Path to Becoming the Greatest Space Mercenary-Chapter 463 A Date with Liesel

A couple of days went by and the support team that Zefield had waiting in the Ainelou System came by to pick up the captured enemy ships and prisoners.

Avery left dealing with them mostly to Tuuali since she was the one that had already had multiple dealings with these merchants.

Fortunately, everything went smoothly.

They had already gotten the access codes for the vessels from the captive attackers, and no one tried to make an escape attempt.

It seemed that the black ops groups that did dirty work for the highest bidders understood that they had been beaten already.

Once the transfers had been completed, Avery's company and their two escorts from Zefield's team got back on their way.

They had already exchanged several communications with the other squads and informed them that they would be around three days late thanks to the delays.

This certainly put a bit of a strain on the others, but not so much to the point that the mission needed to be called off.

Everyone had prepared excess supplies, so a slight increase in time would not cause enough of a negative impact that it was necessary to reorganize and try again. Though, their margins or error would be a bit constrained.

Avery put work out of his mind though after the immediate problems were dealt with.

So long as nothing else unexpected occurred, they were in for just a couple weeks of quiet travel.

"My clothes look good. Hair is in the proper style. Teeth are clean. I don't have any BO. Everything seems good."

Avery was in his bathroom going over his appearance so that he was certain he would be presentable for his date with Liesel.

Considering how long that he had made her wait, he wanted to make sure that it was the perfect experience.

Of course, it was a bit strange since he was already married to Kasandra, and Jasmine, but neither of them had any complaints about Liesel joining as one of Avery's lovers. They both honestly saw her as a sort of little sister.

Kasandra's father had had multiple wives and men or women of status were expected to have several partners was part of the culture of her people.

As for Jasmine, Azade was a planet that typically practiced monogamy. Her father had only had a relationship with her mother, and Regina had never even entertained the idea of dating someone else after he passed.

Still, she had easily accepted that Avery would have other women in his life. She was actually the one to intrude on his and Kasandra love life. Her romantic feels for Avery had grown after he saved her from the machinations of a corrupt Alliance Police officer far higher ranking than her.

So long as Avery did not stop loving her, she was fine with him taking on more than one partner. Thankfully, Avery was attentive to both of his wives, and he would not bring another woman in unless they both approved.

He already understood that he was very lucky to have multiple beautiful women that loved him, and he was not going to chase after attractive girl he saw and ruining what he had. That was not what he wanted. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

All Avery was after was a happy and fulfilling life.

"Seems that Liesel is ready. I better head on over to our first stop." Avery said, pulling out his terminal and seeing the message that had just been sent to him.

Being the owner of the Intrepid, he had the privilege to reverse certain places that were typically open to the entire crew for himself.

Perhaps some might consider this an abuse of his authority, but Avery honestly did not care. So long as he did not do so unreasonably, he was going to do what he wanted aboard his own ship.

When Avery arrived at the first destination of their date, he found Liesel already waiting there for him. Looking both excited and nervous.

"You look very cute in that. I didn't know that you owned any dresses likes this."

"Um, thank you." Liesel responded bashfully. "This isn't actually mine. Casey loaned it to me. She said that I shouldn't wear my normal mercenary clothes on a first date, and that my lounge wear would be a bit too revealing."

"Well, you look beautiful, nonetheless. So shall we go inside. I've prepared a special program for us that I think you'll enjoy."

Avery grabbed ahold of Liesel's hand holding an pulled her into the room where the first activity of their date would occur.

The orange sundress she was wearing fluttered behind her, and despite how bold she usually was, Avery's assertiveness today made her feel more timid than normal.

This was the first real romantic experience that Liesel had ever had.

Before meeting Avery, she had still been focused on trying to make a place among her family. Only having viewed relationships as a means to potentially get ahead.

However, now that she had decided to abandon her less than ideal situation where she was bound to be used as a piece towards her cousin taking over the Kaizer fleet, she was able to pursue a meaningful connection with someone she actually liked.

"We'll be taking over the roles of the male and female leads of this story. It's a bit sappy at points, but I made sure that there was some action that we could partake in so that's it remains interesting." Avery said, grin at Liesel.

Normally, people only watched holomovies as audience members.

Yet, with the right facilities, it was possible to partake as characters in the stories.

It required expensive and energy intensive equipment, but the Dauntless had enough extra room for a few holotheaters and the energy capacity to power them all.

Avery knew that these entertainment facilities were already a big hit among the crew, so he wanted to try them out for the first time with Liesel.

"This story stars out at a ball. So, we'll need to begin at other sides of the room. Then we'll lock eyes and meet each other in the middle and begin dancing. I hope that your fine with that?"

Liesel nodded her head. Her cheeks tinged slightly red.

She did not really have much experience dancing but Avery told her that he would lead and assured her that with their physical augmentations, it would be easy enough to get into the rhythm.
