Chapter 259: Political Analyst.

The trip itself began with no problem, after hopping in the convoy they went toward the FlyHigh, though there was a moment where the atmosphere was cold. Nobody spoke, nobody even tried to say anything and of course when everybody knew the weight of this all.

It could be the funniest bust down in the history of humanity, like straight up it would be the dumbest one, that a drug lord just flew into Maraci with a private plane, a fake ID and then got arrested and executed.

Though there was one thing that protected them but only acutely James thought about it, because he remembered the talk about Maraci. They only fuck you up if you start dealing, if you start building up a crime web, but until then they don’t do shit about you, though the problem in this was that James himself had the fake ID and diplomatic passport, and even a government official appointment.

"I can’t wait to land in Maraci, I heard that it is the best and safest and cleanest country." Arine spoke... yeah he was the only one in the car who was actually excited by this whole trip for the wrong reasons. "Like I heard too that there are deserts, like camels, and people snowboarding on the sand dunes... I kinda want to try it."

"That’s called sandboarding you idiot." Mike said and everybody chuckled up in the car, even James himself breaking that cold silence between them.

"Sandboarding?" He asked as he looked at the mirror. "Well then that, but the oasis could be good to see too, like the middle of the desert, a grassland and a luxury hotel... they really are a tourist paradise."

"Yeah and on the other hand they’re executing everyone." Mike said. "To be true they’re doing it well, they’re booming because of it."

"Almost like a perfect country." James spoke. "Though there is something strange about it... they suddenly became rich over four years... it just can’t be happening this fast after they were infested with cartels and even militias for years."

"Actually." Arine spoke again. "I read about Maraci and they are... how should I say it, enclosed?"

"What do you mean by that?" Joseph asked as it interested him, because at least one of them actually read about Maraci.

"Uhh, well there aren’t elections there, like... the government that took power four years ago basically has infinite power and a lot of time in office. There aren’t any elections." He explained as he pulled out his phone, clearly prepared for this, opening his notes app. "So yeah, when they took power they..." He glanced at his notes. "They took power and completely fucked up everyone with the military. And when it was over, they proposed their solution to make sure nothing like that would ever happen again. But they also implied that if people voted for it, they’d remain in power for ten straight years, so they could actually fix things."

Now this was something that made a lot of sense to James and, well, probably helped everyone understand the situation in Maraci a bit better, at least politically.

"So the people voted for the new law, and with it, they basically turned them into dictators?" Mike asked.

"Yeah... but the thing is, people wanted it." Arine continued, scrolling further down his notes. "Like, they were actually happy about it. After the chaos, they just wanted someone strong to take control, and... it worked. The country’s rich now, a total tourist paradise. They’ve built everything up so fast, luxury resorts, massive infrastructure, a clean, safe image."

"So... no one cares about losing their freedoms?" Mike asked as he looked at Arine, though James spoke first.

"Why would they? Life is good. People are making money, there’s no crime on the streets, and tourists pour in by the millions. The government gave them security and wealth, and most people are fine with the trade."

"Sounds like they sold their souls for comfort." Mike said. "Though I would do the same, the only problem is we are the criminals." He chuckled up.

"This is what our government wants to do, copy what Maraci did, with the only twist that we are part of it, though the only problem with this is that we are in the Union and Maraci is not and that is also strange." James said as he looked at the mirror. "How can they use the Union currency, the dollar, if they aren’t in?"

"Ohh I thought about that too, and the answer to it is the trade deals with the Union."Arine said as looked at his notes. "Maraci is rich in everything, fucking jackpot lying beneath them, so the Union agreed on that they can use the dollar and Maraci would give them discounted prices on the oil, and every other resource, even the imports and exports." Arine explained. "Basically after the shitpile they were in they needed a stable currency and made the deal, without joining the Union they brought in the dollar as the lifeline and it worked out."

"You became a political analyst or what, Arine?" Mike laughed up because he never even saw him working this much, or actually saying smart things. "Though do these facts even help us with something?" He turned to James who seemed to be thinking about something, and well, Arine actually helped him with a lot of things.

The mystery about Maraci, its structure and its zero tolerance for crime, was like a puzzle that was almost impossible to solve. After years of despair and literally being a terrorist country, they cleared everything up by bombing, executing, and literally wiping out everybody who was in any crime empire, terror group or militia.

They killed everybody and took power, and with that power they promised the people something that was impossible to do.

And they fucking did it. But how the fuck?

A country like that would be in ruins... infrastructure and the economy collapsed, no trade for years, no diplomatic relationship, no nothing, there were just constant threats and wars... and four fucking years later it become a booming country, a rebuilt system and an economy that is making billions.

It is impossible to do it within four years if there isn’t something shady about it... and there’s got to be something shady... or truly Maraci, its politicians and residents are just the perfect human beings that ever existed, building up from nothing to be the best ones... yeah something that’s just impossible.

And it excited James’ thoughts, because what he said to Hector that Maraci might be a business opportunity, though the first thing is to meet with his family and not to make business ventures and possibly die in the process.

"We are here." Arine spoke as they rolled straight into the airstrip where a beautiful white and quite a big private jet was waiting for them. "I’ve never been on a private plane." He continued as he got out of the car and just looked at the plane and at the smiling flight attendants who were just standing and waiting for them.

"Me neither." James spoke while Mike opened up the trunk of the car, and there was only one single suitcase and one tote bag... and that’s it.

Literally nobody brought anything with them, only the cash and the tote bag which had the laptop and some necessary things in them, though of course they didn’t even have time to go home and pack up clothes.

"Isn’t it a little... obviously? 12 people only have a suitcase and a tote bag?" Mike looked up as he grabbed it. "And well half of them are in suits while the other half in casual clothes?"

"Yeah it is, but that’s what we got, so let’s go Mike." James said and with it he walked toward the flight attendants with everybody after him and they boarded the plane where some surprise awaited them.

A big surprise that was just unbelievable.
