Chapter 35: Major Construction

Jennie and Caleb went their separate ways. Caleb went back to his town, and so did Jennie. They went back to manage their town again, there were a few things Caleb had to take care of upon his arrival.

"How was your conversation with her?" asked William.

"She’s a good friend of mine. We’ve met a few times before," Caleb replied.

"Met? Isn’t this your first time meeting her? How did you guys meet several times?" asked William.

’Right! I hadn’t thought of that before. William is an AI, he must not have understood the situation of the players in this place before,’ replied Caleb.

"Forget what I said. You don’t need to think about it," Caleb explained.

William fell silent, then refocused on leading his unit of troops away from Great_Dao territory to arrive at RustyAxe.

From a distance, Caleb could see his city which was in the process of major construction, the towering city walls built neatly and solidly.

From afar, most of the buildings in the city could not be seen because they were obscured by the stone wall.

The stone wall construction process still had an hour left, half of the stone wall had been built neatly almost enclosing the entire city.

Caleb smiled, with the stone wall, no one would be able to defeat it in the current time period.

They re-entered the city and parted ways with Caleb. Caleb went near the construction site of the Alliance Center building. He pressed the building icon and saw what the construction progress was like.

[Building Construction]

[Name: Alliance Center]

[Building Type: Military Building]

[Construction duration: ]

[00:00:15:59]

In a few tens of minutes, the building construction would be completely finished. If the Alliance Center was fully built, then Caleb could consider starting to establish an alliance.

Elsewhere, Caleb had a notification appear in his notification menu. He pressed the menu on the player dashboard and saw that the notification came from one of the buildings, with technology that had been researched.

[DING! Congratulations on completing technology research]

[Technology Type: Military]

[Technology: Heavy Scout]

[Building: Cavalry Camp]

[Opens a new troop unit in Cavalry Camp: Heavy Scout]

[Kingdom Power: 16475] [+350]

A panel appeared in front of Caleb displaying information about the technology that had been researched.

The Heavy Scout technology had been fully completed and Caleb obtained a new troop unit, the Heavy Scout unit.

He shifted the focus of his face to the side. Caleb pressed the Cavalry Camp building icon and saw that a second unit had opened, in addition to the scout unit.

However, the difference between the two units was quite significant, especially in terms of the unit’s base status and the cost required to create a Heavy Scout.

Even so, the Heavy Scout is arguably the strongest troop unit currently available. Unlike the First Swordsman or First Bowman.

Caleb put in nominal numbers to form a Heavy Scout unit. He needs to balance cavalry units with infantry, so that the strength of his city will increase and stabilize.

To cost one Heavy Scout unit, Caleb needed around 200 wood, 200 food, and 200 gold. The amount was much higher than when Caleb produced the scout.

He kept the production details panel in front of him. Caleb pressed the resources info menu and brought up detailed information about his daily production from four different sectors.

[RESOURCES INFO]

[Wood: 3437] [+510]

[Food: 4805] [+765]

[Gold: 5325] [+510]

[Stone: 2105] [+510]

[Villager: 145/155] [+10]

[Idle Villagers: 68] [+10]

Caleb gains an additional 510 for the three sectors during the three-hour production, while the food sector gains an additional 765 resources due to increased worker capacity.

Even so, the Heavy Scout’s production depends on three essential resources, such as wood, food, and gold.

With the least amount of resources being 3437 for wood, Caleb can only produce 17 units of Heavy Scout which costs 3400 wood. However, Caleb is not desperate. He still has the best way to produce that many units.

[Item used]

[6 Wood Bundle Level 2]

[Wood +1500]

Caleb used his bundle resources item to increase the amount of wood resources. After the addition of the bundle item, the total wood resources owned are 4937.

If calculated by the amount of cost per one Heavy Scout unit, at least Caleb can form around 24 Heavy Scout units. That way, the total heavy scout units he will have will be 30 units.

[Unit Army Production]

[Unit Name: Heavy Scout]

[Quantity: 24]

[Cost: 4800 wood || 4800 food || 4800 gold]

[Unit production duration:]

[00:05:59:59]

Surprisingly, even though Caleb managed to order the creation of 24 Heavy Scout units, the time needed to complete all of them became six hours, a relatively long time.

All his resources were depleted, especially wood and food. For gold and stone, they were still around 1000.

Caleb checked his inventory, clearly seeing that he only had 5 pieces of 10-minute speed-ups, which would not be enough to complete the entire Heavy Scout production.

If Caleb canceled it unilaterally, then all the resources that had been used before would be wasted and unused, the unit was not completed.

The man could only stand by and wait. With the amount of work he needed to accomplish, Caleb was confident he could wait for the unit’s production to be completed, albeit for a long time.

"Maybe I should defeat a horde of monsters to make this long wait less tiring for me."

There were some outstanding progresses, the closest being the Blacksmith, while the stone wall and alliance center had to wait about two more hours.

For technology, the closest was the Lumberjack Hut, while the one that was still running at the moment was the Wall and Arrow.

He looked to the side, seeing that the entrance Liliana used to walk through had been completely covered by the stone wall. The only way Liliana could come to his place was by arriving in front of the stone gate.

"The costs at level 4 of the town hall are getting higher and higher. I must use my resources wisely."
