Chapter 566: Chapter 566 Jealousy is a Joke (1)_1

With a cheerful heart, Adele Horne descended the stairs. Glades Horne had instructed Uncle Ying that her and Julia’s breakfast must start between seven and eight every morning. For over a week now, she had been punctually coming downstairs for breakfast at seven-thirty and had developed this good habit.

Another week went by. Her baby was now over three months old, and occasionally she could feel the baby move. Although it wasn’t very obvious yet, she could at least feel it. When she felt the baby’s movements, she found it particularly novel and curious, and her mood immediately changed. Moreover, the baby finally seemed to take pity on her, its expectant mother, and stopped causing trouble. Her morning sickness had finally ended, and she could eat without vomiting now. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

She sighed deeply with relief, and Julia was also happy for her.

Thinking of her sister-in-law, Julia, the smile on Adele’s face grew wider. Julia always treated the baby in Adele’s womb as her own. For an unmarried woman pregnant before marriage, her family still treated her so well, and her sisters-in-law didn’t drive her away—something Adele considered very rare.

Only now did she realize that she, as the younger sister in the family, should never let her relationship with her sisters-in-law become too strained. After all, once she married and returned to her natal home, her sisters-in-law might one day be the only ones there to receive her. Parents would age and eventually pass away. If her relationship with her sisters-in-law was tense, then after her parents were gone, the path to her natal home could effectively be cut off.

For a married woman, the connection to her natal home is very important, and few women would wish to sever that tie.

From the bottom of her heart, Adele was grateful to the heavens and thankful for Julia’s magnanimity. In the past, she had troubled Julia in every possible way, always angered her, and even conspired with Orlando Evans to split Julia and her elder brother, Glades. Yet Julia still cared for her so much, helping her mature in her thinking and spirit. She had learned to care for others and to see things from their perspective.

My past twenty-two years seem like a confused and dim dream.

Only now is every day truly fulfilling.

Her mother’s beauty salon had now started renovations; it was only when they began that she learned her mother was actually going to open one. Her mother, who had been a pampered wife at home for decades, had only ever spent the money earned by her father and elder brothers. She was almost useless compared to the capable women of the world, Adele thought. Yet now, at nearly sixty, her mother had finally started thinking about earning money independently—she’d had an awakening, which was Adele’s first reaction.

Only later did she find out it was all thanks to Julia.

Julia was helping her mother step out of her boring life.

"Baby, let’s go have breakfast," Adele murmured with a light smile, caressing her slightly bulging belly.

Elder Brother is back!

Adele’s face flushed slightly. She wanted to turn back upstairs, but retreating would require more steps than continuing down. So, she decided to tread lightly downstairs, pretending she hadn’t noticed anything.

What kind of man was Glades Horne? His ears were as sharp as a rabbit’s; even though she moved quietly, he still heard her.

"TEEHEE... Bro, you’re back! Um, I didn’t see anything. Please continue, please continue, HAHA..." Adele laughed. Having been discovered, she no longer had to tiptoe and quickly headed downstairs.

She heard Julia’s chiding voice from behind her, "Look at you, how embarrassing."

"You’re my wife. It’s only right that I kiss my wife. Who says it’s embarrassing?" Glades Horne’s deep voice followed.

Her elder brother, always so assertive! Adele chuckled to herself.

Soon, Glades and Julia came downstairs. When they saw Adele, Julia’s face was still a little red, while Glades Horne shot Adele a stern glare.

Flynn Walker emerged from his car holding a bouquet of dazzlingly bright red roses. He carried the roses to the door of the Horne family’s villa, then straightened up, holding the flowers with one hand while adjusting his gray suit with the other. Making sure he was impeccably dressed, he rang the doorbell.

Even though Adele had clearly rejected him last time, he had decided to try his best to pursue her, thinking that perseverance might melt a heart of stone.

So he sought advice from his students. He was a university professor, and his students, all undergraduates, were mostly dating. They told him that to win over the girl he liked, the first rule was to be thick-skinned.

This advice led to his actions today.

Hearing the doorbell, Rainbow, who was cleaning the courtyard, went to the door. Seeing Flynn Walker’s handsome, gentle face, his glasses, and the strong scholarly aura about him, she thought he was a scholar. "Sir, may I ask who you’re looking for?" she inquired politely from behind the door. Holding a bouquet of bright red roses, a symbol of love, he must be here for one of the ladies. There are quite a few women in this villa, but they’re all spoken for, except for Miss Adele.

"Hello, I’m looking for Miss Adele Horne," Flynn Walker answered gently through the door.

Miss Adele’s friend?

Rainbow’s eyes immediately sharpened. Through the latticed gate, she scrutinized Flynn Walker from head to toe and back again. Her gaze was so detailed it made him uncomfortable. But the Horne family is prestigious, he thought. This villa alone was astonishingly large. Golden Kirin Garden was situated on the most expensive land in the city, and the Horne family’s villa was the largest among its many residences, a clear testament to their wealth. He maintained his warm, spring-like smile and held his pose as Rainbow inspected him, though his face began to feel a little hot.

"Do you know our Miss Adele? Why have I never seen you before?" Rainbow questioned him.

Given Miss Adele’s delicate situation, Rainbow felt she had to be thorough in her inquiry.

"I have had the pleasure of meeting Miss Horne a few times. I’ve been here before, but you didn’t see me last time," Flynn Walker hurried to explain.
