followed his gaze to the pair of young people in the distance and commented, "The young master already meets the criteria to graduate." Last night’s assassination attempt, while they had hoped for their boss to personally intervene, the outcome was as expected.
This young master was the most astute among his predecessors, and it was said that the former young masters had to reach eighteen before they could successfully defeat them and withstand assassination attempts without sustaining injuries, yet this young master had never been seen injured, while they bore the brunt of it.
Iceberg No. 1 always complained that the young master seemed to have a vendetta against his left leg, as every counterattack injured it.
This young master was a natural talent for martial arts, easily mastering whatever they taught him.
"He’s still young, no matter how mature beyond his years, he’s just fifteen. Look, when he’s with the young girl, his true nature shows,"
Kay Kennal said coldly.
"The current master is deeply devoted to one woman, having pushed away all other women offered to him, leaving only two sons, born from the same mother, sharing a brotherly bond, so there’s no chance of repeats of past familial conflicts. This...seems like a major shift for our Flame Gate. The young master clearly is affectionate and considerate towards the young girl. We all saw it earlier at lunch,"
Iceberg No. 2 said coolly, his tone neither approving nor disapproving. The affectionate scene of sharing a meal was something these unromantic men couldn’t comprehend.
"There are great temptations in the outside world."
Kay Kennal merely stated.
"Do you have a plan, Boss?"
Iceberg No. 2 picked up on Kay Kennal’s implications.
"Oscar has gone out again, right?"
Iceberg No. 2 nodded.
Under Finn’s threat, Oscar Evans grudgingly went out.
"Elder Anlu’s daughter, Florence has a fondness for the young master. Timed right, after Oscar lands, call him and ask him to find Florence and bring her back here. Two girls and one guy, now that’s entertainment," Kay Kennal said darkly, obviously wanting to test Jimmy Horne in a different way.
As the heir to the Flame Gate, one must withstand the test of beauty.
"Boss, that would break the rules."
Kay Kennal glared at him, icily asking, "Do you think we still have rules now?" referring to Camila Ruiz. Deep down, he resented Jimmy Horne for using snakes, venomous insects, and dogs to threaten them, forcing them to agree to let Camila Ruiz spend summer here with him.
Since the rule has been bent, why not bend it further?
Besides, Florence, being Elder Anlu’s daughter, would eventually join the Flame Gate, so bringing her to the base wasn’t a security risk.
Faced with two girls, he was curious to see how the young master would decide.
Iceberg No. 2 remained silent, but internally he mused: the boss isn’t deliberately placing a third person between the young master and the young girl, is he?
Yet he dared not speak out lest Kay Kennal cast a frigid glare his way, freezing him into an actual iceberg.
Unaware of Kay Kennal’s plans, Jimmy Horne took Camila Ruiz to a shallow water bay. The water there was only knee-deep but full of small fish, making it easy to catch.
Jimmy Horne had multiple methods for fishing: using a net for freshness, a spear casually, or catching with hands when wanting to play in the water.
Endowed with agility and sharp eyesight from training, once a fish caught his eye, escape was futile.
Camila Ruiz, in her long skirt, didn’t wade into the water, instead standing on a small rock nearby, observing the fish and pointing out, "That one looks nice," whenever she picked one.
A bucket beside her had been fetched from the house by Jimmy Horne during a spare moment.
