Phoenix Revenge System-Chapter 125: PRS 26 Liona
All day long, Lias watched Januar’s movements, trying to find a weakness in the man so she could pressure him into returning what he had once given to her family. Her eyes never left Januar’s every move, following him wherever he went. But she still hadn’t found the right idea.
Lias sighed deeply, frustration creeping into her chest. "This man is too perfect! There’s not a single flaw I can exploit," she muttered softly as she hid behind the wall.
The sight of the baby in Lura’s arms made her smile brightly. Her eyes sparkled as she watched Januar gaze tenderly at the baby, his face radiating affection.
"I see that Januar loves his nephew so much. He even quit his job just to make sure the baby was safe and comfortable," Lias muttered as she observed more closely. "I think this is the solution to all my problems. Yes, this is it! This is Januar’s biggest weakness!"
His smile was wide, revealing a row of uneven teeth. A sly grin was clearly visible on his face, full of evil intent.
Having come up with what he thought was a brilliant plan, he immediately went to lobby Bobi, the leader of a gang that operated in the market and terminal, to help him ensure that his plan would run smoothly. Along the way, his mind was constantly working to devise the perfect strategy.
"This time I won’t fail. This time Januar will kneel and beg me," she said vengefully, clenching her fists tightly.
Ting!
Liona, who was playing with her new doll in her room, suddenly had a bad feeling. Her small body suddenly tensed up, her clear eyes staring blankly ahead.
"Ugh, those bad people keep trying to disturb my family’s peace. They are never satisfied with what they have," he complained silently, with a tone of annoyance unusual for a child his age.
This time, the evil woman’s older brother intended to kidnap me so that my uncle would return all the rice fields, houses, and vehicles that my uncle had taken from them. Their plan was well organized; they had even hired thugs to carry it out.
Liona sighed deeply, her face looking more mature than her age. "I have to think of a way to tell my mother about this. But how? I can’t talk like an adult. They’ll be suspicious," Liona muttered to herself as she hugged her doll tightly.
Atri, who had just made milk for her grandchild, froze in front of the door after hearing Liona’s heartbeat. Her face paled, her hands trembled as she held the warm bottle of milk.
"Oh my God, what did I just hear? This can’t be... but..." she whispered softly, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"Liona, here’s your milk, dear. Drink up, it’s still warm," said Atri, trying to calm herself down as she handed the bottle to her granddaughter, who immediately drank it eagerly.
"Grandma made it with the right temperature, not too hot and not too cold. Drink it all up, dear," added Atri, gently stroking Liona’s head.
Because she was too tired from playing all day, as soon as the milk bottle was in her mouth, Liona’s eyes immediately closed tightly. Her breathing began to slow down, a sign that she had fallen into a deep sleep.
Seeing that her granddaughter was asleep, after carefully covering Liona’s body and placing several pillows on either side of her so she wouldn’t fall onto the floor, Atri left the room. She walked quickly, her face full of worry.
"I have to tell Januar about this right away. It’s very dangerous!" she muttered as she walked quickly to find her husband to discuss what she had just heard from her granddaughter because Lura and Januar were out taking care of some important matters related to all of Januar’s assets and businesses.
At the intercity bus terminal, armed with a borrowed motorcycle, Lias went to the place where Bobi hung out. The crowded and bustling atmosphere of the terminal did not deter his confident steps.
Seeing the burly man with long curly hair and numerous tattoos on his arms, Lias smiled broadly. Bobi’s intimidating appearance actually made her feel safe, because she knew he was the best at this kind of thing.
"Bobi!" Lias greeted him, waving her hand.
Bobi blew cigarette smoke from his mouth while looking suspiciously at Lias’ sudden arrival. His eyebrows rose, his eyes narrowed suspiciously.
"What trouble are you causing this time? Every time you come, there’s always trouble following you," Bobi said sharply as he threw his cigarette butt on the ground.
Lias, who was immediately accused of this, could only grin sheepishly because he realized that he had been bothering Bobi all this time with his disturbing behavior. He scratched his head, which wasn’t itchy.
"Don’t worry, Bobi! This time I’m not going to do anything that will give you a headache. In fact, I’m here to offer you a lucrative job. The pay is pretty good. Very good!" said Lias, handing Bobi a thick envelope with a big smile.
Bobi took the envelope, feeling it briefly before opening it. His eyes lit up when he saw the pile of money inside, bringing a broad smile to his scarred face.
"That’s better, now you’re talking! You really know how to make people happy, Lias," he said happily as he pulled out a wad of cash from an envelope and counted it deftly.
To help her brother’s devious plan, Lala gave up all the jewelry she wore so it could be sold to pay the thugs they would hire to kidnap Liona and Lura. Her heart ached as she parted with the jewelry given to her by her late mother, but her vengeance was greater.
"This is for my future. For the happiness that should be my right," she muttered as she removed the last bracelet from her wrist.
The two are inseparable, always together. Wherever Lura goes, Liona follows. This will make their plan easier.
Lala really hoped that her brother would succeed in his plan so that the divorce that Januar had filed could be withdrawn. She had already imagined how she would return to living a luxurious life like before.
"I will return to being Januar’s wife. Nothing can stop me," she was determined.
If Januar can withdraw the divorce papers, then Lala will take charge of the next steps. She has devised a thorough plan to win Januar’s heart back.
Lala knew that Januar had once loved her deeply, and she would use those feelings to win his heart back. "Feelings of love don’t disappear easily. I’m sure Januar still has feelings for me," she thought confidently.
As long as they did not divorce, she was still legally Januar’s wife and had the right to be supported by him, even though religiously they were no longer husband and wife. She was very confident that her deadly seduction, which she had been using all this time, would not fail with Januar.
Bobi, who received the thick envelope, immediately put his arm around Lias’s shoulder and invited him to discuss the kidnapping plan in an empty house not far from the terminal, which he and his men had been using as their headquarters.
"Explain all your plans so I can execute them perfectly. I need complete details about the target, location, and exact timing," said Bobi as he lit a new cigarette.
Not wanting to waste any time, Lias immediately revealed the plan he had devised in his head. He explained in detail about Lura and Liona’s habits, the routes they usually took, and the times when they were most vulnerable.
"Every Tuesday and Thursday, they always go to the morning market. That’s the perfect time to carry out the operation," explained Lias, his eyes sparkling.
As a criminal who has been involved in many crimes, Bobi can easily come up with several alternative plans that he and his men will carry out to ensure the mission’s success rate is high.
"We will create three scenarios. If the first scenario fails, we have a backup plan. I have never failed in any mission," said Bobi confidently.
Seeing the plans Bobi had drawn up made Lias feel satisfied and convinced that her decision to entrust this task to Bobi had been the right one. She nodded in agreement with every detail he explained.
"Perfect, Bob! This is absolutely perfect!" she exclaimed happily.
Lias couldn’t wait for the kidnapping of Lura and Liona to be carried out so that his sister could regain complete control of Januar, just like before.
It turns out that Lias and Lala are not the only ones who have evil plans for Lura and her children. In the village of Satarara, a wealthy widow who has recently been widowed is also targeting Laus, Lura’s husband, and trying to worm her way into the household of the couple and their four children. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Lina, Laus’s elementary school friend who had failed to win his love because her parents had arranged her marriage to a wealthy older man from the city, was forced to bury her feelings for Laus, the man she had loved since childhood.
"Back then, I was too cowardly to stand up to my parents. But now it’s different. Now I have money and freedom," he muttered as he stared at an old photo of Laus that he still kept.
Now, after her husband passed away due to illness, Jumilah returned to the village and hoped that she could be with the man she loved, even if it meant becoming his second wife. She didn’t care about status; the important thing was that she could be close to Laus.
So, to carry out her plan, Lina immediately went to Laus’s parents’ house to ask for help.
Here was Jumilah now, right in front of Laus’s parents’ house, carrying a basket of expensive fruit for her future in-laws. Her hands trembled as she held the basket, a mixture of nervousness and excitement.
Tok tok tok...
"Excuse me..." she said as sweetly as possible.
"Wait..." Lika replied to the greeting as she moved forward, placing the freshly cooked food on the dining table to see who was coming at this early hour.
The sixty-year-old woman narrowed her eyes to make sure who was now in front of her. Her eyesight was not as good as it used to be.
"Good morning, ma’am! How are you? I hope you are well and enjoy good health and a long life," said Lina as she took Lika’s hand and kissed it politely, hoping to make a good first impression.
Lika narrowed her eyes and furrowed her brow as she watched the woman with the flashy makeup suddenly shake her hand and kiss her knuckles, as if the two were already close acquaintances.
A woman in her thirties with heavy makeup and a menor in front of her wore a knee-length dress with slightly exposed shoulders, long dangling earrings, and high hair, like a dangdut singer.
"Who are you? What are you doing here so early in the morning?" asked Lika suspiciously.
The woman blushed when Lika looked at her like that. "Oh, ma’am, I’m Lina, Iyem’s daughter from the next village. I used to be Laus’s elementary school friend before moving to the next village. You must still remember me, right?" she said at length with a big smile.
"Ohhh... so you’re Lin. I thought you were a traveling dangdut singer who got lost and ended up here. Your outfit is so tacky," said Lika bluntly.
Lina, who felt her makeup was stunning after leaving the expensive salon, was annoyed that Lika compared her to a traveling dangdut singer, making her mouth protrude five centimeters forward.
Seeing that Lina was still standing at the door, Lika, who didn’t want her guest to become the subject of gossip among the residents, told her to come in immediately.
"Why are you still standing there like you’re busking? Come on in! The neighbors will see you," Lika snapped mercilessly.
After being called a traveling dangdut singer and now being compared to a street musician, Lina, annoyed by Lika’s harsh words, could only grumble to herself. She could only vent her anger by clenching the handkerchief she had been holding tightly, while her lips showed a fake smile so that her plan to get Laus would not fail.
"Come sit down," Lika said again, pointing to the chair next to her with her chin.
"What are you doing here so early in the morning, Lin? Everyone is still asleep," asked Lika suspiciously, folding her arms across her chest.
"Ahem..." Lina cleared her throat once to moisten it, which suddenly felt dry due to nervousness.
"You may have heard that I am now a wealthy widow after my husband passed away three months ago," said Lina, opening the conversation while deliberately playing with the jingling gold bracelet on her hand so that Lika would see it.
Lika glanced at Jumilah’s gold bracelet with envy. Her eyes followed Lina’s every move.
"So what does your widowhood have to do with me? Why should I care?" he asked sarcastically with a snort.
Lina, who began to sense that Lika was uncomfortable, pulled her hand away and stopped showing off her bracelet. She realized that her strategy was wrong.
"Ma’am, I came here to ask for your help. Perhaps you already know that I have always loved Laus. These feelings have never gone away, even though I am now married to someone else," she admitted, her voice trembling.
"So, I want you to persuade Laus to marry me. I am willing to be Laus’s second wife. There is no need for a big ceremony, just a simple prayer. Later, I can also invest a large amount of capital to help Laus’s business grow even bigger. I will also build you a magnificent two-story house with imported furniture and buy you lots of beautiful gold jewelry like the ones I’m wearing. How about it, Mom? Isn’t my offer quite appealing?" Lina said with a wide smile, so wide that her face cracked and her makeup fell off, staining the chair.
Lika’s head suddenly felt dizzy hearing all of Lina’s endless chatter, like a mosquito buzzing in her ear every night.
"Crazy! This woman is crazy! How could she so easily say she wants to be Laus’s second wife when it’s clear that Laus has never even noticed her! And what kind of offer is that? Does she think I can be bought with money?" Lika thought cynically as she stared sharply at Lina, who was still smiling broadly, oblivious.
