PATH OF THE STAR HUNTER-Chapter 606
606 Chapter 606 Do You Want To Marry The Protagonist? First go and train.
A week was short, especially if you wanted to carry out a complicated task. In the case of Cecilia, Claire, Revna, and Sasha’s training, that week felt like an eternity. Under the hellish training regimen carried out under the hands of Xiauyue and Fei Long, the girls’ strength underwent a metamorphosis regarding combat prowess. 𝗳𝔯𝙚e𝒘e𝚋𝘯𝚘ν𝙚l.𝑐o𝙢
Taking Claire as an example. The emerald green-eyed girl had trained under Xiauyue’s guidance. She made significant progress in developing her own fighting style, learning to combine her Arcana with tactics and maneuvers that made her a force to be reckoned with.
For Cecilia, the week could be described as a never-ending fight. Mei Fei Long was quite direct with how she trained the former priestess. For seven days, Fei Long had taken Cecilia to the training ground and attacked her non-stop for hours.
Having to fend off Fei Long’s natural predator, Cecilia’s battle instincts and defensive maneuvers received a massive upgrade. In the process, Fei Long put a lot of pressure on Cecilia, trying to extract all of her potentials, even making some progress in developing offensive skills for Cecilia.
Unlike Cecilia and Claire, Revna already had a reasonably well-structured fighting style. So, her training was only to polish her flaws, hone her foundation, and learn a few new things from the person Xiauyue and Fei Long assigned as her teacher.
Revna’s teacher was also a sand tribe girl, like the rest of the guards and servants in residence. Still, she was very different from her companions. According to Xiauyue, Revna’s master, Sacyr, was a professional assassin even before she was a slave. Sacyr’s style differed from Revna’s, but Desmond’s self-proclaimed personal secretary still learned a lot.
In Sasha’s case, she was the only one who had a fairly easy time this past week. Sasha spent most of the day in the alchemy workshop with Ai Zuling, tirelessly working on her pill refiner and alchemist skills. Besides that, Sasha still puts in a few hours each night to train with Fei Long.
To Fei Long’s surprise, Sasha was just as much of a monster as Desmond was, maybe even more. With her absurd talent and innate affinity for fire, Sasha was advancing by leaps and bounds with each passing day. By the end of the week, she had already developed at least two techniques that matched well with the title of ultimates.
It is worth mentioning that in addition to training, Cecilia, Revna, Sasha, and Claire also spent some time simply hanging out and socializing with Xiauyue and Fei Long. To tell the truth, things went just as expected; the six girls almost became best friends in less than a week.
.....
Although Claire and the rest might not have much in common with a girl as fierce and domineering as Fei Long, the latter being an awful lot like Desmond, the man the four girls loved madly. It was hard not to get along with Fei Long.
Even the way Fei Long was flirtatious and aggressive in solving her problems was very similar to how Desmond acted daily. For Claire, Sasha, Cecilia, and Revna, living with Fei Long was nostalgic in more ways than one, although it made them miss Desmond.
Xiauyue was a girl who enjoyed painting, fashion, and tea and was interested in alchemy. So, there was no lack of common themes between them and the girls. Claire shared some pleasant conversations about painting with her. Cecilia was a girl who really enjoyed reading, so there was never a lack of topics for discussion. At the same time, Sasha could spend hours talking about alchemy.
Interestingly, it was Revna who became the closest to Xiauyue. The rest of the girls had noticed this but didn’t mention it since there would always be dangerous air around Revna and Xiauyue when they talked in private.
Little did the rest of the girls know that Revna and Xiauyue got along so well because they had two things in common. The first was that they were both women utterly obsessed with the object of their affection. However, Xiauyue was much better at hiding it than Revna. The second thing that both girls had in common was an immense love for clothes and a fetish for dressing up.
Even now, Xiauyue was dying of envy as she remembered Revna’s ability to change her clothes instantly by covering her body in shadows. That was the dream of every girl who loved clothes and costumes. That’s not to mention all the things a girl could do with her partner with that skill.
Amidst all the goodwill and hard training, only one small incident broke the peace and quiet in Xiauyue and Fei Long’s residence. It happened a couple of days after Claire and the rest had arrived at the residence overnight.
Claire had doubts about the island expedition and asked Revna to find Fei Long or Xiauyue to ask about it. Claire forgot that Revna wasn’t exactly the most respectful of other people’s privacy.
As such, Revna did what she always did, sneaking into the shadows and looking for her target. Revna did not expect to find an extremely passionate and naked scene between Fei Long and Xiauyue, enjoying themselves between the sheets. Unfortunately, with her tremendous sensitivity, Fei Long detected Revna’s presence before the latter withdrew, leading to a minor conflict.
Fortunately, Fei Long was not an unreasonable person. She did not stay angry for too long. However, Fei Long indeed pointed out on more than one occasion how much she valued her privacy and how her quarters were off-limits to guests. That way, the incident ended without any complications. Well, that was if one ignored how Revna blushed whenever she saw Xiauyue or Fei Long. Clearly, that hot scene left an impression on her.
Whatever the case, the preparation week was over. The girls would be leaving for the eastern region of the continent for the Eternal War Maiden Sect’s territory the next day. So, Xiauyue and Fei Long decided it was a good time for a break.
Being too lazy to go out for the day, Claire and the rest did what they did best: hibernating in a comfortable room with food and entertainment. The modern lifestyle was really like poison; all the comforts and junk food could turn anyone into someone who did not want to leave their house for a whole month.
One can imagine Fei Long and Xiauyue’s surprise when they went looking for the girls only to find them lying lazily and unseemly around the room, staring at a strange device displaying moving images.
After explaining to Fei Long and Xiauyue what a laptop was and the concept of movies, Claire and the rest made room for the two girls on the sofa. Being the ultimate example of a bad influence, Claire persuaded Fei Long and Xiauyue to spend the afternoon watching movies with them.
To the surprise of Claire, Sasha, Revna, and Cecilia, Fei Long turned out to be highly interested in rom-coms, something no one could have guessed. In Xiauyue’s case, she was more of the type to watch a good thriller or horror movie, quite strange given the always serene yet vivacious environment around her.
Of course, since there was a movie night, it was inevitable that the girls would talk about all sorts of things during the process. Between that, Fei Long couldn’t help but ask about something bothering her all this time.
“There is something that I do not understand. You came here to become stronger; that part is clear to me. I also know that this place is more suitable for your plans due to the abundance of resources and knowledge; even the atmosphere here longs for strength. What I don’t get is, why do you guys seem so obsessed with getting strong?”
Not quite understanding the question, Claire answered. “What are you talking about? Isn’t it normal to want to be strong?
Fei Long didn’t refute what Claire said, but she still responded. “That may be so, but I feel that the matter with you is different. As far as I know, your world is not as dangerous and violent as ours, at least from what you and Desmond have told me. If that’s true, then what’s the need to get stronger? Why train so hard?”
Although she did not intervene in the conversation, Xiauyue was very attentive in waiting for an answer. It was clear that she had been thinking about the matter as well. It was normal, just as Fei Long said; it didn’t seem like Claire and the rest needed to get stronger, at least not on the surface.
For some reason, Claire couldn’t help but think of a conversation she had with Desmond shortly after he returned from his first trip to Serefia. Back then, Desmond spent most of the day training non-stop, and Claire had asked him about his reasons for doing it. Although she later got a serious answer, the first thing Desmond told her was a little joke that almost no one would find really funny. “I wouldn’t be the protagonist if I didn’t have my own training arc, don’t you think?”
Having lived most of her life by Desmond’s side, it was inevitable that Claire would pick up some of the bad habits and bad sense of humor from the man she loved. So, her response was much the same as what Desmond said that day. . “Well, I couldn’t comfortably marry the protagonist if I don’t have my own training arc, don’t you think?”
Under the confused gaze of Xiauyue and Fei Long, only Sasha, who had become addicted to animated series, had a little laugh at Claire’s bad joke. As for the rest? Although they didn’t understand half of what Claire said, the general meaning was pretty simple: To be with the person I love, I need to be strong.
