Piss Off, Alpha! You Lost Me Forever-Chapter 58 You Are Not Welcome Here
THIRD PERSON’S POV
Inside the apartment, Sophia guided Lance to the couch.
Her small living space was neat but simple. The apartment had a couch, a coffee table and a kitchenette in the corner. It was nothing like the mansion she’d lived in with Damien.
"Sit. Let me look at it." She knelt in front of him and carefully removed his shoes. The cut was deep, still bleeding. "This might need stitches."
"I’m a doctor. I know it needs stitches." Lance winced as she touched the area around the wound. "But you don’t have supplies for that here.”
"I have butterfly bandages and I’m also a doctor, remember?”
She disappeared into the bathroom and returned with a first aid kit. Her hands were gentle as she cleaned the wound.
Lance watched her face as she worked. There was something peaceful about her like this.
“Thank you for this." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"It’s nothing. You’d do the same for me."
"I would but still....thank you." He paused. "Today was fun before the glass incident."
Sophia smiled as she applied antiseptic. "It was. I can’t remember the last time I just walked around town and enjoyed myself."
Sophia and Lance went for a walk around town earlier. Everything went well until Lance stepped on a broken glass and cut his foot. Sophia had to bring him back to her apartment.
"You deserve more days like this." he said.
"Maybe." She finished bandaging his foot and sat back. "There. You’ll live. But you should probably avoid walking on it too much for the next few days."
"Yes, doctor." Lance grinned. "Does this mean you’re going to wait on me hand and foot?"
"Don’t push your luck." She laughed. "Are you hungry? I could make us food."
"You don’t have to-"
"I want to." Sophia stood and moved to the kitchenette. "Besides, you’re injured. It’s the least I can do."
"In that case, I accept. Can I use your shower while you cook? I’m covered in street dirt and probably blood."
"Sure. Bathroom’s through there.”
Lance headed to the bathroom. Sophia began preparing lunch, humming softly to herself. Her wolf was content and happy.
She was chopping vegetables when there was a knock on the door. The knock sounded loud and aggressive. Her wolf tensed immediately.
She knew that knock. She had heard it thousands of times.
Damien.
Her heart raced.
The knock came again, harder. "Sophia. I know you’re in there. Open the door."
She considered not answering or pretending she wasn’t home but that would only make things worse. She moved to the door. She opened it just a crack, keeping the chain lock engaged.
Damien stood there with Simon beside him. Both of them looked angry. Damien’s eyes were dark and his Alpha presence rolled off him in waves. Simon’s expression was cold.
"What are you doing here?" Sophia asked coldly.
"I could ask you the same thing." Damien glared at her. "We need to talk."
"No, we don’t."
Damien glared at me. "Sophia, don’t play with me. Let me in."
Sophia’s wolf growled at his dominance.
"No. You’re not welcome here."
"Sophia, don’t make this harder than it has to be. Just let us in and we can have a conversation."
"Leave, Damien. I have nothing to say to you."
That’s when the shower turned off. The sound of water stopping was loud in the small apartment. Damien’s eyes narrowed. Simon’s expression turned knowing. Simon smirked.
Damn it.
"Who’s in there with you?" Damien’s voice dropped low. His tone turned dangerous.
"That’s none of your business."
"The hell it isn’t. Is it Lance?"
Before she could answer, the bathroom door opened.
Lance stepped out wearing only a towel around his waist. His hair was wet and dripping. He froze when he saw Sophia at the door with Damien and Simon visible through the crack.
"Sophia? Is everything okay?" Lance asked.
That was all Damien needed. He slammed his shoulder into the door. The chain broke with a snap.
The door flew open, sending Sophia stumbling backward. Damien and Simon rushed in before she could stop them.
Damien’s eyes went immediately to Lance who was standing there in just a towel. His face went dark with rage. His wolf was visible in his eyes, gold bleeding through the brown.
"So this is what you’ve been doing." Damien’s voice was deadly quiet. "This is why you’ve been avoiding me."
"It’s not like that-" Sophia started.
"Don’t." Simon cut her off. "We can all see exactly what it’s like. He’s fresh out of your shower, Sophia. You really expect us to believe nothing’s happening?"
"I don’t expect you to believe anything. You’ve already made up your minds." Sophia snapped at him.
Her wolf pushed forward, tired of being cornered.
“You show up here uninvited. Break into my home. And then have the nerve to judge me? Get out."
