Chapter 36: Chapter 34: What Blood Moon? It’s All Special Effects

"We welcome The Exalted One, Madam, and the Young Master."

On the ship, all the disciples of the Bloodfiend Den bowed and knelt in unison, their hands over their chests. As far as the eye could see, there were figures clad in black clothes and cloaks.

Javier Sinclair raised his hand in acknowledgment.

"Return to the Demon Palace."

"Yes..."

The ship, adorned with skulls, flew slowly through the clouds, heading toward the Eosian region.

Celeste Grant glanced out. "Isn’t this the way to the Bloodfiend Den?"

She remembered the route to the place they went last time, and this wasn’t it.

Nerida walked over and explained, "Madam, the place you visited last time was merely a branch of our Bloodfiend Den in that area. We were just passing through when we encountered you. The main headquarters of the Bloodfiend Den is in Bloodfiend City, in the Eosian region."

’Bloodfiend City?’

’Just the name sounds like it’s full of bloody slaughter.’

’Alright, I was thinking too small. So the place I went to last time was just a branch office, and the corporate headquarters is in Bloodfiend City.’

That was the domain of The Blood-Venerate, Javier Sinclair.

Celeste Grant and the others flew on the ship for a full day, finally reaching the territory of The Demonic Sects by nightfall.

The world contained both Spiritual Energy and various kinds of impure energy. Orthodox Cultivation involved absorbing Spiritual Energy, while Demon Cultivators absorbed the world’s negative emotions and impure energy for their own Cultivation.

So, without Demon Cultivators, how would the world’s impure energy be cleared away? What would happen if the impure energy grew so dense that it consumed the Spiritual Energy? This was a form of balance, two sides complementing each other.

It was a law of the universe. This was why the Cultivation methods of Demon Cultivators were also acknowledged by the Heavenly Dao.

As the ship began its slow descent, Celeste Grant leaned against the railing to look down below.

Bloodfiend City stretched out as far as the eye could see, its lights shining brightly.

Their ship flew over Bloodfiend City toward its very center, where the silhouette of the Bloodfiend Den finally came into view.

The place where The Archfiend lived... At night, a blood-red moon hung in the sky, and a grim, gloomy aura shrouded the surrounding land.

"Why is there a blood moon hanging in the sky here?"

’It’s really got the vibe of a supervillain’s lair.’

Javier Sinclair glanced at her.

"This area is protected by a Barrier. The blood moon and the scenery are just illusions, not real."

"You can do that?"

Celeste Grant’s mouth twitched. She couldn’t help but say, "So it’s just special effects."

’It reminded me of all those Cultivation and fantasy dramas I used to watch. If they ever decided to film a show, they wouldn’t even need to spend money on a CGI budget. They could just create the effects themselves.’

An idea suddenly sparked in Celeste Grant’s mind.

’This is The Cultivation World. People’s lives here are dull and boring. What are they missing? Entertainment! And as for that, I may not have made a movie, but I’ve certainly seen enough of them.’

’HAHAHA! I can already see countless Spirit Stones growing wings and flying right into my pockets.’

’Now that I’ve had the baby and even started Cultivation, it’s time to earn myself some Cultivation Resources.’

Thinking of this, she looked at the territory of The Demonic Sects before her. ’Maybe this will be the starting point for my conquest of The Cultivation World. Time to get to it!’

’From a visual standpoint, though, The Demonic Sects’ special effects are really maxed out.’

"You Demon Cultivators really have a... unique sense of aesthetics."

’For instance, they think skulls look good. And they like all sorts of strange, terrifying things.’

The ship slowly descended, getting closer and closer to the Bloodfiend Den below, until it stopped, hovering seven or eight meters above the ground.

Celeste Grant looked down.

This place was several times larger than the Bloodfiend Den branch she had seen before. Even from a great distance, she could see black and red flags fluttering in the wind.

The entire Bloodfiend Den was decorated with lanterns and streamers, looking quite festive.

"We’re here." As he spoke, Javier Sinclair reached out, wrapped an arm around her, and leaped down.

"Slow down!"

Celeste Grant’s feet touched the ground.

In the square before the Demon Palace, countless people were kneeling in welcome.

"We welcome The Exalted One, Madam, and the Young Master back to the palace."

As their voices faded, the sky before them exploded with countless brilliant fireworks.

Perhaps fearing the noise would startle the child, Javier Sinclair, who was standing to the side, swept his hand over the baby in Celeste Grant’s arms. He placed a protective barrier around him, shielding the child from the outside sounds. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Those weren’t real fireworks, but explosions created by various kinds of Magic. In addition, a large banner had been hung above the square outside the Bloodfiend Den’s main hall.

Celeste Grant looked up.

There were words written on it: ’Congratulations to the Young Master on his one-month celebration. May the Young Master live for ten thousand ages and unite The Cultivation World.’

"Wow... your people are... really something else."

’So cringey and unhinged.’

’But there’s no denying they definitely put their hearts into it.’

Javier Sinclair stepped forward, his gaze sweeping over the crowd. "Today is my son’s one-month celebration. Every disciple of the Bloodfiend Den may go and receive a reward."

Hearing this, the faces of the crowd lit up with excitement.

"Our thanks to The Exalted One! Our thanks to Madam!"

Seeing this, Celeste Grant moved closer to Javier Sinclair and whispered, "Exalted One, aren’t you going to explain? These people keep calling me ’Madam.’ We’re not married, nor are we Taoist Companions. Aren’t you worried that suddenly having a family will make it harder for you to find a Taoist Companion in the future?"

Celeste Grant was genuinely concerned for him.

’After all, this awkward situation and the fact that we have a son was all my fault. He’s a victim in this too. The Archfiend has been saddled with fatherhood. It must be so hard on him.’

Glancing at the woman who had sidled up to him, Javier Sinclair reached out and took their son from her arms.

"You expect me to explain such a trivial matter? Do I have no reputation to uphold? Do I look like I have that much free time?"

’Wait, did I say the wrong thing again?’ Celeste Grant looked at him.

’The Archfiend is like a powder keg, ready to explode at the slightest spark.’

Before she could say another word, Javier Sinclair sneered.

"Besides..."

He sized her up and continued, "Or are you saying that being my madam is some great injustice to you? Is that why you’re in such a hurry to distance yourself from me? Rest assured, I have no interest in a flighty moth like you."

"My son cannot be an illegitimate child and be subjected to gossip."

Hearing this, Celeste Grant paused, then nodded repeatedly, a look of understanding on her face. She completely agreed with what he said.

She looked at him and said, "You’re right, Exalted One. Thank you for being so considerate of Annie. Don’t worry, my son and I definitely won’t get in the way of you finding a Taoist Companion. Once Annie is a little older, we can just say that we didn’t get along and separated."

’The boy’s biological father is being so considerate. It’s clear he values this child a great deal.’

For that, Celeste Grant was truly grateful to him.

Javier Sinclair said nothing.

’He felt a tightness in his chest, a breath caught in his throat that he could neither exhale nor swallow. It was utterly infuriating.’

’She won’t get in the way of him finding a Taoist Companion.’

’Once their son is a little older, they’ll separate.’

’Does this woman have any idea what she’s saying? What does she take this place for? Does she think she can just come and go as she pleases?’

’He wasn’t even dead yet, and she was already so eager to take his son and find a new man.’

’He couldn’t afford to lose that much face. She could forget about it.’
