Playing With Other Supernaturals-Chapter 1385 Debut part 3
Chapter 1385 - 1385 Debut part 3
Furoufushi, Batsu'unsai, and Renji were pushed back by the expanding barrier, along with Ichigo, who had used the previous attack as cover.
Despite being thrown off, their objective was a success—rescuing the man Shiva had been holding. "Will he be alright?" Ichigo asked with concern, noticing Indra's neck twisted at an unnatural angle.
Catching her breath, Furoufushi, who had seen Riveria attending to Indra, responded, "Probably... These guys can be restored as long as they're still alive."
"No wonder Captain Kurotsuchi is so fascinated by this world," Renji commented, "With healing tech like that, you could save almost anyone who hasn't been completely obliterated."
In their world, medical technology had advanced under Mayuri's guidance, but battlefield medicine remained rudimentary. Soldiers still often died unless they received advanced medical treatment in time.
Here, Renji thought the situation was similar, but what he didn't realize was that it varied across different factions. While the care Indra was receiving from Riveria was rare, teams of skilled healers were not uncommon among the larger powers. As long as a sliver of brain activity remained, people could often be saved.
Soifon joined her fellow Shinigami, issuing a warning, "Be ready. We're his primary targets now."
Shiva's body had been heavily damaged, and his flesh from the neck down was removed, revealing a fully mechanical frame. It was clear that Shiva had undergone a significant procedure to attach his head to this new form.
Yoruichi sneered, her suspicions confirmed, "So that's why you sided with the Evies. You threw away your godhood for this? I thought you had more pride than that, Shiva."
The sight angered Wukong and the other deities on their side. Even those unfamiliar with Rudra's personal motivations were fuming.
"Rudra... Why?" one of the gods asked, disbelief clear in their voice.
For many factions, upgrading one's body to push past natural limits was acceptable, even admirable. But for the deities of Hindu mythology and the followers of Buddhism, it was a grave transgression.
To achieve godhood or enlightenment, one had to undergo countless trials, refining both body and soul to attain true divinity. Their divinity wasn't just power—it was the culmination of their life's meaning. Discarding the body meant casting aside that meaning. To them, Shiva's actions were a desecration of everything they stood for.
But Shiva remained calm, his expression unreadable as he spoke, "You don't understand. My flesh was a prison. I am a god of destruction, and yet the first thing my power destroyed was my own body. How could I fulfill my purpose when I was so fragile? My godhood lost meaning long ago, but now... now I've regained it."
Wukong and the others could understand Shiva's frustration. As one of the strongest, Shiva was often compared to a glass cannon, powerful but self-destructive. Still, they couldn't accept his choice. To them, he had taken the easy way out because he couldn't advance through enlightenment.
Yoruichi, however, was focused on something else entirely. Shiva's betrayal had nearly cost Koneko her life. Though she wanted revenge, she knew they had to be pragmatic. Even if they managed to win against Shiva, the cost would be high. Her first priority was the safety of her group.
'According to Seraselbes, the quality of the Evie Generator he was given shows how much Regalzeva invested in him... and it's clear they spared no expense,' Yoruichi thought, her eyes narrowing.
The core shining within Shiva's chest was proof. It was comparable to those used by Regalzeva's direct underlings—an unlimited source of magic power.
'No wonder his flames are that strong,' she mused. She didn't know how Shiva's body could withstand such potent energy, but it wasn't her priority at the moment. 'It would be much easier if we could contact Seraselbes directly.'

Shiva's gaze fell back on Yoruichi, and she felt a brief flicker of unease. 'Did he sense my thoughts?' she wondered.
But a moment later, Yoruichi exhaled in relief. Although Shiva was eyeing her suspiciously, he didn't seem certain of what triggered his instincts.
"You," he growled, "What are you hiding?"
Yoruichi scoffed. "You must be insane if you think I'd answer that."
As she spoke, she felt a faint fluctuation from the snake Ophis had lent her for a specific purpose. A sly grin spread across her face. 'I've thought of a fate worse than death for you, Shiva... and it's going to work out in our favor.'
Shiva's wariness grew, but before he could react, a voice interrupted from behind, "Magnificent. I believe you and I will get along quite well."
Shiva's eyes widened in alarm as his flames flared, lashing out in the direction of the voice. But when he turned, he realized he had incinerated the corpse of one of his own allies.
"...Huh?" Shiva muttered, confusion overtaking him. Something was wrong with his senses.
"Hmm... Is that how you greet potential friends? I can't say I approve," the voice taunted again. Shiva slowly turned, this time laying eyes on a man with brown, swept-back hair and an unsettlingly calm demeanor.
"...Who are you?" Shiva demanded.
The man smiled politely. "Oh, where are my manners? I'm Sōsuke Aizen, someone who fully understands your plight."
