Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 505 Stomachache (1)_1
Golden Kirin Garden
Ruby Bluen pushed Marcel Horne along the road in front of the Horne Family villa, taking a stroll.
Since his injury, Marcel usually stayed cooped up in the villa, except for the day they married when he went out. It wasn't that he couldn't go out, but that he didn't want to. He always felt that everyone he encountered outside would give him looks of sympathy.
He didn't like others looking at him with pity.
He didn't need sympathy.
He didn't blame or hate anyone for his current condition. Instead, he was filled with pride, because he had been injured while saving someone.
The child he had saved also visited him often; the young boy and the older man, separated by more than two decades, had actually formed a friendship because of this.
"Marcel, it's really beautiful here," Ruby said, pushing Marcel's wheelchair while gazing at the scenery along the road. "We always rush past without paying attention. Only now do I realize how beautiful and peaceful it is."
All kinds of evergreen trees and various flowers were planted alongside the road. Although they weren't blooming yet, the scent of spring already enveloped everything. After the cold winter, the plants were quietly changing, preparing to welcome the arrival of spring.
High in the sky, warm sunlight poured down. Many tall trees by the roadside blocked much of it, but the light filtering through the layers of leaves still brought warmth as it dappled the ground.
A light breeze blew, not cold at all but rather refreshing.
Ruby wore only two layers of clothing; her yellow jacket wasn't thick. In such pleasant weather, wearing too much would feel burdensome and even hot.
Marcel was dressed in a light blue shirt, paired with a black vest and black trousers. His hair was neatly combed, and his face, once darkened by sun and wind, had become fair. If not for the lingering chill in his demeanor, everyone would have mistaken him for an approachable person. His current attire concealed his military bearing, restoring his appearance to that of a wealthy young master.
Ruby's slender, fair hands rested on the back of the wheelchair, propelling it forward at a leisurely pace that matched her steps. She had brought Marcel out to help him relax and breathe some fresh air.
On the long, winding road, pedestrians could occasionally be seen, but more often, vehicles whizzed past, as if unwilling to disturb even a cloud or a wisp of wind.
"This is the most high-end residential area in T City; it certainly has its charms," Marcel gently affirmed his wife's sentiment.
Usually, the pace of life was too fast. Everyone hurried by, and few people recognized the beauty here; even fewer had taken the time to deeply appreciate the quiet. But when you stopped rushing, you would find that the beauty you had been chasing everywhere was actually right by your side.
"Let's come out for walks more often in the future, okay?"
Marcel pursed his lips and smiled lightly, replying, "Okay."
"Young Master Marcel, and Young Madam Ruby, you're out for a walk."
From a small path beside a villa down the road, an elderly couple in their sixties emerged. Seeing Ruby and Marcel, they smiled and greeted them. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"Uncle Jian, Aunt Jian."
The young couple also smiled and greeted the two elders.
The four of them stopped to exchange a few casual words before going their separate ways.
The elderly couple walked shoulder to shoulder, murmuring to each other, the old woman's laughter occasionally drifting over.
Watching the elderly couple, Ruby said to Marcel, "A young couple becomes old companions—that's the true essence of marriage. Just look at Uncle Jian and Aunt Jian; they're a perfect example."
Marcel reached behind him and covered Ruby's hand with his own, conveying his affection. "We too will be companions in old age. No matter when, no matter how old we become, we'll always be together, supporting and cherishing one another."
Ruby smiled gently.
In the past few days, Marcel had been trying to stand up. Although his legs pained him when he did, and he couldn't stand for more than two minutes, the fact that he was attempting it made Ruby very happy. Her care for him subsequently became even more meticulous.
She hoped he could create a miracle and stand on his own again within half a year, to stand before her once more as the indomitable man she envisioned, a pillar of strength who would forever shelter her beneath the blue sky, in a world where there was only him and her.
Deep affection, tender emotions, soft as silk entwining her heart.
When Julia Bluen was driving back with Mila Anderson, she saw her sister and Marcel from afar. Julia immediately slowed down the car and stopped in front of them.
"Sis."
Julia opened the car door, stepped out, and quickly walked up to the two, greeting her sister with a smile.
"Brother Marcel."
Julia then greeted Marcel.
Julia was both Marcel's wife's younger sister and his elder brother Glades's wife, which put Marcel in a slightly awkward position regarding how to address her. Glades naturally preferred Marcel to call her 'Elder Sister-in-law.' However, Julia didn't want to make things difficult for Marcel, so she requested that their way of addressing each other remain unchanged from before their marriages.
So, Marcel continued to call her by her name, and she still called Marcel "Brother."
"Julia, you're back." Ruby smiled warmly as she greeted her sister. Whenever she saw the happiness radiating from her sister's pretty, oval-shaped face, she felt envious. But now, she didn't need to envy her sister anymore, because she, too, was very happy.
Mila Anderson also got out of the car and walked up to her nephew and his wife. First, she looked at Marcel's legs, then at his expression. Seeing that his complexion was good, she said, "Marcel, the weather is quite pleasant now. You really should come out more often, get some fresh air. It's good for your health. However, next time, ask Sister Hong to come. It's too tiring for Ruby to push the wheelchair alone all the time."
"Yes, I will," Marcel smiled, then asked, "Aunt Mila, you seemed to be in quite a hurry when you left earlier. Is everything alright now? How did you end up coming back with Julia?"
Adele Horne's BMW drove up just then.
She also stopped her car but didn't get out. Instead, she rolled down the window and called out to Marcel, "Second Brother, you seem to be in a good mood! Adele won't disturb you and Second Sister-in-law enjoying your romantic time. Bye!"
With that, she drove off toward the Horne Family villa.
