Playboy in the City-Chapter 144 Confrontation
"Heh."
Chen Yang found it amusing as he watched the two guys in front of him, who looked ready to fight over Lin Ruixin.
After all, he had lived with his grandfather in the village his whole life. He’d never attended college or been in a relationship, so he had no idea what went through the minds of young people his age. Besides, they were getting this irrational just from seeing Lin Ruixin holding his arm. What would they do if they saw him pinning her to the bed, spreading her tender self wide as he fiercely took her? Or if they saw her kneeling between his legs, her little mouth stretched wide as she earnestly worked on his thick, hot erection? They’d probably go completely insane.
The more Chen Yang thought about it, the more he wanted to laugh at the two guys before him.
"Liu Feng, get away from me! Take your claws off, don’t touch me," Lin Ruixin said with a look of disgust, dodging Liu Feng’s outstretched hand. She instinctively pulled the amusingly smirking Chen Yang back a step with her.
This scene made Liu Feng feel as if his heart was shattering. It hurt so, so much. This was his goddess!
"Damn it, and you’re still laughing!" Qiu Fei grew even more furious. The hand he had been pushing toward Chen Yang’s shoulder balled into a fist, and his face flushed red as he swung at Chen Yang’s face.
"Qiu Fei, I dare you! Watch out, or I’ll scratch you to death!"
Chen Yang was just about to pull Lin Ruixin behind him and kick the guy away, but he never expected Lin Ruixin to react like a mother tigress guarding her cub. She shielded him behind her, looking utterly adorable despite her fierce expression.
The sight made the other boys’ hearts burn with envy, wishing they could make Lin Ruixin their girlfriend to cherish.
"Xin xin, you..." Qiu Fei was in utter disbelief. How could his goddess protect a scummy man like this? His heart ached terribly.
"Don’t call me Xin xin. My name is Lin Ruixin. You don’t have the right to call me that. Beat it."
In Lin Ruixin’s heart, Chen Yang was the person she loved most; no one was allowed to bully him. She pouted, glaring fiercely at Qiu Fei.
"You bastard! Are you even a man, hiding behind Xin xin? If you’ve got any guts, come out here and fight me, damn it!" Qiu Fei was brimming with an anger he couldn’t vent, his face flushed red.
"Exactly! If you’re a man, step out! Stop hiding behind a woman," Liu Feng added, pointing at Chen Yang with hatred filling his eyes.
He and Qiu Fei had an agreement to compete for Lin Ruixin fairly at school, and they would never allow an outsider to snatch her away. At this moment, they were on the same side.
"I never would have thought, Sister Xin xin, that the boyfriend you found isn’t just poor, but also a useless country bumpkin who’s all brawn and no guts," Huo Lili, who was leaning against Yu Junfei, sneered at Lin Ruixin. She had always been at odds with Lin Ruixin in school. Why did Lin Ruixin get to be the campus belle just because she was a little sweeter looking, while she was forced to be a mere accessory?
"Haha, Lili’s right! Hiding behind our campus belle, you’re no man. Have the guts to step out and take on Liu Feng and Qiu Fei. If you do that, I might actually respect you a little, even if you are poor," Yu Junfei said with a sneer, wrapping an arm around Huo Lili. He had failed to win over Lin Ruixin back in the day, and he wasn’t about to pass up such a perfect opportunity to knock her down a peg.
Huo Lili looked even more smug. She loved seeing Lin Ruixin in an embarrassing situation.
"Hehe, this kid must be scared, seeing so many of us."
"Of course he is. Besides, what’s a stranger doing at our class reunion anyway? Especially a poor loser who’s dressed so shabbily he doesn’t even have a car. Tsk tsk tsk."
"Looks like our dear campus belle is blind this time."
At this point, the young men who had heard the gossip about Chen Yang from some of the girls also began to sneer at him. After all, they were on the same side as Liu Feng and Qiu Fei. As for Chen Yang, he was a complete unknown to them.
"You’re all talking nonsense! In my eyes, none of you are worth a single hair on my Brother Xiao Yang’s head! You’re not qualified to say a word about him!" Lin Ruixin was absolutely furious. If she had known it would be like this, she would never have come to this crappy class reunion. What a bunch of jerks they were.
"Xin xin, don’t be angry. Just leave this to me," Chen Yang said, still wearing a calm smile. He wrapped an arm around Lin Ruixin’s fragrant shoulder, completely unfazed by these agitated youngsters.
They’re just a bunch of classless kids who have never been humbled by the real world. Not worth worrying about.
"All of you, that’s enough! Say one more word and I’ll tear your mouths apart! What is wrong with you people, ganging up on Sister Xin xin? Get lost!" Song Lingxue, standing to the side, finally couldn’t take it anymore. She had expected Chen Yang to step up right away, but who knew he’d just act like a coward, hiding in his shell. At that thought, Song Lingxue felt a wave of indignation for Lin Ruixin and shot Chen Yang a fierce glare.
"Well now, what’s our great Campus Belle Song doing? Don’t tell me you’ve also taken a liking to this handsome-but-poor boy?"
"Haha!"
The male classmates showed Song Lingxue no respect at all, immediately turning their ridicule on her as well.
"You guys are really going too far." A few of the girls spoke up for Song Lingxue, also feeling that their classmates were being excessive.
Only Huo Lili looked delighted. This was exactly the kind of chaos she had wanted to see.
"Alright, all of you, shut up!" Jiang Baibing, who had been curiously watching Chen Yang from the side, finally frowned. "You’re a bunch of petty, classless people. To think you’d turn a good class reunion into this. How pathetic. Everyone just go home, it’s a waste of time. Scatter."
After speaking, she gave the still-calm Chen Yang a deep look and turned to leave.
"Uh..."
The boys, who dared to be insolent with Lin Ruixin and Song Lingxue, were completely silent in the face of Jiang Baibing. A few of them unconsciously glared at Liu Feng and Qiu Fei before their gazes shifted to the Mercedes-Benz parked behind them.
Just then, the rear door of the Mercedes opened, and a handsome, mature-looking man wearing gold-rimmed glasses stepped out.
He smiled warmly at Jiang Baibing. "Bingbing, we’ve been classmates for so many years. You can’t just leave over a small matter like this, can you?"
As for Chen Yang, he didn’t even spare him a glance, as if, at that moment, Jiang Baibing was the only person in his world.
"Zheng Zhihua, you and I aren’t that close. You don’t have the right to call me Bingbing. Don’t let it happen again." Jiang Baibing gave him no face at all. In her eyes, this scion of a powerful family weighed less than the stranger, Chen Yang.
Instead, she smiled at Chen Yang and said, "Hey you, Chen Yang, right? Come on, let’s ride together. Ignore these petty-minded people."
"This..."
Watching this unfold, the group of boys felt their scalps tingle as they instinctively glanced at Zheng Zhihua’s stiff expression.
