As one way was split into four, so was the other end, the portal that had become visible within the realm suddenly bloated like a corpse filled with gases, the three additional portals created were blown away, making wide arcs into the sky before landing well away from the original portal, which remained in place, continuously puking out invaders still.

'Huh… Was that intended?' wondered the wolfish priestess whilst looking at the directions each of the three additional portals had been sent in, not panicking as the idea that more breaches into the Emerald Realm would show up had been an eventually they had thought of, naturally, if the undead could already poke a hole in, they could probably make some more.

Though, three at once could be a bit problematic if the others on standby weren't ready for it.

Thankfully, there were four Divine Dancing Priestesses and three Emerald Heralds, so it was impossible for any fronts to be without proper attention, the only issue did not lay in the fact that cutting down the soldiers coming from those other passageways would be difficult, but rather that in the time it would take to get there, who was to say that some wouldn't spread out and hide?

One landed near the edge, rising up and expanding like a flame within a dry forest upon touching ground, immediately beginning to spew invaders, only that these were not people, but living monsters and creatures that had been captured alongside the homelands of the living soldiers, they too had been trained and tamed to follow orders, usage of means such as crests of enslavement were forgone as their capabilities in the others realm were doubtful.

All of them spread out like a tide consumed by madness, causing quite a stir indeed, but the people of the realm didn't even have to get there for these foreign beasts to encounter sizable obstacles, which was the local fauna and flora they had to contend with.

As though it had been waiting for them, a gargarossaz, which looked like a massive grey bear, emerged from the nearby forest, moss covering its back and head, front legs massive and awfully long.

All invading creatures instinctively stopped and backed away, feeling compelled to just lower their heads and give it the right of way, however, the gargarossaz was not just passing through, neither was it intending to simply pick one beast and take it to feast upon, it wasn't here to demonstrate any typical behaviour, the great grey bear was here for one thing only.

Slaughter them all, for the very realm called for their execution.

After a few moments of assessing the sea of unknown beasts, it stood on its hind legs, stretched out both forelegs and simply slammed down, shaking the earth and crushing many to death, forcing all the blood inside of them out.

A cacophony rose through the disorderly creatures, the sight and smell of blood had been made into a signal by their tamers, turning the fearful beasts into a frenzied state, forgetting all reason and survival instinct to throw themselves at the native beast, which swiped at the oncoming masses with its claws, not backing off, some latching onto its back, claws and fangs struggling to pierce the tough hide of a species that had established itself in the Emerald Realm, without panic or urgency, the gargarossaz leapt to the air, once, twice, thrice… Each time landing with a splash of warm blood and dismembered limbs, still, the frenzy was not easily stopped.

Invading forces crawling atop one another in an attempt to reach the great grey bear, but their madness was attracted elsewhere soon after, the moss-covered beast was merely the first one to get there-

Against all natural reason and order, as if it was engraved into their instincts, the normally competitive and ruthless creatures of the realm had stopped trying to feast and tear one another's apart in favour of doing that to the newcomers instead.

From being the portal they had come from, a tide of arahtazthats emerged, their two heads spitting acidic venom into the crowd, legs lashing out, skewering any invader that made the mistake of being within range.

It was a massacre, as simple as that.

All brought together for this exceptional event, the sacred beast of the Emerald Realm all demonstrated their blinding strength and power, it was no mistake that they had been capable of inspiring faith into the hearts of the locals, even dozens of beasts from the portal couldn't compete against a single of the predators, what had been hunters from were they had originated couldn't do anything against the preys to be found here.

Even the small Jokras, that would always favour escaping and hiding, hundreds of them moved like a merciless swarm, inflicting countless bites, forcing beasts ten times their sizes to the ground before digging right through their stomachs and taking them out.

And unlike the soldiers in white, the corpses were not disappearing nearly instantly, these were the spoils of this battle after all, they would only fall apart to spirit life once rewards had been taken.

As this feral confrontation took place, distant rumbles were making the soil tremble.

Another of the portal had landed amidst a small clearing, and instead of troops, it was used to fire explosives into every direction, although, none were anywhere as powerful as Tiloh's warhead, these were all fashioned with death-free materials and weren't even intended to create strong blasts, instead focusing on spreading fire and flames.

Filled with inflammable liquids and gases, such a bombardment could turn a vigorous forest into a carpet of ash and desolation in little time.

Unfortunately for the arsonists, the flora wasn't without means to preserve itself, easily forgotten, yet equally, if not more important than the fauna, the trees and plants of the Emerald Realm were also put under the strain of competition before finally settling down as the dominant force amongst nature.

All trees, without exception, would not only defend themselves from being incinerated by sweating a special sap that snuffed out any flames, but also by spraying it in a wide arc around themselves, which would cause even trees that weren't yet affected by flames to the same.

Soon enough, the entire forest was covered in that sap, stopping any and all flame from spreading or even taking hold at all.

Which also protected all of the other plants.

The only damage inflicted was caused by the initial blasts of those fiery explosives, which could leave scorch mark even with the actual flames never managing to prosper, however, even then, the plant life bathed in emerald light had a countermeasure, which was that if they were somehow burnt despite their protection, then it would cause them to release seeds.

Even if flames consumed them all, more trees would come to replace them.
