Pride Online-Chapter 10: The First Adventure in a Battlefield Part III
Chapter 10: The First Adventure in a Battlefield Part III
“Come get me, doggo. In front of the same-sized, I have no fears!” The animal abuser became too conceited. He tried to stir up its anger with this annoying smirk and beckoned his finger.
Now that he really got on its nerves, the doggo accepted the challenge by leaping at the invader. And before its teeth could get to his throat, Wisana used his agility to evade it just in time. He saw the Brown hown lost control, so he got the chance to smash it right on the middle of the head, sending the dog yelping in pain.
“Player Wisana earned 50 exp from killing Brown hown.”
“That was easier than I thought. It took only two hits to kill.”
The man smiled widely, as he watched the brown wild dog slowly turning into dust. What was left of it were a tuft of brown dog hair and a little bottle of red HP potion. When he was about to pick these items up, Maysa's voice rang.
“Don’t worry about it, Wisana. I’ll pick the items up for you. You just keep hitting.” She said as she blended down to collect the said items, keeping them in her inventory, quickly. (Items could be picked up by other players right away if they were in the same party. But players from other parties had to wait at least three minutes, before they could take the items.)
“Oh, Thanks a lot, May. I’ll go ahead then, starting to get into it now.”
“Sure, bro. Good luck, have fun.” When she looked up, the guy was already out of her sight, leaving Maysa giggling there alone.
“How old is he again?”
After that, Wisana had become an animal control officer by taking down every brown dog that showed up in his sight. This guy kept kicking and punching nonstop. The items were dropped everywhere on the grassland, and a role model citizen like Maysa collected them quietly with patience.
About thirteen Brown howns were frantically eliminated by Wisana. But what made Maysa surprised was the fact that he wasn’t even once attacked by those monsters. It was the fact that brought up a smile on her face.
It was proven that Wisana had such a brilliant reflex.
Not only was his agility obvious, but so were his excellent combat skills!
“Player Wisana has leveled up to Level 6.”
The system announced his new level, as he knocked down the fourteenth Brown hown.
“May, they are all gone here. Let’s go check out over there for more.” The hoarse voice rushed the friend who was busy collecting the items on the ground.
“You can go ahead. I'll catch up with you later. I can find you on the map, we won’t get lost.”
“Oh, is that so?” Wisana nodded. “Then, see you later.”
“Yeah, okay.”
Then he excused himself and ran off again, leaving the girl to smile amusingly. In fact, Maysa was relieved that he seemed to enjoy her company because if he did not, it would be difficult for them to be in the same team in the future.
At the same time, Wisana was annihilating those puppies enthusiastically. The pair of brown eyes were searching for the targets joyfully, but after scanning the area for a while and finding that there were no targets anymore, he started complaining.
“What the hell? Why are they so slow to respawn? I only got a few of them here.”
Then at the corner of his eyes, he saw a group of this doggie in the distance and judging by the size of the group, there could be approximately ten... no, almost twenty Brown howns standing over there. A satisfied smirk appeared on Wisana’s face.
"It's good that they are together like this, so I don't have to waste time searching for them." After he finished saying that, the young man dashed towards the first Brown hown, who was blissfully urinating at a tree. Despite that, the man did not hesitate to stomp his foot on the round dog's fat belly with all his strength.
180!
The damage point popped up at the same time when the monster turned to dust and began to disappear.
“Whoa… after my level increased, the attack power is much stronger now. Easy-peasy.” Wisana used a finger to wipe his nose. “Come at me, babies. I’m gonna kick your ass one by one.”
His mouth just kept talking though, because he never read the surroundings. And when he actually did, he paused.
Nearly twenty Brown howns that remained stared at Wisana with their feral eyes. They also snarled in a threatening manner, and that made the person who stood in front of them feel like he had a bitter taste in his mouth. It took him a while to get himself together before he bared his teeth to threaten them back and said in an annoying voice.
“What’s up with you guys? I didn’t attack you yet, but you’re now snarling at me?”
WHOOSH!
“Hey! That was too close!” Wisana shouted when a brown wild dog leaped at him, even though he hadn't started to attack it yet.
“What the heck? So, you can attack players first?” Before he could finish complaining, a pack of Brown howns started snarling at him with even more feral eyes.
The situation got so bad that the cocky man began to sweat.
“W...well, I think I'm screwed.”
-----------------
Maysa was whistling, delighted as she collected Wisana’s items along the way. It had been quite a while since she had enjoyed herself playing a game like this. The last time she joined a game party with someone was years ago. And she felt it was kind of strange that having Wisana as a party, things started to be fun again.
The girl thought before her eyes caught a bright purple crystal on the ground in front of her. It brought a sweet joyful smile to the pretty face.
“A rank C gem crystal?” she held the crystal to look up closely. “This guy really comes with good luck. He just started, but already earned many coins. And he will get another 15,000s by selling this crystal, too. Seems like I'll get lucky, too, if I keep sticking with him.”
“May!!!” Speaking of the lucky man, and there he came, screaming, running toward her.
“What’s up?” She asked with a smile. Then her smile started to fade away when she saw a panicked look on his face.
“...n!”
“What?”
“Ru...!”
“What’d you say?”
“Run now! Not allowed looking back!!”
The rhyme got Maysa’s eyebrows raised in confusion. She was about to ask, but the answer was already right in front of her eyes.
“Oh, no. What the heck?” Her whisper sounded weak and stuttering.
A group of about a hundred Brown howns was chasing Wisana and they were all coming in her direction. She had no choice but to start running as her party said.
That fool. Did he just pull the monsters from the whole jungle?!
“What is happening?!” Maysa shouted out a question as Wisana was catching up with her.
“I don’t know! Suddenly, they just ganged up on me just like that!”
“Oh, no. You didn’t kill a Brown hown in front of the others, did you?”
“Yeah, I did. I killed one in front of its whole pack. Why? They’re like some gangsters that have to take revenge for their gang members?”
“You're crazy!” She snapped. “They’re the type that will attack you if they see you attacking their friend. Damn it. How did I forget to warn you something so important?!”
She said as the bright grey eyes looked back at them, approximating them to be around 130 that she had no idea how he could pull this many. She was just out here to have a chilling time with her party, never to be chased by a hundred feral dogs like this!
Maysa took her eyes off them to look straight forward again, so her eyes caught with some new players’ there. She stopped running instantaneously.
“May, keep running, or we’re gonna die!”
Wisana yelled as he slowed down his pace and stopped, too.
“No, we can’t run any further, or the players there will get screwed, too.” Her sweet voice snapped back at him. She was pointing at those players who paused what they were doing and looked at them curiously.
“And you’re gonna fight them? That's a whole army, Maysa. We wouldn’t survive, even though you’re on level 28.”
“It’s still better than getting hated by the others for pulling this army to screw them, too!”
Damn girl! She was so responsible for society. Then, it got very awkward for the cause of all this like him to just run off.
“So, we fight?” Wisana repeated.
“Yeah.” She answered firmly before she drew 2 pistols from her waist, holding one in each hand.
“We’re so screwed.” When it came to this, he had no choice but to get his guard up in a ready-to-fight position, too.
He was not the type of guy who would let a girl fight alone anyway.
However, the situation looked so hard to get through. Wisana gulped down his sticky saliva as the large group of brown wild dogs rushed toward them, making the ground quake beneath their feet. This kind of reminded him of a scene in war movies where troops of soldiers were running to kill each other's.
“Wisana, try to avoid the attack, or else, with levels like yours, you’ll get sent back to respawn. Oh, and another thing, even though this’s just a virtual game, it still simulates a slight numbness and stingy pain when you get hit. However, if you get attacked by over a hundred dogs, I don’t need to tell you how much stingier it will become, right?”
“You’re very helping, May,” Wisana replied, sarcastically.
“And who’s the one that started this trouble?!” She scolded him but still gave him a soft smile.
“I told you I might screw things up. Being around me is a recipe for disaster.”
“Why? Isn’t it fun? It's not like I’ll have a hundred Brown howns chasing after me on my solo daily basis.” Her words made Wisana turn to her and meet with bright round eyes. She was smiling so lively as usual, then Wisana smiled, too, even though it was hard to believe that he could smile in such a situation.
“Are you ready, bro?”
“Hell yeah. Let’s go!”
