Chapter 41: Chapter 41 I Regret Loving You

SOPHIA’S POV

I couldn’t stay silent. I wouldn’t. The thought burned inside my chest the entire drive. My hands gripped the steering wheel tightly as I drove straight to Stone Villa.

My wolf was restless under my skin. She kept pacing and growling softly, feeding off my anger.

I imagined Lance being escorted out, his career destroyed, Damien’s cold control.

By the time I pulled into the driveway, my blood was literally boiling.

The house felt wrong the moment I stepped inside.

Stone Villa was always quiet, but this time the silence felt heavy.

Damien was in the living room, standing near the fireplace. He looked calm. too calm for a man who just ruined someone else’s career for no reason.

His posture was relaxed. His expression was unreadable, like none of this affected him at all.

That was when something inside me snapped.

“Why did you do it?”

Damien turned slowly to face me. His eyes were dark. “Do what?”

“You manipulated Simon,” I continued, raising my voice. “You used your influence. You ordered the hospital to fire him.”

“Oh,” was all he said and then he scoffed. “You’re being dramatic.”

That answer confirmed everything.

“You don’t even deny it,” I said. My hands were shaking with anger now. “You ruined his career.”

Damien tilted his head slightly. “He crossed a line.”

“A line?” I repeated. “By what? Speaking to me? Supporting me?”

“He stayed too close to you,” Damien replied coldly. “That was his mistake.”

My blood boiled. My wolf snarled inside me. she was just as furious as I was.

“You do not get to control my life anymore,” I shouted. “You don’t get to decide who I speak to or who supports me.”

Damien’s lips curved into a humorless smile.

“I can do whatever I want,” he said simply. “My word is law, or have you forgotten?”

I stepped closer. “You will stop this. You’ll undo what you did. You’ll give Lance his job back.”

Damien laughed. The sound was cruel.

“Oh really?” he repeated. “That can never happen.”

My hands curled into fists “You-”

“He deserves what he got,” Damien continued. “Anyone who challenges me does.”

Lance never did anything to you!” I screamed. “You’re a monster.”

Damien’s eyes flashed with anger. I could see his wolf struggling to come out as his eyes went dark.

“You forget who you’re speaking to,” he said.

“No,” I shot back. “I finally remember. You’re jealous. You couldn’t stand that someone saw me as more than something you own.”

“You’re being dramatic.”

Damien’s Alpha aura came out in small waves. I stumbled back a bit as they hit me but I refused to back down.

“I am not your possession,” I said through clenched teeth.

The air thickened instantly. His alpha presence rolled through the room. My wolf pushed back, refusing to submit.

“You should be thanking me,” Damien said. “I protected you.”

“You destroyed an innocent man,” I screamed. “You destroyed him to prove your ego.”

Damien’s jaw tightened. “To prove my power,” he corrected.

Then he reached into his pocket. My stomach dropped as he pulled out his phone.

“What are you doing?” I demanded.

Damien looked at me calmly. “I’ll show you.”

He tapped the screen and lifted the phone to his ear. Then he pressed speaker.

“Simon,” Damien said coolly when the call connected. “It’s done, yes?”

Simon’s voice came through clearly. “Everything went smoothly.”

“I want it permanent,” Damien said. “Blacklist him completely. No hospital should take him ever. No references. No future.”

My heart slammed painfully against my ribs. Oh no.

“Stop,” I screamed. “Damien, stop!”

“Make sure he never practices medicine again,” Damien continued. “Anywhere.”

Simon hesitated briefly. “Understood.”

Damien ended the call without looking at me.

Something inside me broke.

Before I could think, my hand moved to his cheek. I slapped him...hard.

The slap echoed loudly through the room.

Damien froze. For one terrifying second, he just stared at me. Then his expression darkened completely.

In a flash, he was on me.

His hand closed around my throat, lifting me slightly as he slammed me against the wall. The impact knocked the air from my lungs. My wolf screamed in alarm, but I refused to submit.

“Do you know what you just did?” Damien snarled.

“I don’t care.” I gasped but forced the words out. “I regret ever loving you.”

His grip tightened.

“Falling in love with you,” I continued breathlessly, meeting his eyes without fear, “marrying you, was the greatest mistake of my life.”

My vision blurred, but I didn’t beg. I didn’t look away.

Damien’s rage spiraled dangerously. His hand was still locked around my throat.
