Chapter 639: Chapter 555: Escape

The strength of the Alpha Python is beyond question,

in the previous [Zero Restart] mission, if it weren’t for the Eternal Life Field carried by the Green Train, if it weren’t for the protection offered by the Land of Beautiful Dreams, if it weren’t for the myriad arrangements made by [Heavenly Enemy] as a top-level expert thousands of years ago,

no matter how many lives the players from both Main Universes had, it wouldn’t suffice against Alpha’s candy crush.

In fact, as a participant in the mission, Reyes, who hails from the Mexico Jalisco New Generation Crime Group, was quite proud of surviving Alpha’s attacks,

though he did not upload the first-person strategy video, which might have revealed the existence of Otherworld players, to the web by the instruction of the Shabby Street Community Committee,

he nonetheless kept a backup of the video privately and added a director’s commentary audio track, savoring it repeatedly. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

"Otherworld players led by the Mushroom King? Fifty-fifty, I also often solo kill him."

"Alpha is overly mythologized, not as fierce as said, killing us hundreds of times under the Eternal Life Field was just luck. If we die a few thousand more times, we are sure to exhaust him to death."

Even when Alpha, successfully recorded by the Heat Death Corridor, was reduced to just a snake head, it was still far beyond the touch of Transcendents at this level.

After a breath attack, Li Cheng’s Spiritual Power was exhausted, and the Phase Change Demon vanished.

However, the system notification for the end of the death battle did not sound.

Li Cheng looked around, the color of his pupils hidden beneath the mask flickering red and green, contracting and expanding at high frequency as cone and rod cells repeatedly adjusted, altering the detected spectrum range.

Found it.

In the extreme distance, tiny black particles, barely visible to the naked eye, gathered into a whole, turning to strands of smoke, attempting to drift into the bubble symbolizing network equipment.

Taking the human race as an example, Killing Field Players face a small hurdle at Level 5, and a major one at Level 10.

Level 5 signifies initial mastery of Extraordinary Power, able to spar slightly with the basic armed forces of modern society, such as the police and militia, and with luck escape from special forces ones without full-starred status.

Level 10 indicates no longer being a rookie, with deeper understanding of Extraordinary Power. They can face off with quasi-military forces, including but not limited to special police, mercenaries, PMKC private military security companies. But against a modern, informationized military’s land, sea, and air siege, defeat remains the only option.

At Level 15, small-scale conventional military forces, including Special Forces, can no longer handle them. Unless deploying Mobile Task Forces, specialized in countering Transcendents.

Or disregarding collateral damage, bombarding with aerial bombs, missiles, and rockets from afar.

At Level 20 and 25, in a world without Extraordinary Powers, they can take whatever they want. Even in today’s various large guilds on Earth, these individuals are considered reliable pillars.

Only ones of the same level or stronger Transcendents, and the reverence for nuclear and sub-nuclear weapons can control and suppress them.

There is no physical barrier between Level 25 and Level 30, but the player community widely regards Level 30 and above as another realm, for no other reason than survival ability.

At this level, having no weaknesses in Strength, Agility, Defense, Endurance, Health, Combat Intelligence, and Special Abilities is just standard equipment.

Most importantly, at Level 30, it’s really hard to kill.

With Wolverine-Deadpool lineage, Witch Demon Life Box, Soul Device, possession, Corpse Dissolving Immortal, relic chip, Rebirth in Filth, Dead Revival Talisman, Nether Beach, Death Reincarnation, Cloned Avatar, Consciousness Upload, Undead Magic...

Spending ten or even hundreds of thousands of game coins, with various magnificent or eerily unpredictable survival methods, what cannot be imagined cannot be done.

Even a long time ago, there was a blurry, green-tinged, like something copied hundreds of times on social media, Legend-level item screenshot circulating on forums,

named [Hades’ Arena Entrance Ticket], automatically triggered upon death, teleporting the bearer to an arena to battle an opponent of equal strength, reviving in full health upon victory.

It’s colloquially known as, winning the resurrection match.

As a biological weapon of a high-level Otherworld civilization, the Phase Change Demon’s Life Force far surpasses that of a cockroach, actually surviving the Alpha Snake Head’s breath.

"It’s trying to escape!" shouted Gray Rain anxiously, still floating in the air, struggling to piece itself back together.

"It won’t escape."

Li Cheng, expression unchanged, suddenly embraced the Eight Diagram Alchemy Demon Cannon, rotated the rail, exposed the notch, and threw in the [Bat Hook Claw Gun] that had accompanied him for so long.

Times have changed, with Floating Engine, Demon Exchange and other items and skills readily available, it no longer needed to provide mobility.

Gray Rain saw the Alchemy Demon Cannon light up with charging light, immediately pained and tearful, stretched out an arm and shouted in elongated tones: "No, Bat—Hook—Claw—Gun—"

With the elongated tone, the Alchemy Demon Cannon abruptly fired, a heavy metal anchor far exceeding the cannon itself roared out,

instantly crossing half the network space, piercing into that intangible black mist.

The Bat Gun’s effect is to cast out a hook to embed in the wall, providing a kinetic vector in any direction.

Once loaded into the Alchemy Demon Cannon, the shell effect became [launch a projectile to forcibly drag the target towards itself]

Crack!

The anchor, like a hook, firmly latched onto the black mist. The thick iron chain tensed extremely, emitting a teeth-gritting creak.

Seeing this, the black mist no longer deliberately hid, revealing a potato-sized body, greatly shrunken, clutching the anchor embedded in its back, charging into a bubble regardless.

The Alpha Snake Head’s breath indeed wreaked horrific destruction, causing the highly intelligent Phase Change Demon, absent of individual will, to fully realize the threat of death and attempt escape.

"You grab on!"

Without hesitation, Li Cheng tossed the Alchemy Demon Cannon into Gray Rain’s arms, then activated the hexagonal vector nozzles of the Insect Transformation Form’s rear armor to provide thrust, propelling himself rapidly forward, following the iron chain and tracing the Phase Change Demon’s trajectory, also entering the bubble.

In the real world,

"As a financially influential figure, I can assert that now is the best time to surrender to the U.S..."

The slumped figure in a singlet before an old computer screen continued typing on an ash-covered keyboard, posting pre-written tweets as usual.

Suddenly, the screen lit up with a blinding light, illuminating the cluttered and dirty room, scaring the roaches in the corner into scurrying away.

A black potato clutching an iron chain shot across the computer’s desktop. Behind it, a biomass armor-clad figure pursued at breakneck speed.

In the blink of an eye, both vanished from the right side of the computer desktop, the entire screen going dark with a burnt smell seeping out,

the slumped figure in front of the computer unable to shake off the shock for a long time, with the first thought in his mind being, "Damn it! My screen! How many articles do I need to write to earn it back, geez!"

Simultaneously, the LED billboards in Times Square, televisions in Hawaii hotels, all cellphones in several central districts of Seoul... all flashed with the image of the Phase Change Demon.
